Honestly the thing that makes most sense is that Konami simply doesn't gives a fuck, if it was copyright they could just slightly alter the artwork, if it was the name they could just change the name, damn probably even make another version, but it's just not important to them
I wouldn't say they don't give a fuck as air neos is a part of the most popular archetype in the game. Really it's just that we don't know what the real reason is on why they won't reprint air neos it could be something entirely different than just copyright. I also heard rumors that maybe they had a dispute with the artist. At the end of the day, we'll never find out unless Konami actually tells us (which will probably never happen)
@@darkemperorj356 it may happen but 15 plus years from now from a boomer lol that worker at Konami or if an ex employee comes out and lets us know regardless I hope and pray there is a reprint but regardless as a collector I plan to get a first Ed ultimate copy only bc of the cards value and love but regardless I wish it did get a reprint in common even would be nice !
They also didn't give a crap about kuwagar Hercules until people started using it in bee troopers and it got reprinted in an ots pack. Kuwagar Hercules is just a random insect fusion monster with no effects and no anime or manga ties whatsoever. Elemental Hero Air Neos belongs to one of the most beloved archetypes in the game, was used by a main protagonist, and Neos just got a new set in power of the elements and we got legendary duelist season 3. Both of these sets would have been a perfect opportunity to reprint it, but they didn't. There's clearly something going on behind the scenes we aren't privy to.
The true story is Konami pays artist to draw the cards , and they are not allowed to take public credit for them , some law suit happened between Konami and the artist behind closed doors
However despite that part with Uri Geller VS Pokemon some 20 + years ago where both the Kadabra cards as well as IT not showing up in the anime's anymore back then Nintendo could NOT actually remove the entire Abra line from the POKEMON video games at all back then else a 100% pokedex/national pokedex would be impossible.

Whats the most puzzling to me is that we dont even know what company or even what IP air neos was supposedly copying. And if it was regarding a conflict with an artist, it would be incredibly weird if this was the ONLY situation in over 10k+ artworks that yugioh/konami has published. Mad lobster was absolutely an exception but its somewhat weird that konami hasnt either created a new alt art for the card OR given some sort of vague explaination. They could say something as vague as "it resembled a character too much in an IP that we dont own", which would be SO much better than what we have now
Maybe it's because he looks like Waveraider, Hawkman, The Flash, Carnage, Angel, and also the Silver Suffer all each a little bit of each of thier Marvel Comics, and also DC Comics Superheroes Universe's Main Superheroes Characters?
konami and other ocean seem to be fine, I don't see why it would have something to do with it, because the air neos thing has been going on for years, even if legacy was the last time air neos was in a game, it takes even longer if it reprinted, and it has nothing what to do with kadabra, with what it could look like, if something really happens, it is with ms pacman, that at this moment if namco uses it, pays royalties to those who made a mini pacman console, what a great opportunity, they saw the opportunity and thanks to that mini console, they bought the royalties that another had, from ms pacman, at the expense of namco, that's why they have replaced it, as long as they don't pay anything to anyone

That probably isn’t the case as from what I heard the name similarities don’t matter too much as in business it’s ok to have similar names when the two products/companies are for two completely different fields (ex NeosAir plane transport, and Air Neos a card in a card game)
@@Cryptic_Diamond it depends, if neos air has a trademark over that use of that name then it changes everything as now you are not talking about competing businesses but trademark material and if the company has an incentive to trademark their name and are willing to protect it against any use of it, they have that right. their is a possibility that neosair wanted to stop the printing of neos cards but got into a settlement with Konomi to stop the printing of just air neos while allowing the other neos card to print as the name of the company is neos airline. but at the end of the day we will never actually know unless konami says that its the case.
