Also check out Jimmy's daughter Mahalia singing with Joe Bonamassa on Riding with The Kings. Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham - When Something Is Wrong With My Baby is also a stand out performance of two Aussie legends.
Australian legends….Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing “When something is wrong with my baby” or John singing live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra “Help”…..You won’t regret it❤❤❤🦘🦘🇦🇺
Jimmy Barnes is an Australian singer formerly with the rock group Cold Chisel (hmmm, that group might be worth a look). Joe Bonamassa is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. I think that, together, they are pure perfection. I'm just learning about them and I think I'm going to be taking a closer look at both of them to see what their solo careers are like.
Cold Chisel is definitely worth a look!!!! All amazing musicians, two lead singers and all the band members wrote songs (they have a really wide-ranging catalogue).
Have a listen to “Bow River” with Jimmy Barnes backing up Ian Moss on lead vocals. There is also a great harmonica rift through the performance. “the Chisels” were a great group. Grüße aus Australien. Tschüss.
Jimmy is clearly singing this song to his beloved wife of 40 years, Jane. They met when he was at his worst in terms of his drinking and drug taking. He was downing a bottle of vodka during every Cold Chisel show. She turned him around, and he has managed to maintain a massive career because of her, and their kids.
The best soul voice alive today, Barnsey has knocked our socks off since the 1970’s. Have a look at A Change is Gonna Come or Many Rivers to Cross you’ll be in tears ! Also the acapella version of O Holy Night I put together myself- so beautiful and really shows his phenomenal range.
This has to be one of my favourite performances by Jimmy. His vocals combined by joes guitar skills take this to another level, this is what music is all about. You should check out Jimmy Barnes with his band Cold Chisel “bow river” and “when the war is over” live Ringside 2003
Jimmy is a legend...he's been singing since the 1970s, sings multiple genres (mainly rock), been in THE rock band, Cold Chisel, and has the most best selling albums in Australian history, plus he was a loose cannon when young...what is not to like?
Definitely look at Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" and also try Cold Chisel doing a cover of "Wild Thing". Jimmy was a lead singer of Cold Chisel back in the day. Or review Jimmy Batmes and Tina Turner singing "Simply the Best"
I can’t imagine anyone trying to sing this song and being able to give it justice the way Jimmy does. This song works solely because of Jimmy’s vocals and passion. When I hear this song it takes me back to the 90’s when life was carefree and uncomplicated. I actually remember driving back to Sydney from Bright in Victoria in about 1987/1988 and we stopped at a servo somewhere in the southern highlands and seeing Jimmy filing up his car too. I remember thinking he wasn’t as tall as I had thought he would be.
Much love from Perth Western Australia as we love our legendary singer Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel the band he was apart of til he went solo and became Australia's greatest rock singer ❤❤❤
I mainly watch Home Free reactions due to time constraints, but always watch this one when it comes up. Loved your reaction, it mirrored everything that I feel about it. Soooo good. Another one I watch whenever I can is a much younger Jimmy singing simply the best with Tina Turner. It's magic too 🪄. Thank you ❤
This song gives me goosebumps. Love Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel & also Home Free. Joe Bonamassa is amazing. Also throw in anything from the phenomenal John Farnham & I'll be happy ❤ Great reaction.
A great love song performed by 2 legends who are masters of their craft. This is what real music is like. Love your reaction. Your comments are spot on.
This is when he's calm, you want to hear him rock out! Check the cover of "wild thing" he sang fronting the band "Cold Chisel" - live at the Last Stand concert series. Incredible power and captured the essence of the song - you'll never hear a better version, even though he was drunk as a skunk when they did it
One thing about Barnsey is her is always singing with the best musicians around. This is a perfect example of musical talent in this rendition to celebrate 30 years of this song.......
Jimmy's a National Treasure in Australiaa Scottish migrant who came to Adelaide with his family when he was very young,he fronted a great blues band "Cold Chisel" he continues to record and impress everyone. Check out 'As the day goes By'/Darrell Braithwaite,he's incredible!!!!
❤ from Australia. Please react to more Jimmy barnes and Cold Chisel. It’s worth a look at Jimmy singing “goodtimes with another Australian band INXS. Also jimmy 😊 duet with John Farnham is great too
Maria, Jimmy is an Aussie icon. Please explore his works with his band Chisel as well as duets. You will be blown away. We in Australia love, love, love Jimmy Barnes. Loved your reaction ❤❤❤
Have subbed for this. Jimmy - the sexiest voice ever. I'm pretty sure 1000s of babies have been conceived to this song lol. I've been a huge fan since the 70s when he was with Cold Chisel.
Seeing as you are now hooked on the Australian Legend Jimmy Barnes I won't suggest any of his song's many others will. You said you love this kind of voice and blusey soul so I will say you need to check out The Teskey Brothers singing Hold Me live at the forum. Josh Teskey has an incredibly bluesy soul sound and is full of emotion. You will put this on your play list guaranteed. The Teskey Brothers are also Australian
Hi again from Perth Western Australia and I'd love to tell you that Cold Chisel and Barnsey are reuniting for their 50thyr Anniversary... can't wait and so looking forward to them playing all these LEGENDARY CLASSICS ❤❤
So many good tunes to react to with Jimmy Barnes including his era with Cold Chisel. He is absolutely worth reacting to. My favourite artist in fact. 🎉🎉🎉
Joe , the guitarist was voted the best living blues guitarist while Jimmy is a legend in Australia, this is a room full of blues greats playing this song
Love it too ❤ I try and listen to it regularly. we are a proud bunch . 😎You gotta go down the Aussie rabbit hole and branch down into the ladies ; gentlemen; bands; events; fundraisers Have fun 🎉
Joe Bonamassa is a very deep rabbit hole worth exploring because he partners with many great blues musicians from all over the world. He is a true guitar prodigy, learned to play guitar at a very young age and was performing professionally at age nine. At age twelve he toured and opened for the blues legend BB King during his summer vacation. He has so many great songs that I don't know where to start but like with many other great musicians he seems to feed off of the audience which makes his live performances even better than his studio stuff. Have you heard of Beth Hart? Beth and Joe did three albums together including their live in Amsterdam DVD. Their cover of Etta James' I'd Rather Go Blind is just as amazing as this song.
Hi, new subscriber here! A little story for you. Many, many years ago, VH1 was showing a program called 'My Top Ten': musical stars of the day talk about their top ten favourite tracks. Anyway, one time it was on and a guy goes, "When I'm in my dressing room getting my voice ready for the gig, I always play this song because this guy shows me how it's done." When Jimmy started singing, my wife and I came from different rooms with the same facial expression: mouths agog at his voice! Oh, the singer who always played this song to show himself how it's done? Er, that would be Meat Loaf.
Jimmy Barnes is hands down the best male vocalist ever in my opinion and Joe Bonamassa just happens to be my all around favorite guitarist . Jimmy's daughter Mahalia is one of Joe Bonamassas backup singers and you should check her out !!!!
As JM Forbes commented below Joe Bonamassa is one of the best blues guitarists. Joe also has great voice! For a jaw dropping video watch him in battle of the strings with Tina Guo on cello. He sings in that video too Loved your reaction!
Can I suggest "When the War is Over" by Cold Chisel Live Ringside in 2003? (Jimmy Barnes is one of two lead singers with the band. He duets with Ian Moss in it. They have contrasting voices that work spectacularly together.)
Now that you’ve heard Jimmy sing, I thought you might like to hear him sing with his band Cold Chisel th-cam.com/video/TdVRNDnTKTU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MxWEqXJ0bO_QYfEw. The guitarist singing is Ian Moss, Jimmy is walking around singing with his microphone. I hope you enjoy it.
Yes definitly Bow River Cold Chisel and this is the best version the Ringside live footage. Such a chill awesome song and the vocals from both Ian and Jimmy are fire.
You should watch them do lazy Top musos jamming with jimmy's voice Also joe does one with jimmys daughter Mahala barnes she like her dad Someone will be able t9 tell you what song she sings with joe Jimmy is a Aussie ledgen singer By the way jimmy in his 50s and only getting better Cheers mate🦘🇦🇺👍
Jimmy is actually 67 years young, born on 28th April 1956, but probably in his 50's when he sung this tune. He was only 16 and a half when he started in Chisel. He has 50 years of music to review. He is my favourite artist ever ❤
For something that shows a bit more of Joe Bonamassa's playing you should check out his version of a song called "boogie woogie woman" its live at the Greek Theatre and its amazing, his whole band is on point and joes playing is top level ❤😊
Oh you're in for a treat - with nearly 50 years of solo work for Jimmy Barnes and as front man of the greatest rock band out of Australia ever Cold Chisel - his back catalogue is huge. A couple you'll love will be Change is gonna come - a cover off his first solo album , sadly neglected by many but a regular in his live sets all the way through, and blues classic. th-cam.com/video/Gv7wD2-yGdg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AussieTV Bow River - Cold Chisel - live on the Ringside tour 2003 - gives you a taste of how good this band is. th-cam.com/video/TdVRNDnTKTU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BruceBarber
have a look at Jimmy doing "working class man" it is quite old but goodness it is brilliant. He is so in love with his wife Jane - they have been married for ages and have chidren and granchildren lovely family of talented peole
Yes, Jimmy is great! but now you have to go down the rabbit hole😆... 1st watch another of our Australian Icons - John Farnham affectionately know as "the Voice", he is Music Royaltiy here, then put them together and it's a wipeout. John doing "Help" (a beatles cover) one of the encores at the end of the 2+ hr concert mid 80s th-cam.com/video/dv54giOSRKs/w-d-xo.html then both together doing an old Sam Cook number 1990 th-cam.com/video/8gzH9qk8cOc/w-d-xo.html you definitely won't be disappointed. 💞 The Aussie Army will be watching for your reactions🤩

Your smile throughout says it all! Jimmy Barnes is a true National Treasure. Wishing him a speedy recovery from his recent heart surgery.
