I just commented basically the same thing to them yesterday on another of their videos! I live in the middle of a suburb of Oklahoma City (Moore) and the only gardening I do is flowers and herbs and peppers in pots in my backyard! But I have learned so much from them, I almost feel like I could homestead too. 😁

If I go homesteading, I will look for land with no buildings and build to my liking. I have seen people looking at land and it seems most of the buildings need a lot of repairs.

My mom shared your channel with me and I’m so grateful she did! My family and I moved to central MO last summer and we’re trying little-by-little to get a homestead up and running. This spring will be our first time in our married life that we’ve been able to build a permanent structure for gardening, or actually put a garden in the ground. All of our former attempts have been containers in the back yard approved by the HOA or housing office. We had the AC die last summer to the tune of $1300 repair. We’re working to declutter and purge and make our house into the home of our dreams. My honey is also trying to make sure that as we transition into the homestead lifestyle that we allow room for expansion into various businesses like agrotourism and local organic exotics. What a breath of fresh air! There are so many skeptics out there that believe the only way is a 9 to 5 job and being stuck in traffic for over an hour. So happy for you and your family.
My intro to gardening started with two busted doggie pools. I grew tomatoes, green peppers, and Watermelons. That was 5-6 years ago with lots of disappointment here and there. Every year my garden has doubled in size. Now I grow 30-40 lbs Watermelons! Determination and sacrifices is well worth the work. Congratulations on your success!

As aMaster gardener, I have planted 100+ trees , 300 yd > Wildlife Habitat, plus small veg. , fruit gardens. Now you have done it ,My dream... We where stuck in the rat race and looking forward to retiring! We sold our home and moved away from our family to an urban setting in a farming community ! Now we have no mortgage and a garden area we can grow our own food and farms to buy what we can’t grow! We dehydrate, can and freeze for the winter! Love your nature walks and learning about different plants you can eat! I make my own dehydrate greens from dandelions, violets, rose pedals etc! Great for smoothies! You guys work very hard and deserve your reward! Love all your videos! Love the cooking recipes and gardening and building and watching the animals! So keep up the great work! Thanks again!
Love the trees blooming in background. Gotta love Spring. I cannot even imagine not living out in nature in the country with animals and wildlife. I am a cattle rancher and have bred goats before. I have had ducks and chickens. My older son died I almost gave up.The grief was overwhelming and I could not care for them all them. I still breed pure bred Santa Gertrudis cattle. Now I have my younger son missing everyday is a struggle but with God, nature around me, good friends get me through. Bless you for sharing.

I have lived here in the Missouri Ozarks for 16 years now. I m originally from Central California, born, raised and live there 43 years. Our first year in Missouri was very hard, we moved here in November and it just happened to be a cold, icy winter. I felt like someone had picked me up and dumped me in iceland. Summer came the humity and bugs were even worse. It took some time to adjust. Now I would never live anywhere else. I watch as you lay down your roots and grow, we learn from are failures as well as from success. My first year really trying to garden I had a war, it was between myself and grasshoppers. Needless to say they won that year. It was so much work and no reward. I almost gave up but instead spent my winter researching and have had much success since then!
Horace and I enjoyed this video so much! We have begun TH-cam videos for Horace's Meditations, Nature Lessons and History Lessons. We believe we have something worthwhile to offer others. Last June we moved into our property and firstly had no hot water. Then the new cooker came with out the appropriate pieces to make it safe to use. Then the toilet went wrong throwing water everywhere, oh and we had two blockages on the septic tank that filled our path with sewerage. That was obviously a short piece but with in the first two months. We are still here and loving life xxx

Every year my garden has doubled in size. Now I grow 30-40 lbs Watermelons! Determination and sacrifices is well worth the work. Congratulations on your success!

Homesteading in the Territory of Alaska, we were considering , 1950s, But life took us back to the my late Husband’s city job. As aMaster gardener, I have planted 100+ trees , 300 yd > Wildlife Habitat, plus small veg. , fruit gardens. Now you have done it ,My dream... We where stuck in the rat race and looking forward to retiring! We sold our home and moved away from our family to an urban setting in a farming community ! Now we have no mortgage and a garden area we can grow our own food and farms to buy what we can’t grow! We dehydrate, can and freeze for the winter! Love your nature walks and learning about different plants you can eat! I make my own dehydrate greens from dandelions, violets, rose pedals etc! Great for smoothies!

Love the trees blooming in background. Gotta love Spring. I cannot even imagine not living out in nature in the country with animals and wildlife. I am a cattle rancher and have bred goats before. I have had ducks and chickens. My older son died I almost gave up.The grief was overwhelming and I could not care for them all them. I still breed pure bred Santa Gertrudis cattle. Now I have my younger son missing everyday is a struggle but with God, nature around me, good friends get me through. Bless you for sharing.

I know for a fact.....that homesteading is not for me. But....I love watching your videos and watching how determined and how optimistic you always are. My parents grew up in Iowa, my dad on a farm. I visited there many times as a child and loved it. Your videos are informative, funny, instructive, and most of all.....real. Good job and keep it going.

I have lived here in the Missouri Ozarks for 16 years now. I m originally from Central California, born, raised and live there 43 years.
Our first year in Missouri was very hard, we moved here in November and it just happened to be a cold, icy winter. I felt like someone had picked me up and dumped me in iceland. Summer came the humity and bugs were even worse. It took some time to adjust.
Now I would never live anywhere else. I watch as you lay down your roots and grow, we learn from are failures as well as from success. I see happiness an peace in your

My first year really trying to garden I had a war, it was between myself and grasshoppers. Needless to say they won that year. It was so much work and no reward. I almost gave up but instead spent my winter researching and have had much success since then!
Horace and I enjoyed this video so much! We have begun TH-cam videos for Horace's Meditations, Nature Lessons and History Lessons. We believe we have something worthwhile to offer others. Yes, it is hard to be patient, but his viewers are growing. We love what you are doing for homesteading life style . If we were younger, we would be right with you! Never give up! Last June we moved into our property and firstly had no hot water. Then the new cooker came with out the appropriate pieces to make it safe to use. Then the toilet went wrong throwing water everywhere, oh and we had two blockages on the septic tank that filled our path with sewerage. That was obviously a short piece but with in the first two months. We are still here and loving life xxx
