Floss, your review is the only one that matters. The Ultra surprisingly doesn't look all that much bigger from the front compared to the 44mm Series 8 - really it's the depth...but the flat screen helps a LOT. I'm a sucker for a big watch face - not just for the 'flex' but I lived that G-Shock life back in the days. I actually kinda hope Apple doubles-down on the 'chonky' aesthetic.

This is a really interesting product from apple. It really seems like they made this for an audience and not for everyone. I honestly wonder how this will sale and how many people will keep it after the purchase.
I actually bought the gold 8 a few days ago and felt it was the same as my 7 so Apple did refund me after 4 days using it and bought the ultra. Best thing as the display is bigger for my older eyes and brighter. Love it so far

I got the Ultra instead of the 8, and I’m glad I did. My old one was the 5. I wanted to get something that I could see better, since I’m severely nearsighted, and at times I had trouble seeing my 5 even with my glasses on. This one I can see a lot better, thanks to the larger screen and also being OLED. I also like the titanium body and sapphire glass, because I can be a bit rough sometimes. I went ahead and got Apple Care for my watch instead of getting the protection plan from T-Mobile. I’m getting a Spiegen rugged case for it. I chose the Black grey Velcro band.

I had to cop a pair of Galaxy buds 2 pro because floss said their a major go and boy did he not disappoint. Floss is the only tech reviewer that I will watch before purchasing anything tech related.

Yep, the shutter control app on the Apple Watch is some spy craft shit. I love how you pump up the little features no one else cares about 👍
I hunted for a good pair of portable speakers a while back and I looked at a dozen different models and watched hundreds of videos until I narrowed it down to 3 speakers. I watched a bunch of reviews on each and went and bought one I thought was best. I watched Flossy's video on sound quality because I really wanted more bass. Crisp, booming bass. NO ONE was honest about the bass except Flossy. I ended up returning the first speaker and took Flossy's advice on a JBL speaker and it is perfect. So from then on, I listen to his advice. Everyone else just seems like they read the brochure and spew the marketing BS. But Flossy actually gives us real honest opinions on products.

I love how big and bulky the watch is. I’ve always felt the 44mm was too small. The thicker bands are great. Somehow they made it look slick and rugged at the same time. I had to get that Alpine Green band, I feel like everybody will have orange.
I would like a iOS overhaul though. It’s looked exactly the same for years.

I ordered it for myself for Christmas. About 10 years ago I left Samsung phone to iPhone. So I upgraded my Apple Watch series 7 to ultra. I love you videos.
Been away where cell service isn’t available but I’m state side and the ultra caught my eye, thanks for the thorough review, always enjoy the comedic approach you take.

I work a job that requires me to be in confined spaces and utilizing a harness at the majority of my work day, the durability of this watch is what sold me! I plan on using this more than my phone! Normally I'm a fan of curves, but I prefer the flat display of the Ultra as compared to the 8/7/6...
Pretty much most all of those functions can be done on a series 7 or series 8 watch. They’re not specific to the ultra. There are a few obviously. But for the most part 99% of that stuff can be done on the other watches. So I’m not really seeing the justification for $800 to me. The only big selling point is the size and weight. I like the idea of that.

Thanks for a fantastic real-world review! I'm about to go for my first ever Apple Watch. I agree that the Series 8 in stainless steel, either polished or in space black or gold, looks classier and more elegant than the Ultra.
However whilst the Series 8 in those stainless steel finishes look very nice, I still prefer the look of a traditional mechanical watch if we're talking classy elegance and style.
The specs of the Ultra as a 'tool' watch - namely the bigger, easier to read and use, brighter display, longer battery life, better speaker, and three beam-forming microphones for voice calls, are superior to the regular 8 series
This is technically the best version of an Apple Watch, call it Ultra or Pro, and unless the sheer size looks goofy on my wrist, it will be the one I would choose between it and a series 8 in stainless steel finish.
Good comment, I was feeling the same way. At the end of the day if classys the look I’ll probably just use a regular watch as well so ultra unless it’s huge will be my go to.
Save some of your money and opt for the series 7. The series 8 main only diff is there tracking of menstrual cycle... otherwise the same!
I had a Samsung Gear S and I loved the size. I have the 7, 45mm, picking up the Ultra tomorrow, can’t wait.

I’ve been watching Apple Watch Ultra videos all day. Once I saw the notification that Flossy carter uploaded I decided to wait until I got home shit shave and shower and get into bed before I saw the video. Flossy’s videos make me want to watch them in bed with no interruptions 😅.

I think just from the design POV series 8 is more versatile and can be used as a dress watch if needed while the Ultra is just too sporty.
