    As pro bodybuilders keep dropping dead from insane drug use and unrealistic training routines,it's nice to see a healthy and safe way to keep your body strong.

      My sentiments exactly Lou. I want my exercise program to keep me strong and mobile for daily living.

      My friend they drop dead because of the drugs. Most of the times it's injuries that happen from extreme training. And most of the times it is because they are doing isolation exercises.

    Hey Greg! Great video and channel. I'm 48 and was born with mild cerebral palsy. Thanks in part to the Carnivore diet, dynamic tension, isometrics and the light dumbbell routine, I have rocked a six pack for the past ten years, and continue to be in the best shape of my life. You rock!

      The carnivore diet can be almost magical for chronic issues.

    Hey Greg, I guess that bug didn’t stand a chance!
    While performing self resistance arm exercises I like to pause at the end of the concentric portion of the movement, inhale, and exhale as I utilize the eccentric portion as the concentric for the opposite muscle. And then reverse the process, increasing the time under tension while I decrease the time spent exercising by getting two movements done in the time it takes for one. I also find this helps me to remember to breathe.
    Keep the videos coming!

      Good way of creating efficiency in your workout!

    • @nortondumont9711
      @nortondumont9711 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know, I may not actually be increasing the time under tension though. Just a state of constant concentric tension only on both sides. Perhaps this does an injustice to Atlas’s sysytem since the eccentric can be adequately performed with it as well.
      I guess an important part I omitted was that I like to do this variation after the chair push-ups, when my arms have experienced a bit of eccentric stimulation already.
      Thanks for affording me the time to comment and clarify.

      @@nortondumont9711 Not really since the Atlas course was more of a template and guideline as opposed to a specific workout pattern. I think this gives the individual a chance to explore their own creativity.

    Always good to see more self resistance training on youtube, do you lift weights as well or work a manual labor job? or did you build yourself up on dynamic tension and calisthenics?

    • @lionquestexercise7054
      @lionquestexercise7054  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No weights for a couple of decades now. I teach law enforcement and firefighting as a living. I lift my bodyweight as far as pullups, pushups and free hand squats. I lifted weights on and off with martial arts until my early forties. I was pretty busted up and washed out by then. Self resistance, bodyweight exercises and isometrics gave me a new release on staying mobile and fit.

      @@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Remember, I am 61, I have to be careful about overtraining. The joints can't take a pounding anymore. The recovery is not there. The workouts are staggered with upper body two days a week, lower body two days a week and martial arts two days a week. Workouts are an hour long. Ten minutes of stretching and breathing exercises, 30-40 minutes of what I am focusing on and then 10 minutes of stretching.

    The Triceps should be getting just as much work from the Hammer Curls as the brachioradialis (long head of bicep).
    The resistance works both ways when performed correctly.

      I'm still on it. Basically it saves wear and tear on the joints, you recover faster, and you have more energy. You also can fit these exercises into a busy lifestyle. Downside? It takes more time to do one limbed movements.
