    14:30 min mark...This happened to me and my mum ! I lost my brother [Scott] in 2008 and like Stephen I too can not bring myself to delete his contact details. Whilst waiting at the hospital once with my mum I stumbled across late brother's details so I cheekily said to mum "Let's ring Scotty !" and so we did.
    ( Bear in mind this took place about 6-7 years after brother's passing ).
    Ring, ring...ring, ring..."hello" ! OH ! wasn't expecting it to be answered so was already thrown. "Ummm, is Scott there please ?" I asked in all silliness with my mum laughing beside me. Well fuck me what happened next had all 3 of us, mum, me & the mystery caller, wetting our pants with laughter !!
    After asking for Scott, the response I got from the other end was ; "Speaking"...!! 👀 !!! 😂
    Short story long, just a helluva coincidence in the end. We ALL had a good chuckle after we explained what we were doing and my 'new' brother Scott even invited us to stay if we were ever in town ❤

    Oddly enough, when they were talking of deleting (or not being able to delete a person on their contact list), I actually forgot that they reuse those phone numbers. My Mum passed away and I couldn't delete her contact number. One day when I was really sad and missing her, I sent that number a text to that effect. I got a reply from a very kind person letting me know that I have the wrong number. So, I explained and they were so kind and told me that anytime I feel sad and miss Mum, I can send them a text and they'll be happy to talk to me. 😊

    • @TheUberjammer

      That's not the reason. Mixer taps also have two taps one nfor hot one for drinking water at least in the kitchen. But the middle tap part is shared so that you can have either hot or cold or both together to make warm or like warm or quite hot but not scalding hot. And most people have mixer taps these days right? Even irish people got those in the 1980s.

    The reason the UK has two taps (not everywhere but in most older buildings) is because hot water was traditionally stored in a tank in the attic where it was at risk of gathering dirt (from insects, rats, mice, etc.) and was therefore suitable for washing but not for drinking and therefore couldn’t be mixed with the cold water. You’re not supposed to use the taps whilst running if you want pleasant warm water, you’re supposed to pour a bowl of it.

      No, if I could create a reality I'd create one where I was obscenely rich, 6ft tall, effortlessly slim and a natural blonde. None of those have been created in my reality as yet.

    In the “How would you land a plane?” section Stephen claims that’s there has never been an example in commercial aviation where a passenger has had to land a plane;
    United Flight 93 had to be brought down by passengers after the flight crew were murdered by the hijackers on 9/11. Unfortunately we all know how that ended.

    The UK two-tap dilemma: that is why the sink and plug exist. Put the plug in, fill up the sink with both cold and hot water, and it allows you to regulate the water temperature!

    • @lilymarinovic1644
      @lilymarinovic1644 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah but most sinks aren't terribly clean. I'd almost rather risk boiling or freezing

      That's also much slower and much more involved than simply mixing the temperatures within the single tap using two separate levers.

    The Holy Family re-located to Britain around 37 AD and founded the first Christian church in the world, decades before Christianity reached Rome. Joseph of Arimathea, known in Britain as Saint Ilid, came from Aramea (Syria) and is buried in Bute Park, Cardiff.

    "Do you not want some points, or not?" isn't a double negative, it's a redundancy. "Do you not want some points?" is a rhetorical question implying that they do indeed want some points. "Do you want some points, or not?" would be an actual question with a choice of answers.

    1:29:30 There are cases in which defendants have attempted to get out of criminal charges by claiming that their actions were the result of epileptic seizures. In People v. Grant, 360 N.E.2d 809 (Ill. App. 1977), the court held that the act of striiking a police officer was involuntary, but the defendant could be held responsible if it was found on remand that his drinking prior to the incident was reckless and caused the seizure.

    On the subject of phone calls from the dead around 14:58. I made a terrible mistake in my depressed state after my late wife passed, I was very very very low and could not face the outside world, I had lost the love of my life, my soulmate, and had turned to drink. I just withdrew and my pay and go phone had run out of credit. I was not very tech savvy back then, and desperately needed to speak to my son, and without thinking used her phone!! The poor man nearly had a heart attack as his phone rung showing Mum calling! I was so so sorry I could not apologise enough and fell into an even deeper depression. Life really is a bitch sometimes, then you do stupid things and make it worse.
