Throughout these videos I keep hearing the theme "I don't know what I'm doing ...." but for someone making that claim you sure have accomplished TONS in a very short time. So super kudos to you, and I invite you to self-congratulate on all the amazing accomplishments you've had this year!
You are an angle .. smart, hardworking, and have a heart for humanity. People like you inspired me and pushing me to speed up my plan. Just got a decent size property by the sea and planned to build a small farm / forest garden homestead.
That's amazing, I've seen different people talking about this Geraldine Ann, she must be a cool woman for people to talk this about her,how do you people earn money?
As a beginner, it's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Myself, I'm guided by Geraldine Ann Philip’s . for years and highly recommend her I focus on her .
I think I'm blessed, because What impresses me most about Geraldine Ann Philips is how well she explains basic concept of winning before actually letting you use her trade. This goes a long way to ensure winning trades
We had 6-7 milkweed plants growing along the road this summer. This fall I took my daughter out and we collected the seeds and have since spread them all across our 2 acres.
You are a rare gem, and I don't think you even know it. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You are a blessing and breath of fresh air, and I hope you continue this channel for a long time to come. Thank you for all that you do. God bless you and your farm.
You are such a breath of fresh air! Beautiful and talented. Good luck on establishing your farm enterprise, working on mine myself. The future is looking bright for farming reform and hopefully the our generations can bring farming back to a sustainable family supporting income once again.
@@dertythegrower Oh thank you for the information. I didn't know about this! I'm in zone 3-4, always trying to figure out a warmer way in our 9 months of frigid cold.
Actually very professional and beautifully done. In my experience there's no better communities than the Amish. They live by the old ways. Honor, integrity, honesty etc. Things the modern world abandoned and now we see the consequences. Like the law of the harvest. We "reap what we sow." Thanks for your hard work and inspiration. My only recommendation is to invest in a freeze dryer and bank food. It will store for 20+ years and is very easy to sell right now. 🙏 ❤ 👨🌾👩🌾 PS. Please be careful on the ice. ❄ ⛇
Also canned goods, with glass jars with the Ball-Mason lids (as long as the lid is popped down, you know the seal is good). Tomatoes, peaches, cucumber/pickles, applesauce, jams, saierkraut, etc. I (personally) would pay nicely for those and store them against food emergency, grid failure, etc.
1 thing I saw a guy do with his sunflowers, since he had so many he donated a lot to nursing homes and random local places so he could write off a little $$$ to offset his profits. If there are any chicken farms around you, you can donate to them since they will eat the seeds. Just looking out for you to help you get ahead
@@AlexandraFasuloBiz Haha, I'm a farming interior designer, too. Girl after my own heart. I have green with dark roof like my house. I believe it does improve your property value to have everything neat and cohesive.

Sadly, I don't think we can get the Amish out here on the California coast T.T
Yours is such a great story to follow. Thank you Alexandra for releasing so much inspirational and informative content. Feeling a little stuck here in Syracuse, I am taking steps to go along a similar path out to a country setting Upstate. Chickens and Quail shall be bred, and some funky musical instruments made. The general message of your videos, that our dreams are more attainable than we might believe, really resonates. 💡
I hope only good customers come your way! We just moved to a country house and our plans were to set up a farm stand next spring. But last week a thief broke into our garage and we were robbed. Never thought that would happen to us, I am beyond words. Now I'm rethinking the farm stand. We are installing a gate and cameras instead. I don't know if I will ever feel safe having people we don't know come on to our property again. 😢
It’s awesome to see your entrepreneurial spirit. You have that big heated barn. I’ve grown micro-greens, like you are and I also grow hydroponic greens. You could easily supplement your farm sales with fresh greens grown hydroponically in your barn. It doesn’t take up much space and you could be growing 20-40 heads of lettuce (a week), arugula, parsley, cilanto (you get the point). Just mentioning another option for increasing sales. People would rather buy from you than the store! Just a thought.
I think I would have made a few changes to the farm stand: 1) Instead of having an open window, I would move everything inside, so that it can be a more controlled environment. 2) I would have designed it to have some solar gain in winter, and maybe natural convection AC in summer so that it is a slightly more pleasant temperature (and thus more usable) year around. 3) Consider adding a large display window facing the road to show off a sampling of products, or possibly have like a large blackboard in the window so you can just list off in text what products you have. 4) This is for if people are less trustworthy, add some sort of access control to the building. Two possibilities come to mind: first would be a driver's license scanner. Just swipe your license and it lets you into the building. The second would be individual accounts, where each person is given 2 pins (basically like an account name and password), and when you punch in the correct pins, the door unlocks to let you in. The down side to method two is it would require each person to register before being allowed in. You could then add a security camera, and if anyone steals from you, you have video of it, plus their identifying information. Though you could probably just put a couple cameras in there, and a warning, and that would cut back on most thieves. * Edit: Or a finger print scanner. The point is to require some sort of identifying information to let people in. * I am not saying Alexandra should make these changes now, just noting ideas for people in the future.
Also once you get up your grow tunnels up you can grow things Like lettuce and herbs all year round. Im fact Im in illinois and still have grow bags outside still growing sage and mint somehow and we have had snow off and on for weeks.
Do you live on the farm yet? I haven't gone through all the videos so I don't know if you built a living quarters on your barn. That is a beautiful barn. I'm sure there's a price difference between your craftsmen and other non-Amish builders, but how significant is it? I guess when you build something you want to last for 100 years, it's worth the added expenses, but how much more are you looking at?
I’m curious if there’s a difference between industrious & entrepreneurial, in your mind? I’m also curious about the drive by traffic in terms of who is interested in what you offer vs what they can craft or produce themselves.
