Any way in my own humble opinion, I think what the govt is trying to do as far as the matter is concerned, is good and commendable but it was too sudden and a bit on the high side like few of the people you interviewed said..
As for me now: Am also an agent, with few branches and different machine networks, which the business is just a side hustle for me, thankful to God I had my business CAC since 2015 and I make sure it was registered as a GENERAL MERCHANDISE, which makes me think outside one business and even since the registration, I use same name for my businesses even if I decided to start selling pepper tomorrow, I will still use the same name..
So In a simple word, there is nothing we all should be scared of, I don’t think 20k or 17500 OPay is charging to register is that much compare to about 50k I did it then.. it’s just necessary to get the right things done at the earliest,Nigeria is getting there if you ask me! And by God’s grace we will get to that better place soon.

As a matter of fact, you can register more than being a POS agent. That's why we have the description board there on the CAC portal.

Government should register it at a cost that is easily affordable and it should not be seen as a means of revenue for govt but as a measure to fight fraud and crime.

It is not necessary, because each pos operator has already profiled their details with pos issuers before collecting the machines.
The government should instruct, the fintech companies that issue the POS machine to carry our thorough documentation before approving the machines to the agents
The government should stop tricking the poor to take from them.
