I had been using fritzing but wanted something a little more professional, came across DipTrace and realized I have no idea wth I'm doing. Thanks to your video alone it's like I've used this the whole time. Thank you.
Hi iviacrnec, thanks for sharing! I tired the panelizing option this morning and i agree, its much easier / better way of duplicating! I'll leave a detailed comment in the video on how to do it. Thanks again!
Hey mate! another great video! thanks a lot for this very easy to understand starting point! im trying to apply it to the sound2light veroboard layout. just don't get it yet the copper pour stuff....its really necessary? cheers Paul
How do you deal with off board components like 3pdt switches etc? Do you make your own custom patterns? Great tutorial. Learned tons. I'm designing a splitter/distribution amp in schematic mode. I'm working through it but it's taking a while. Bit of a learning curve. Your tutorials helped me immensely.
Np Chris, I have a tutorial series coming up showing start to end how to design a single layer board for etch and double layer board for fabricating. Stay tuned for those!
dude, I love your stuff. You dont know how helpful this shizzle is to me at the moment but you're a lifesaver. I always find your vids very helpful & informative, no bollox or shite talk, you just say how it is & thats what people need. Nicely done mate, now off to watch the pcb board making vid. keeping doing what you do \m/ \m/
Thanks for this! I was incredibly frustrated, I just wanted a VERY simple layout but found all the software packages completely unintuitive. 20 mins after downloading this, I have my design completed.
Hi nice tutorial, ill watch the rest in the morning as its late and I need to sleep but I have a question. I did a search earlier about converting a .jpg to gerber and I saw someone write that you can import the .jpg into dip trace (as a reference image I'm guessing) and then draw your pads and track over the top. How you ever done this or know how it might be done? Could be useful if you want to duplicate an existing PCB from a photograph.
To do a multiple copy of a board use edit -> panelizing option. When you do it with this tool, you can change something on one board, and it changes automatically one every copy. Before you do that, you must place board outline.
Try using circuit wizard, it is a much better program. Always in 3D. You could rotate parts without the traces getting all screwed up. The library is a bit limited though.
You should download rullywows excellent guitar effects library. It has all the common component sizes such as leds, caps, resistors, diodes, etc, plus it even has things like enclosed pcb mount jacks, footswitchs, potentiometers etc, very easy to use and completely cuts out the battle to find the right size components.
hello. I m having trouble finding a proper component for 3dpt foot switch and 6.5 mm stereo socket. i am trying to design a board with all the elements connected to the pcb without any wires connecting the pots, jacks and switches. thank you.
+Shrawal Rp Maybe check rullywows diptrace library, you can get it on madbean forum (you will need to be a member). Its under the "cadsoft eagle" subsection of the forum. Good resources in there as well! Cheers
I am wondering the exact same thing. From the looks of it a copper pour is standard even when facing through OSH Park, but I have no idea why people do it.
For all your guitar pedal electronics needs, be sure to check out our store. Thank you for your support! www.diyguitarpedals.com.au/shop/
would be great to get a whole series on this on how to create a pcb like this from the start! good work bud, watched most of your vids!
Thanks for this...I had a couple things I just couldn't get right and you helped a lot. Greatly appreciated!
Beautiful! Been wondering how to do the pots for a while now! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the words of encouragement billy and your support! :)
Thanks a lot for your videos, I love them! Please continue!
I’d like to see a “massive” etched pcb, because that would be hilarious!!
Really helpful tutorial, thanks.
Great video! Thanks for sharing mate.
Can't wait to do one of my own!

OMG you are a lifesaver!!! I have tried to find the right components and you showed me!!! I LOVE YOU!!! LOL..
Great vid, I'm going to give this a go!

You saved me a but load of time.

Hi, Is there any news on your full tutorials for single sided and double sided boards - start to end?

Thanks Gledison! Yeah its not really necessary for what we do. Saves on etchant though :D
What foot print I will use for dual op amp? Dip 8 or dip 8 400mils?
Can you tell me what to do where paths cross and there is no other option?
Should I use jumper wire?
Great tutorial though!
Either reroute or jumper wire unfortuatately. Or get a double sided fabbed board.
Sir is there any option of directly importing a JPEG image file of a Circuit and thereby making a shortest possible PCB Component layout
Are you using the freeware version?
I need LM741, LDR where can i find in the library.
Your welcome! :D
There is a free version of Diptrace on the download page (300 pin limit, like windows).
Any possibility of explaining how to add, (in-out)-for jacks ,(9v+- ground)- for power to the entire circuit? I cannot find any of them..
I would look for connectors. Maybe JST, or barrel jack. (?) I hope that helps someone.
what software should use in 2021
p.s:I still use diptrace
what do the numbers after the resistors mean?
is there anything like Diptrace for mac that is free?

+DIY Guitar Pedals thank you...big fan of urs great job...namesta from Nepal
Yep, 300 pins is a decent amount for most guitar pedals!
DIY Guitar Pedals is there a reason for filling the board in with copper vs just leaving the circuit tracks on there?
I am wondering the exact same thing. From the looks of it a copper pour is standard even when facing through OSH Park, but I have no idea why people do it.
@@joshledford8921 It saves on etchant
hi can you give me the link to download that program
diptrace.com/download/download-diptrace/
One Eagle user at a time, Ice...one eagle user at a time...
what program u using
It is Diptrace
11:23 says, "press enter when you're done" and smashes enter button like anything
cant post links. just google diptrace
EAGLE is a better program ,EAGLE is #1.
