Jimmy barnes is a legend.. fantastic singer.. he is great as a solo singer but is also great with his band cold chisel.. Cold chisel is thought to be best band to come out of Australia 🇦🇺 even ahead of AC/DC and INXS. Jimmy has done duets with Tina Turner, INXS and another aussie legend John Farnham Most of Jimmys family can sing as well Please check out cold chisel songs..
Yep, Chisel is my favorite band ever. I honestly believe they are the greatest Australian band ever with the sheer amount of talent they have. Not too many bands have ever had the likes of Barnes and Moss fronting them.
I almost fell off of my chair the first time I heard this. I had never heardof Jimmy Barnes and I knew I had been missing something special. It's not a classically beautiful voice, for sure, but his is a voice that reaches in and touches the soul. Combine that with the guitar of Joe Bonamassa and, for me, you have a song that will be listened to over and over again. Thanks so much for reacting to this, Tommy.
Introduce yourself to the rabbit hole that is Jimmy Barnes - he does pretty much everything from hard rock, to blues, to country, to jazz, to Christmas carols. The guy is a freak and comfortably sits in the top tier of the greatest Australian artists ever.
The whole Barnes family are crazy talented. Jimmy's daughter Mahalia Barnes also has a great duet with Joe Bonamassa, Riding with the Kings. Jimmy also did a duet with the late fabulousTina Turner, Simply the Best. He's an Aussie legend.❤
@@macman1469 I also didn’t mention his son singer David Campbell, Elly- May his other daughter who also sings, wife Jane plays the guitar, and son Jackie plays the drums. Mahalia’s husband, Ben Rogers is a well known singer/songwriter and guitarist too. Then we can’t forget Diesel, Jimmys, brother-in-law another well loved Aussie legend and brilliant singer and guitarist as well. Have I forgotten anyone else in that illustrious talented family?😊

I am a 53yo Australian, followed Barnesy since I was a teenager. He has an amazing voice, and I hope I can introduce you to some amazing songs as a band member with Cold Chisel, as a solo artist and also in various duets. Listening to Jimmy will definitely take you on an amazing music journey.
In my late 60's - saw Cold Chisel live at the Cloudland Ballroom [not too long before it was torn down] great live venue and had a sprung floor for dancing - it moved about an inch with us all jumping in unison - weird sensation!!

53 yrs old in the middle of the States. I was introduced to Barnesy and Chisel about 10 years ago by an Australian guy playing in a band in Switzerland. Chisel has since become my favorite all-time rock band and I can honestly listen to Jimmy and Moss all day and never get tired.
Jimmy has rediculous amounts of power and control. He can also sing very gentle with a gentle and VERY soft croon when he needs to. His live in the studio, just the two of them, cover of Fire And Rain with the gorgeous and equally talented Marcia Hines. A must watch. And his Christmas Carols By Candelight cover of "You'll Never Walk Alone" that he sung with his adult son David Campbell.
How have I not heard Jimmy Barnes before now? Amazing! Love the brass section, and as always Joe Bonamassa playing the strings off that guitar! Really great vid and reaction. ♥

Hearing Jimmy Barnes makes me feel nostalgic. I never expected seeing "Barnesy" on the channel. It evokes memories of my younger days, hearing my Dad, and brother playing Cold Chisel (Jimmy's band), classic Aussie rock - songs like Khe Sanh, Flaming Trees, Cheap Wine.. I don't listen to this music usually but whenever I hear it or other classic Aussie bands I tend to listen and have a trip down memory lane. What a surprising Patreon recommendation, just goes to show what a diverse bunch we have here, and that's awesome.

It's interesting as an Aussie, who spent her late teens, 20's and onwards with Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes being an integral part of life, to hear the amazement and appreciation of someone who we all just know as Barnsey. Gives me a new ( and honestly a more sober 😂) appreciation of his talent. Local boy to me too ❤
Whenever reacting to Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, they should be live as their performances are a show in themselves. I think Jimmy's voice got richer thru the years.

For me Jimmy is best vocalist ever weather he’s singing blues or hard rock or anything on between and he’s done it all over the years he is king! Jimmy could sing the phone book and I’d love it ❤😂
What you said about loneliness is spot on. There was a anesthesiologist video that I watched. They get to see people's inner thoughts as they wake. It is things that they don't remember. He said gen y and z are the loneliest generation. I can see that somewhat due to covid, But also due to how we spend our time remotely. We don't d😮o a lot of face-to-face anymore. Anyway I definitely enjoy Jones and Joe, and I can get down with the blues any day. It is a great surprise and reaction thank you ❤ and ✌️
Check out his collaboration with John Farnham and Diesel too - When Something Is Wrong With My Baby: th-cam.com/video/ihsfx1LuoKc/w-d-xo.html Aussie rock is another rabbit hole for you to fall down (after the J-Metal one).
I'll always sub for Barnsey❤. This man is an absolute icon here in Australia. A career spanning 50+ years. Jimmy is 67yrs old and still packing venues. I'll be seeing him next month
Jimmy has the most number 1 albums in Australia, and his original band, Cold Chisel, are considered Gods. Check out their song Bow River live Ringside. The band has 2 lead singers amazingly and the other bloke, Ian Moss, has a voice to die for. Back to Jimmy...he sings multiple genres (rock, blues, soul) but my favourites are his ballads. He's got 5 decades of music for you to discover and he doesn't have a bad song...he's also a songwriter.
