The Dazed And Confused is note-for-note the live version from the original Song Remains the Same soundtrack--not the later remixed/remastered one that chose different performances from the 3-night run at MSG. Amazing!
Yes, got to see a great one b4 he gets old. Fantastic show, gave it his all! Love the Theremin work he does on various songs. He put a smile on London's face on this one!
Cool show, it’s a pleasure to watch Joe Bonamassa play the guitar, listen to the sound of the guitar, pay attention to the drummer’s playing, he’s just fire, he played at the same tempo and didn’t stop, I mentally applaud the guys! 👏👏👏
I think Joe is one of those artists you need to see live (which I’ve not done, yet) to fully appreciate. The man is beast with a guitar! Excellent reaction guys, love you both for your commentary! Cheers…😊
There is a savage beast in every man, and when you hand Joe a guitar and put him on stage, it's war, and the beast in him comes forth. Great song, guys. Love your commentary. His guitar duel with Clapton at the Royal Alber Hall playing FURTHER ON UP THE ROAD is a It is an excellent video of Old School and New School Icons. NOTE: The Bass Player is killing it through the entire song (damn).
He does a killer version with Eric Clapton of Further On Up the Road at The Royal Albert Hall. He requested Eric to play with him. Eric asked "which song" and Joe chose it. Icon with the Iconic!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡️This is killer!! 💥
I know, I’ve had this Album since it came out. A good friend turned me on too Joe. If you want to hear some great playing by him. Check out the song 3rd Degree. He’s playing one of Leslie West’s last albums. It’s all good brother
Love Joe. He's fantastic. I remember walking into a cd/record store and the clerk was playing a song by him. I went to him and said "Who is that?" I need that album. He told me and I bought it on the spot after only hearing one song. Never regretted it. Still have it.
On this cover, Joe Bonamassa added riffs from dazed and confused (Zeppelin), he is also known to add in riffs from still of the night (Whitesnake). Honorable mention is his use of the theremin during his guitar solo. Thats where some of the ‘strange sounds’ are made. The theremin was also used in the Beach Boys’ song Good Vibrations. He’s just versatile 😊. Thanks for the reaction
#GOATBluesRockPerformer #BonamassaIstheGOAT Tributes to all the Greats: Page, Bonham and JPJ ... even some EVH and we haven't even discussed his vocals and swag! I knew when I heard him as a 12 year old prodigy that he would someday be #BluesKing Thumbs up guys! I can see it on your faces...you have just been baptized by Joe B!
I’ve seen Joe live a half dozen times, and he always delivers. His touring band has to be one of the top lineups going these days. He has a backup singer that sounds like Aretha, a piano player that played with SRV and a drummer that was in the Letterman band for decades. Unfortunately he lost his bass player to cancer earlier this year (Michael Rhodes). He also features a horn section in the current road show, Seeing Joe live is nothing short of a beautiful wall of sound. Maybe look at doing his live performance of ‘Going Down or Angel Of Mercy - Live from the Greek Theater’.
I didn’t know Anton Fig plays live with Joe. In addition to being a terrific drummer he’s a funny guy-at least he was when he was with Letterman. Another Lerrermen band alum (Steve Jordan) took over timekeeping for Charlie Watts (after 59 years) in the Rolling Stones, hand picked for the job by Charlie himself before he died 2 years ago. Jordan was also the drummer who played with Neil Young on his 1989 explosive 🧨 SNL performance of Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World.
So happy to say I was there, the whole night was just awesome even though the only tickets we could get meant we were stood right at the top on the gods.
Loved Black Country Communion . Still got 3 cd’s . Those and some PBS shows at Albert Hall and I was a Bonomasser. He plays with everybody and doesn’t demand spotlight even though it usually finds him especially during solos.🎸🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
I like Joe. He's a solid guitar player and he has a hell of a vintage guitar and vintage amp collection. He's got hundreds. There's some YT videos out there with him touring his collection that are pretty cool.
Joe playin tribute to the guitar legends B4 him! Love to see ya get back to some ZZ. So much more just got back from baby’s , drivin while blind , nasty dogs and funky kings. 🔥
I saw this guy for the first time up in NH and was blown away. The audience was deeply into it. I wasn't a fan, I was brought there against my will. Big fan now!
lucky to see joe live a couple of times, great experience......love when joe teams up with beth hart, as an older guy i close my eyes and its the closest thing to jimi and janis....just a great blues/rock duo!!!
Privileged to see him live ..Tremendous . One hell of a guitarist and a great band . Checkout the Red Rocks(Muddy Wolf) show ..❤❤Happy weekend to you both ❤❤
Joe is great and always has top tier musicians in his band. For his more rock side check out the supergroup Black Country Communion with Joe Glenn Hughes Jason Bonham. They have their 5th album coming out in Feb 2024😊
Joe is one of the premier blues guitarists working today! As you can see his live shows are always killer. Wonderful transition into Led Zeppelin on this track; if you’re in the mood for another great guitarist check out Joe Satriani another unique and intense guitarist and band. Have a great weekend gentlemen 👋🏾🙏🏾✌🏾😊
I agree! The Surfing With The Alien album was one of 4 very strong albums that (I feel) broke new ground in 1988 AND have held up very nicely since. I was selling compact discs at the time and witnessed these 4 albums take on lives of their own as they broke and the bands toured tirelessly. Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction Living Colour - Vivid (edited from self titled) (I can’t wait for La and Che to discover this one!) Melissa Etheridge - Melissa Etheridge (her 12 string sometimes needs a cigarette when she finishes a song, especially Like The Way I Do and Somebody Bring Me Some Water. As a lyricist and a musician she strikes me as what we would have if Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan had had a kid together. 🔥
I spent a lot of time with Joe's bassist here Carmine Rojas who played with Rod Stewart, David Bowie to name but a few. What a great band and performers. You won't meet a more talented or nicer guy than Carmine. :)
Joe B has done so much for the genre of blues with his "Keeping the Blues Alive" cruise each year. You might check out "Takin' the Hit Live from Rockpalast." One of the greatest displays of guitar I've ever heard.
A couple of clear references/shout outs by Joe in this one--starting with Jeff Beck's riff for Ain't Superstitious. Then he plays much of Jimmy Page's solo on "Dazed and Confused".
Band is going nuts here. Bass indeed is great and Joe does what he loves. I've Seen Joe live in my home country the Netherlands and that was awesome. Nice reaction guys. Rock on!
Joe had a 3 night performance where every night was a different style. One night was acoustic blues which was fantastic and very stripped down. Mostly he plays slower songs than this but he likes to stretch his chops once in a while. He has a great guitar collection.
I have seen Joe play several times and he is a beast!! He always surrounds himself with incredible musicians!! Sloe Gin is the closest thing he has ever had to being a “hit”.. Another great reaction guys and I must say I envy your lid collection!!!👏👏
Legendary Anton Fig, The Drummer who's played with more Superstars than any other Drummer. He was David Letterman's Drummer with Paul Shaffer. I need to know what happened at @6:09 Joe went into another dimension for 20 seconds.
IMHO Joe is the greatest living guitar player in the world seen him 4 times always a treat every song fantstic I hope someday to catch him in concert with Beth Hart pairing made in heaven. They often plaay together. Ive also seen Beth and shes another force of nature
Y'all are my favorite reaction channel. No fooling around with extravagant opening and you know music like chemists know elements. I watch a lot of your reactions sitting in my garagemahall and all I can do is like them.
Hey guys, great to see you. Finally Joe. More Joe please. By himself, and Beth Hart. You won't be disappointed !! Thank you. Stay well, and popping for fresh
That was his first performance at Royal Albert Hall he turned 32 a couple days before this show. That's a complication of 2-3 (4lol) songs and it's what they ended show with. At this pt he'd been a working musician since 12 touring that summer with BBKing. Billy Gibbons had used a flying V for just got pd at one point. The bass player was Carmine Rojas! Think David Bowie among others. Great reaction! Joe has gotten better and better I don't see how but it's true! ❤ Edit: please react to "ill take care if you" beacon theater Joe and Beth Hart.
He can sing too! And doesn't sound a bit like his geeky speaking voice! However, every once in a while, his geekness comes out on stage, like throwing his shades into the audience. He revealed that the line about his "light sensitivity" is BS, and looked more like a geek (the real reason he wears them) in one move!😅
Several bands have used two drummers*, though JB usually only uses one. I think this was a special deal for the UK. *Allman Brothers Tedeschi/Trucks Band etc. Being a drummer, I generally think it's a waste of resources. Give me a keyboard any day!
Check out the band Joe Bonamassa played with 10 or so years ago > " Black Country Communion " and the song "COLD" played live with Jason Bonham on drums and Glen Hughes on vocals , you will be blown away !
You gotta love his use of the theremin for feedback. Another great cover he does is Deep Purple "Lazy" Guitar is a Gibson Flying "V", looks like a '72 or '73 model.
That thing making the electronic noises is a theremin, the first ever all-electronic instrument. Jimmy Page used one in the psychedelic middle part of Whole Lotta Love, and always played it in concert too. Bonamassa's great and has incredible guitar collection. I'm sure that's some super rare vintage Gibson Flying V he's playing. When he's playing the real fast, fluid and complicated leads, he sounds so much like Eric Johnson. You guys should check out some of his stuff. Bonamassa supposedly apologizes to Eric about stealing his style.
While this “cover” of “Just Got Paid Today (ZZ Top)/Dazed And Confused (Led Zeppelin)” by Joe Bonamassa was an amazing Rock’n-Roll rendition, Mr. Bonamassa is much more well known for his Blues music, and especially for his live performances.. should Airplay Beats choose to explore more of JB’s music, I hope it will be some of those performances/songs. Transitions right into the Jimmy Page "Dazed and Confused" solo and back out again like he's tuning up. What a BEAST!
You didn’t mention that the opening was Jeff Beck’s “I Ain’t Superstitious”. Joe is a Master
Oh hell yes!
The Dazed And Confused is note-for-note the live version from the original Song Remains the Same soundtrack--not the later remixed/remastered one that chose different performances from the 3-night run at MSG. Amazing!
He’s definitely making that guitar talk😂🔥
Must see Joe live to appreciate his true greatness.
Next week!
Yes, got to see a great one b4 he gets old. Fantastic show, gave it his all! Love the Theremin work he does on various songs. He put a smile on London's face on this one!
I have.
And don’t be late to Joe’s show. Seen him twice and both times he started playing at the exact starting time.
Thay man's foot hits the stage at 8pm "SHARP" there's only a handful that it's happened and it wasn't because of Joe.
Been a fan forever Joe got fingers and soul love him my boy slammin
Love this one by Joe you are going to love it guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Goosebumps all over, every time listening to this fantastic music.
Real Rock and Blues are still Alive. Go Joe.
Whoa, just saw this appear and listening now. Thanks for reacting to fantastic Joe. I've seen him once, so far....
Y'all are the best!
He does a killer version with Eric Clapton of Further On Up the Road at The Royal Albert Hall. He requested Eric to play with him. Eric asked "which song" and Joe chose it. Icon with the Iconic!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡️This is killer!! 💥
I’m with you on that one. And they just complemented each other so well. And you could see Clapton was having a blast 😎
This was his earlier gear setup, 4 amps, massive. I like it so much better than the all Fender line up he's using now.
I know, I’ve had this Album since it came out. A good friend turned me on too Joe. If you want to hear some great playing by him. Check out the song 3rd Degree. He’s playing one of Leslie West’s last albums. It’s all good brother

He is awesome live. Comes through Sac most years. Worth a see for you two! He's got a really interesting back story, opened for BB King at age 12.
Joe B is today's blues rock King...an argument could be made for Eric Gales....but they're both GOATs!!!
Thanks for this one !

One of my favorites from Joe Bonamassa. Enjoy it!
🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸👍
He's a tradition here where I live. Comes around every holiday season locally. I should go see him!
Oh hell yeah 😮Joe is fantastic that V kills
The very beginning was the riff from Jeff Beck's version of "Ain't Superstitious" .
oh yeah good catch...I heard that...sooo good!
his live version of I'll Take Care of You with Beth Hart is a classic. You'll love Beth Hart, too, one helluva singer.
absolutely, brings back great memories of the one and only janis joplin, love listening to beth particulaly with joe!!
I spent a lot of time with Joe's bassist here Carmine Rojas who played with Rod Stewart, David Bowie to name but a few. What a great band and performers. You won't meet a more talented or nicer guy than Carmine. :)
Two drummers? Well, why not? Joe seriously rocks this cover.
I'm not sure if you guys noticed that the 2nd half of the song was Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused.
Noticed my fav work from Jimmy Controlled chaos at its best Respect to Joe though
This entire performance is phenomenal. The song by right this is Mountain Time which is played great live. Sloe Gin in also a show stopper.
Revisited 3 70's songs there. Great stuff
Once he started in with harmonics on the 12th fret I thought it sounded like Dazed and Confused… soon enough it went into the riff! Amazing playing
no denying the talent on that stage. nice version of a classic tune.
Thanks for sharing this. Excellent reaction fellas!Appreciate you 👏

Dazed and Confused- Led Zeppelin. Thank you, Jimmy.
Echoed through that same building in Jan.,1970. Pretty cool.
A couple of clear references/shout outs by Joe in this one--starting with Jeff Beck's riff for Ain't Superstitious. Then he plays much of Jimmy Page's solo on "Dazed and Confused".
You beat me to it.
The man is a Beast
Give a listen / watch his Live at the Greek Theatre DVD just incredible playing and the energy is off the charts.
Band is going nuts here. Bass indeed is great and Joe does what he loves. I've Seen Joe live in my home country the Netherlands and that was awesome. Nice reaction guys. Rock on!
One of the greatest mashups! Joe's definitely one of the BEST! He knows how to put on a show for sure! Thanks for the reaction.😊
Joe shreds. 🥁☮☘
All played on Albert Kings’s Flying V!!
Got to see them about 10 years ago. 7 rows back, center stage. Unforgettable!
Joe had a 3 night performance where every night was a different style. One night was acoustic blues which was fantastic and very stripped down. Mostly he plays slower songs than this but he likes to stretch his chops once in a while. He has a great guitar collection.

You would love Joe's cover of Deep Purple's "Lazy" with Jimmy Barnes on vocals.
Black Country Communion has got Joe, Glenn Hughes {Black Sabbath, Deep Purple] Derick Sherinian[Dream Theatre], and Jason Bonham.

Had the privilege of seeing Smokin' Joe live and I will hopefully seeing him live again in a couple weeks!

Loved the Dazed & Confused tribute to LZ in this great performance. Joe B is one of one too. Just like Marvin. 🔥🔥
Have you ever seen 2 drummers with a group! Adds so much depth to the music!!
Several bands have used two drummers*, though JB usually only uses one. I think this was a special deal for the UK.
*Allman Brothers
Tedeschi/Trucks Band
etc.
Being a drummer, I generally think it's a waste of resources. Give me a keyboard any day!
BB King's guitar ,,, Joe has an amazing guitar collection ! Thing with Joe is that he plays them !!
Happier Times from same show. Or Sloe Gin.
That time ZZ Top morphed into Zeppelin. Nice! 😮
Joe - YES!! The whole group is tight!!
The bassist Carmine Rojas worked with a bunch of greats Bowie for one. This concert was the turning point in Joe's career. 🦁
Teasing Londoners with a Jeff Beck lick, then switches continents on them 😂
I saw this guy at the Altria Theatre in Richmond…used to be the Mosque/Landmark.Great venue.
Joe absolutely rips on a 58 Gibson Korina Explorer worth north of 300 k .. Absolute monster
Joe f'ing rocks. The best blues/rock guitar player since SRV.
1st time I saw Joe he was touring with SRV!!! ❤🎉
Joe's guitar had to smoke a cigarette after that performance.
The drummer on the left is the great Anton Fig from the David Letterman band.
Joe is one of the best of a dying breed....called, musicians.
Bogie Bowles is the other drummer. Anton Fig replaced Peter Criss in Kiss for 2 albums and also did the Ace Frehley solo album.
Check out the band Joe Bonamassa played with 10 or so years ago > " Black Country Communion " and the song "COLD" played live with Jason Bonham on drums and Glen Hughes on vocals , you will be blown away !
You gotta love his use of the theremin for feedback.
Another great cover he does is Deep Purple "Lazy"
Guitar is a Gibson Flying "V", looks like a '72 or '73 model.
Just start my day! 😂
It was his dream from a little kid to play that venue. That Flying V guitar is worth about as much as my house. lol.
1958 Gibson Flying V guitar. I normally don't prefer the tone of V's but Joe makes it nice!
Incredible Guitarist
One of the more unknown guitar talents.
He throws some Zeppelin into the mix.
yes, a little ..dazed and confused... nice!!
All that respect for Page just exploded on stage! sooo freakin' good!
i started listening to Joe because he reminds me so much of SRV
That thing making the electronic noises is a theremin, the first ever all-electronic instrument. Jimmy Page used one in the psychedelic middle part of Whole Lotta Love, and always played it in concert too. Bonamassa's great and has incredible guitar collection. Yeah he's another one of those wizards fellas 🤟🏾 great pick
Joe was playing on stage with BB King when he was 13 years old and you can't do that unless you are phenomenal
You guys need to hear the other version he did with "still of the night, by white snake part"... I love both versions..!
A few suggestions would be:
- “Slow Train” (studio);
- “I Just Want To Take Care Of You” (live w/ Beth Hart, 🔥);
- “Down Around My Place” (live w/ John Hiatt, ⚡️);
- “Sloe Gin” (live, solo, 💥);
there are many more to consider, but the 3 above are pretty much my favorites; regardless, can’t go wrong with JB❗️
✌️Fellas, keep up the good work ‼️👍😀
That little antenna he was near is a theremin and distorts sound as you move around it.
good knowledge! ...and again took a page from Page...lol
@@GTLyons ...and a lot of 1950's Sci-Fi movies 😄
Looks like Bonamassa has taken over Clapton's residency at Royal Albert Hall?
You've found Joe now open up his band Black County Communion. 🔥🔥🔥 John Bonhams son Jason is the drummer. You will LOVE
Going tonight to the Fox Theater in St. Louis to see Joe Bonamassa …
Hope Warren Haynes or Beth Hart sit in. Thanks for the reaction, big fan!
Enjoy the concert!! Let us know how it goes!!
I don't really listen to his music very much, but man would I love to hang with him and talk gear.
What can ya say , Mr Bonamassa is just a really talented guy on the electric twanger.
Drummer with the hat is Anton Fig. He was the drummer with Paul Schaefer on David Letterman forever.
Drummer without the hat is Bogie Bowles. 😀
