Just got done re watching the first 3 seasons.. literally finished yesterday.. they did an excellent job the first 3 seasons.. season 3 is better than a few twd seasons to me 🤷🏾♂️

Was just gonna comment this, this season gave me hope for a turn around and some how it went back to shit, even with the returns of madison and alicia, which says a lot about the writing.

I actually liked ftwd overall s1,2,3 were soo good especially s3, the first half of s4 was good too. I really liked s6, also because i like morgan a lot and i hate madison, im on s7 episode 13 right now and till now i liked it. Except for end s4 and s5 this show isnt that bad, it doesnt come close to twd but its still enjoyable for me, i also like that emotional impact the show or some scenes had for me, maybe its just because im like the biggest TWDU fan😅
Also at 10:54 is the ending of the OG series With Rick defeating Negan. After that the show became a reboot. The first 8 seasons and 3 seasons of Fear was the OG Walking Dead Universe. To me anyway
The walking dead is one of the most overhated shows for no reason. People always have this weird "season 7 and 8 is trash so everything about it is trash" take that is just years old and bland.
Were season 7 and 8 the best? No. season 7 was a bit slow, and the whole all out war arc in 8 was dragged out, but it wasnt as bad as people say it is, ESPECIALLY binged.
Though viewership plummeted after 7 and 8, season 9 turned out as one of the best seasons and gave a breath of fresh air. Season 10 was pretty good as well with the whole whisperer arc. Season 11 was questionable. The reapers were kind of stale, but the commonwealth arc was enjoyable.
I think the walking dead is one of the best shows period. Even with rick, THE MAIN CHARACTER gone, the show still managed to be interesting.
The shows ultimate mistake of killing carl did understandbly ruin it as well for most, but i still think the show did the best they could, and delievered in my opinion for those who stuck with it through and through.
The walking dead has had ups and downs, and isnt perfect. But i dont think it deserves the tainted reputation it has, and deserves better recognition.
I think it's just the nature of long running shows to have their "bad" and good" seasons. It's like almost inevitable because having a show run for so long, you can't really avoid having to overstretch storylines, shift in writing quality etc. For a long running show, I do agree it did it is one of the best to be able to keep it interesting enough and avoid the "monster of the week" that usually long running shows stumble upon. I mean what other show with 10+ seasons has been able to consistently, each and every season, have a great season?

I am beyond done w/ the Maggie/Negan drama. They ended the main show ended w/ them coming to an understanding & then Dead City started & it was back to how it all was before Maggie left in S9.
So sad the ones with new characters weren’t good. I was really hoping to watch another good show in the same world :(
Another alternative and definitely harder version of this list I'd like to see you do is the top 10 episodes in TWD universe after TWOL, I can think of my first 3 or so and then it gets really hard

I never saw Tales or World Beyond, but as far as the rest go:
S Tier: The Walking Dead. Iconic show, the ultimate in "appointment television" Like you, it is not what I consider to be the "best show"(that would be a tie between Sopranos and Breaking Bad) but it may be my "sentimental favorite" as well.
A Tier: Daryl Dixon, TWOL, Dead City and Fear seasons 1-3
Liquid Ass: Fear seasons 4-8.

When it comes to World Beyond season one was ass. Two was alot better. Huck was the highlight and should have lived.
Huck was my least favorite character of almost all of TWD universe 😂
What really sucks about World Beyond after TOWL besides Jadis back story nothing that happened even played a part in TOWL. The kids didn't show up (good thing), the rebellion from the finale never came up, No Lt. Kublick, Beales son, the experiments, and searching for the cure. Why did they even make 20 episodes of this show when 99% of it ended up being completely irrelevant??
The Richonne telenovela was a more important story to tell.

I actually think the Blair and Gina episode was kinda interesting. the time loop made intrigued and wondering how it would be solved. but the final part of the episode of the highway was so too much random/non-sense/sucked

Man I don’t agree with you on many things. But I agree with you 100% on tales the walking dead. Man those were a F. There was a one I turned off I couldn’t even watch it.
I only watched TWD last summer. I was streaming the telltale games and had so many people tell me I needed to watch it! I didnt think I'd like it. I steer away from overly hyped tv shows, for example, I tried and hated both game of thrones and breaking bad. I literally had nothing to do one day and thought I'd give it a go. I then literally binged the whole thing in 3 weeks. I would go to the toilet, cook, clean and sleep watching TWD. I pretty much became a self inflicted insomniac. I feel sorry for my kids because for 3 weeks straight all they heard was "arrrarrarararrarrrrgggghhhhhh" *zombie noises* and "CORALLLLLL" 😂 coming from my phone but I loved it and I'm literally obsessed! I havent watched world beyond or fear out of fear that it will kill my love for the universe as a whole.
World Beyond is cute if you view it as the coming of age kids version, and Fear's first 3 seasons are incredible, just make sure you stop after 3 because 4 through 8 are terrible. If you haven't watched the new spinoffs you definitely should (Dead City, Daryl, Ones Who Live). They are good.
@mr.goodboi2780 thank you for the advice. I was tempted to watch fear because morgan is one of my favourite characters. The reviews are what put me off 😂... I dont really do teen dramas either so wasn't interested in watching world beyond! ... yeah I've watched the others, I enjoyed them all and dare I say Daryl Dixon is my favourite spin off so far. I even enjoyed a few tale episodes 😂. I found dead city a bit meh, episode 2 and the last episode were good though 🙂

fear twd peaked when the focus was the Clark family, season 1-3 and 6 were S tier, first half of season 4 and 5 were like A or B tier, season 8 was bad but it did have some good moments when they were focusing on Madison and Alicia and season 7 was liquid ass except when they focused on Alicia

My tier list:
S Tier: Fear the Walking Dead. It's hard to come up with flaws honestly. Such consistent writing, logical character work, nuanced long term storytelling with satisfying payoffs... I stay awake at night just pondering and wondering about how it was even possible for this team of writers to come up with something so complex yet so simple, so grand, yet so personal - the point to point writing where you could track all character progression from Z to A in a coherent manner, understand the character motivations so well. And don't even get me started on the dialogue: an absolute masterwork of relatable, believable, and just, point blank, NATURAL dialogue that made you feel like you were right there with the characters. Television will never recover from Fear the Walking Dead.
A-C Tier: Everything else. Nothing really compares to Fear.

I would only swap Tales and World Beyond on my tier list. Tales was a total irrelevant let down to me. WB at least tied in to the greater universe and similar to Fear, although it was ass most of the way, it ironically kept you intrigued to see what we would eventually learn about the CRM
If I had to only focus on the Erickson ,Clark family drama era of the show. I would not be ashamed to give it a solid B tier However the Morgan and co era of the show I would probably give the same that you gave for the entire series which I would also give the same rating for, yes overall it was trash but it was better trash then tales and world beyond, even if we were to focus solely on the soft reboot era of the show , although Ericksons era really was the best of this show , getting to see the fall of LOS Angeles and seeing the horror elements of the show really was just fantastic and of course nick and Troy really did just carry this show.
Agree on everything except TWD world beyond and Tales. Tales had an interesting concept but those last 2 episodes killed it for me, along with wasting Anthony Edwards.
World Beyond though gave us incredible context into CRM that we needed especially given that the showrunners probably knew we wouldn’t get much more from The Ones who live. The CRM mother /daughter duo was interesting and Jadis definitely made it interesting. I’d even argue that burning tire episode in season 1 was excellent. But the teenage drama portion was terrible
I find it hilarious how you forgot about Ftwd: Dead in the Water spinoff show because the marketing was so bad it was so irrelevant. I haven't watched it, but I was told it was good.
4:10 I believe it was called “Isle of the Dead.” I actually prefer that title. The Walking Dead: Dead City sounds weird because of having to say “Dead” twice. It’s like Dragonball Super: Super Hero. It’s redundant. Thousands of words in existence, and they had to put the same one twice 😂

We should properly consider Fear S1-S3 its own spin-off and Momo and Friends S4-S8 its own spin off. With that said here is my list.
S tier - Walking Dead
A tier - Fear S1-S3, Dead City.
B tier - Daryl Dixon
The tier between Daryl and Dead City always change for me, let's see how S2 of these spin-offs makes me feel about them and rank them.
Daryl Dixon - Really like the new perspective of the apocalypse with the change in setting in France. With TOWL out, it would have been great to have set up a CRM vs France military superpowers against each other. Despite being apocalypse given the chance to start anew and learn from out mistakes, we just fall back again. history just repeats itself. Isabelle, agree. Best new ally character introduced since probably Aaron. Soundtrack really great.
Dead City - I have always liked the dynamic between Negan and Maggie and this forced alliance they have to make and just the underlying themes of forgiveness and revenge. Add it with Hershel Jr. siding with his father's killer, it just gives an interesting psychological exploration of Maggie. Same, soundtrack pretty spot on too.
C tier - The Ones Who Live, they really blew it off with Ep.4 and on. Turd Reunion, sans the Rick and Judith hug.
Liquid Ass - World Beyond, Tales, Momo and Friends S4-S8.

Episode 4 was one of my favorite TWD episodes of all time. One of Andrew Lincoln’s best acting performances
@@sontricaallen8806 That's why I mentioned that both of these shows currently flunctuate between A and B. But I admit I do have a bias for Negan/Maggie as protagonists. I feel they are better leading characters, even standalone, than Daryl. For me, Daryl I really need him to be with someone and Isabelle was a good foil/partner, but she is mostly a new character still and even then I would argue I was more invested in her story than Daryl's journey. Like Daryl is a silent protagonist, like Link from The Legend of Zelda.

I really agree with your take on The Ones Who Live. I did not like where it went after episode 3. It's a C show.
7) Fear the Walking Dead (Seasons 1-3 (S), Seasons 4-8 (F), Fear is like prime example of bad TV. Just terrible.)
6) Tales of the Walking Dead (C, episodes 1, 2 and 6 were fun to me.)
5) The Ones Who Live (B-/C+, was alright in the end. Did not like the ending at all, kind of soured the first 4 episodes)
4) World Beyond (B, this show was not as bad as most people said it was)
3) Dead City (B+, Negan chewing it up in his own show was awesome, not scripted perfect but still entertaining)
2) Daryl Dixon (This show was mostly amazing, episodes 5/6 had SOME wonky moments, A-)
1) Walking Dead (A overall, peak TV, especially seasons 1-6, 9. Even 7-8, 10-11 are fun to watch.)
TBH I had to take a few days not thinking about this, the end of The Ones Who Live really pissed me off. It may be lower than other people's ranking but I still don't agree with how they did that. I preferred the other two new spinoffs.
Honestly even with the slow seasons of TWD, it is still in the S tier for me too. And it also helps that this show was my escape and I basically grew up on it lol, been watching it since 2014. Now, why was a 13 year old watching twd? good question. Was I absolutely mad at how they left the cell doors open in seasons 3 and 4 when anyone could spontaneously die? Yes. Did I plan out my survival plan within twd? also yes.
And that's prolly why twd ones who live didn't live up to my expectations in the end. We were used to really fleshed out (sometimes painfully so) bad guys and seeing them take down something that they've been teasing for well over a decade within a 50 minute episode is just disappointing. TWD ones who live kind of pacing worked in The last of us because it was telling a neat standalone package. The pacing felt fast there too but we didn't have any prior expectations. But it just can't work for something like TWD or game of thrones lol (and yes I am still mad at season 8 five years after the show). It just can't.
Anyways, I have a craving to rewatch the entire TWD universe now but I cannot for the life of me spend the next 5 months going thru 25 seasons worth of tv time.

Out of all those shows, Tales had the most potential, í'm actually glad it's universally disliked so we won't see anything like that anymore.

The last episodes of The Ones Who Live are terrible. Absolutely botched the reunion of Rick and his family. It was so so so rushed. For a character like Rick to get such a brushed off small moment with his children only was a kick to the head. He IS the walking dead. His coming back is the climax of all of the stories of all shows combined. It was offensive how they rushed it. It deserved so much more

The one who live is the worst it ruined The Walking Dead for me it made Rick look like a weakling and didn’t make sense and was extremely unrealistic asf but most of all rushed
Daryl Dixon has so many issues, Laurent is one of the most unbearable characters ever in the show. What an annoying, snobbish, cringey know it all child, with his weird showing off of his English like he wants people to compliment him all the time. And him being a messiah? What the actual hell. And the religious hamfisting was just as bad. The constant portrayal of the poor innocent religious people who will win through belief against the evil bad unbelievers... It was actually ridiculous. Other than that, Isabelle is of course a great actress so she made up some. But some of Daryl's decisions made absolutely no sense. Like he just goes on the boat without any resistance. Welp I just got kicked out of this small group of scavengers, instead of taking my bike and riding off I guess I'll just let me be taken hostage without resistance and be shipped off on a container ship across the ocean. Because that's totally fine. What.
