    OK, I think you work safe. Safety first!
    You are a Treasure Doris. Keep doing what you do. Keeping your workplace clean is a very nice habit you have. Good for you Doris!
    I am going to look into getting a Quick Jack. I think it would work nice in my shop.
    I added large sway bars and QA1 shocks to my 1973 Cutlass S 2 door. It handles very much better than ever. I think you will like the stiff setting better than the soft settings.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Safety first..that is correct. The garage starts clean and ends up a mess when I'm done lol..but I clean it up off screen. The quickjack I feel was a great investment. I love mine. I tested it after the video in the medium setting and I noticed a very obvious improvement. Reduced body roll and the steering response was even better. I will try the rear on the stiff setting and leave the front in the middle. This will hopefully eliminate most of the understeer. Thanks for watching.

      From a safety perspective, when using the QuickJack, the lock bars are supposed to be on the outside not the inside. This is stated in the manual many times.
      It ensures that you never reach through the frame to release the bar.

      @@woman.driven Slowly getting better? Omigosh - you are already totally awesome. I was blown away by the complement of tools you have acquired and you have put together a really functional garage purpose built to working on your vehicles. I forgot to ask previously if the new JLT cold air intake you installed provided that much better performance than the stock unit. So happy you have a passion for both driving and working on cars and the Shelby is one sweet car. So easy to drive daily and yet a real beast when you hammer the loud pedal! I talk to many young people today that neither care about cars nor have any desire to lean how to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission. Props to you. I enjoy your videos as they give me good ideas as to what I might want to do with my Shelby. Thanks for posting these great videos and continue to have fun with all your vehicles.

    I love the new technology that goes into our toys today. But I feel I'll always be an "old school" guy! My enjoyment comes from my old school motorcycle. It's a KAWASAKI Z1900. FAR from stock though. Lots done to CYLINDER HEAD with full street port, cams, flat slide CARBS, bottom end is bullet proof, with welded CRANK shaft and balanced. Top engine case is bored out to accept a 1327cc big bore kit. But I'm running the stock CYLINDER but bored out to accept larger bores. I'm running a 1198cc kit right now. Stock the bike turned 8500 rpm, it tops out at 10,500 rpm. BEEN on dyno, and even with CLUTCH slipping it ran up to 127hp at 9800 rpm with 74 ft. Lbs. OF TORQUE. Not bad when stock used to be 82 hp. I enjoy watching your clips, it gives me "goose bumps" in my scalp watching you, not sure why? Hope to hear from you again! Regards, Steven Bullis. Barre, VERMONT plus on Facebook under my name. Tried to message you, no luck.

    Very useful video. I'm thinking about how I'm going to create a better environment for working on my cars. I want something safe and versatile. I was looking at the quickjacks but my car is a classic and the frame is where the main structure is so I don't think the quickjacks are a good idea as weight from the drivetrain is supported by the frame, not the unibody. So a 4 post would allow me to do all the maintenance and work besides wheels, suspension, brakes, etc. Thanks for showing this... really allows you to see the 4 post lift vs the quickjacks and then how they might work together.

      It wasn't a hard install, just a bit tedious with removing the front sway bars and some bolts weren't so smooth to remove but glad I got it done! Can't wait to try my car out at the track and see how it feels. Thank you for watching.

  • @mqandil
    @mqandil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video ..... very informative. Quick tip for bolts that has loctite, I would apply some heat to the bolts before attempting to remove them, and the bolts would come out so much easier and save you so much grief. Again keep up the good work. Mark

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I knew that. Those bolts were the worst. I don't have anything to heat them up. I suppose I need to invest in one. Thank you!

    Very nice installation video. It surprises me that Ford from the get go didn't make theirs adjustable. Do you know if they are different on the R version Mustang? I was sure there wouldn't be any issue with the lift of the car. I suspect like most they rate the capacity @ 1/4 the actual capacity like they do with chains and the likes. And they have to allow for different length wheelbases of cars. Was a great idea! Hope you like the sway bars. I'd be curious if you notice a difference driving around on the street. Have a great work week, hope M$ doesn't give you any headaches with today's updates.

    By far one of the best car channels! I noticed your gloves are loose do you prefer fitted gloves over loose ones? I find it difficult to work with loose gloves specially when twisting nuts and bolts or screwing. Every time I lube I have to throw the glove away or I end up getting grease all over my wrench, or on the button of the power tool.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks..I'm glad I can build a channel that is enjoyed by others. I prefer fitted ones..but these gloves were the "one size fits most"..clearly a bit loose for my hands lol..As for the lube..that make sense haha..I was wondering some tools were sticky when I cleaned up after..I should have known. Thanks for watching.

    As a GT350 owner as well I’m curious about the removing of the front wheels. Because the wheel/caliper clearance is very small, have you ever had the caliper come in contact with the wheel barrel when pulling the wheel off the studs? The very first time I removed my front wheel I managed to have the caliper scratch the inside of the wheel.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clearance is small, but at times I rub against the rotor..I try to prevent that but it happens. I haven't checked the inside barrel. Perhaps I should and see if I see any scratches.

    Nice video. Thank you. I'm interested in seeing what adjustment, if any, you do on the Eibach sway bars after driving your GT350 on the track. My experience has been Eibach makes really good suspension components. BTW, the QuikJack seemed to work very well on the BenPack. If you remember, I expressed some concern about that. Looking forward to the next video! 👍

    Im curious, the old black sway bar is 34 MM wide in diameter, the red new sway bar is 35mm in diameter BUT what is the gauge of each sway bar. I dont believe they are solid metal except for the ends where the holes are. Even though the red is wider in diameter the thickness (gauge) may be different. I guess you can tell which is more solid and more sturdy by the weight of the red compared to the black. The heavier the better. I could be wrong.

    How did the sway bars go? Middle setting on the adjustment okay? and are you going to adjustable sway bar end links? I’m getting ideas for my car because all videos I find on sway bar end links are saying “just adjust it to factory length”😑 not really the point of buying them. I like your videos cause you clear the most simple yet complicated questions.
    Thanks

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sway bars in the middle setting already produce an added change that you feel in a positive way. I am going adjustable end links as well. I will track the car tomorrow and get a feel for it. But I know i'll likely leave the front in the middle position and place the rear on the stiffest setting. That appears to be the best from the many of track their car more than me. For autocross the setting will be stiff on both ends. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers!

      Woman.Driven you should be proud of yourself Doris as you are practically a self taught mechanic and the more you tackle the better you fet learning as you go,it does take alot of courage to sometimes go into something you maybe have not done before as there is always the fear of the unknown,sometimes when you tackle a job it may create unforseen aspects which may hinder the outcome thats what i mean you seem to handle each job with ease and problem solve quickly...it is a pleasure to watch you go in methodically and achieve what it is you have set out to do..and as i say the lifts are a massive bonus to helping you complete your tasks..keep up the amazing work..your amazing at what you do😊😎😎👍🏻🙏😘.xxx
