Love this video, thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Also, I would enjoy seeing videos where you visit properties that are for sale in your area. There was a YT channel called Mossy Bottom, where an Englishman moved to the country in Ireland, and he had very little money, but over the years he built a really nice homestead there! And every so often, he would make a video about land for sale in that area ... and people loved those videos, and some properties did sell bc of him. (Kind of like your "Help the Amish sell these Sheds" campaign) Anyway, he moved to Finland with a new wife, baby, and now they are homesteading there.
I am still very scared to start this process without the money to put down on a structure but I won’t let that deter me from looking ❤❤ Thank you for sharing as always I am very thankful to have this knowledge.

Hey Alexandra! I love your content! We just started the process of attaining land and becoming first time “hobby farmers”. Your barn is beautiful! I love the heated floor idea. We’re in FL so maybe not completely necessary but a great option nevertheless. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next for you!
You left out property tax & insurance. Once you start hosting events or workshops there, your insurance will become much more significant. If you are bundling insurance, I recommend looking into an Umbrella policy, which for me is very little, but adds a million dollars of piece of mind on top of every other policy I have should they run out. The county is going to start hitting you with unexpected assessments soon. But it seems like you are doing very well so far. Enjoying the videos!
I want to look into how working with the USDA could work for me. I'm not sure you'll read this so I'll try to search your library. I think you're remarkable. You executed beautifully and are working 6 acres in a great location. Good for U!
Hearing you breakdown the monthly cost may make the dream for many feel it’s a little more attainable which is good. Not sure if I missed it in the video but would you be willing to share a roundabout price for your structure. If too personal I understand. Just always wondered what Amish prices are like and if affordable. Thank you for the video😊
Very impressed with all you are accomplishing. Do you intend to build a house for yourself on the farm? Are you currently living very close by? Love your "bye" at the end of all your videos.
Hey, something might help, I used to keep honeybees on this lady’s organic farm, where it was idle property “she rented”, where one spot was 60 acres. Just in case you see the cause to have more land to farm but can’t foresee long term commitment. Sometimes paying taxes is all that’s asked! I think she’s retired now, but renting extra land is always an option!
I agree. Beekeeping would be great, especially with all the wild flowers. You would just need to have plants that bloom in rotation from April-September. Honey/wax is a great market. You certainly have the space to process it.
@ For me that’s days gone by, not even possible. Where I simply mentioned what I did have going many years ago as a reference point! But if you’re interested, it’s much more complicated today, where there’s the pest of yesterday and new pests that constantly add to the expenses as well as drama of beekeeping. Like beetles and ccd. But if you desire to give it a go, good luck!
@@joebeach7759 No big deal. Beekeeping I had a lot of money in and it was therapeutic. Which anyone is interested it’d be good to take up beekeeping.
