My back hurts from doing some yard work. Watching Lucy's face when she saw Diana walking toward them HILARIOUS. I started to laugh and now my back hurts like HELL. Lucy's expression is EVERYTHING
This is how gorgeous Barbara Eden was : born in 1931, she was 26 in this skit, though she looks 20. She was in her mid-30s when she rocked that genie outfit. What a gorgeous feminine freak of nature
You're close, however, her birthday is in August (just like now in 2022). The episode in is entitled Country Club Dance [film date: March 21, 1957/air date: April 22, 1957]; therefore, Barbara Eden was still 25 at the time of this episode.
@@natashatomlinson4548 I do have a habit to do calendar math for people's ages from their births onward; for those who are still with us, they'll add additional years according to their respective birthdays (example: Eddie Murphy's birthday being on April 3; thus turning 61 this year on that specific date [he was born in 1961]); for those who are deceased, their lives end on various date throughout each of every year, and most often than not, less than everyone has had been unable to reach the year of age they were bound to turn. What's so great about this episode shows how Brilliant Lucy was, she choreographed the whole scene, down to the way the dress on Barbra sparkled, like it did. Lucy did tell her the dress looked great on her so she should keep it.
Barbara Eden had the nicest things to say about Lucy. She said the first time she tried on the dress Lucy said "Do you like the dress?" Barbara said she wasn't going to say she didn't like anything, she was a newcomer. Lucy said "Take it off!" Then Lucy and her assistant spent the rest of the week sewing on sparkling grommets to the dress to give it that little something. I just noticed here that she's not sitting up; I'm guessing that the dress is too tight. 😂I've had to do that a few times myself eons ago, that is.
Luckily Barbara Eden did not use her blinking powers to create chaos from all that jealousy. I always thought I Love Lucy should have done a "Bewitched" type of fantasy episode where new neighbors move into the NYC apartment and the wife is a witch. However it would have been difficult to film the special effects with a live audience. Bewitched never had a live audience while they were filming.
