As much as I wanted Yandhi, JIK still had pretty good potential imo to be a solid gospel album, problem is most of it just sounds like demos from yandhi that he forced into watered down gospel songs that barely last two minutes because he knew he had to drop something. Had we gotten more stuff sounding like God Is and Jesus Is Lord I think i would’ve enjoyed that project way more. still would’ve preferred yandhi but yeah.

Donda had so much potential, but many of the songs lack much instrumental and feel kinda empty (as unfinished songs often are). Ik that his label dropped it before he could finish, but idk I feel that the album was so cluttered, disorganized, and did not understand what it really wanted to be.
@@Zackadelesto each his own i guess, i found donda to be a solid 8/10 even with all of its unnecessary songs left on it. some of its potential was def squandered by the amount of bloat but at the very least it did a way better job at combining gospel with hip hop than whatever the hell JIK was trying to do

It ain't weird and it ain't only nostalgia 'cause I'm 16 years old and I like it and listen to it regularly. And apart from Big Weenie My 1st Single and Rain Man everything else is good or perfect.
Second album I've ever bought, loved it when I first got it. But it's definitely a bad album, if they didn't try and cover up for the leaks we would've had a few more good songs, but not enough to make Encore a good album.
There were some good songs like Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh

Encore has like 2 good songs out of the 18 or whatever the fuck song tracklist+ the extra CD. Animal Ambition wasn't great, but it wasn't objectively horrible like Encore still is.

@@cak17 Well, at the time it was looked at career ending. He may have came back but he came back as a completely different artist and not exactly in a good way.
Fifs career was already basically dead by Curtis. It wasn't a career ending album in the sense it was so bad he couldn't come back, it had been 10 years and his music still sounded the same minus the Dre beats, he just overstayed his welcome in the music scene and he realized that instead of dragging out his career just because he knows it'll still sell records and do tours.
Kingdom come isn’t awful, it’s just not great. Because of that idk I don’t think it should be on here. Luckily though, American Gangster came right after.
Honestly CLB deserves at least an honorable mention on this too

Honestly the worst drake album
Leaks definitely ruined Encore and Nastradamus. Encore was leaked just a couple of weeks before its release, and that forced them to redo many songs. Nastradamus was originally supposed to be I Am Nastradamus, which was supposed to be a double album of I Am and Nastradamus, but then leaks made Nastradamus make new songs. Leaks did affect Encore more as they had less time to redo than Nas, but just looking at what they could’ve been is insane; just look at the leaks from them around the time they were supposed to drop those albums. In the end, we got what we got, and they were both okay albums. I don't consider them bad, as to me, they both have some highs and lows.
Back when they didn't realize leaks can actually be insanely helpful, and they should've just kept the same tracklist.

Encore is way over hated. Some of his best songs were on there. If he just trimmed the fat and took out 6-7 songs, it’d be one of his most solid albums.
Drake is a mediocre artist quality wise, the only reason y’all put him on a pedestal is because most the current artists co-sign him, which they only do because a feature with Drake will net them a lot of money. Record sales are not indicative of actual quality, I do think he was a good, not great artist in his initial run, now he’s just a strange holdover that the industry seems to want to prop up forever even though he hasn’t made a good album in almost a decade

Don't get me wrong, Drake post views is horrible and imo has lost a lot of the respect he garnered before then, but I think if he never released another album after If you're reading this, he'd be at least a top 100 rapper with just that initial run.

9:25 Wayne is my favorite rapper of all time. When he dropped rebirth I felt personally attacked. On Fire isn’t terrible. And Drop the world is actually a good song. But as a whole it’s definitely a L of a record.

Kingdom Come, Encore and Nastradamus aren’t that bad and are overhated. Their all disappointing rap albums but there’s still some underrated gems on those 3 projects. There’s by far worser albums then these three. I feel Nasir and Magna Carta Holy Grail should replace Kingdom Come and Nastradamus and 50’s Animal Ambition should replace Encore.

Americans irrationally hate ‘Honesty Nevermind’, I still love ‘Massive’, it’s a summer bop, and Very interestingly massive made it to the set list of his tour bc he knows it’s popular. I wanted ‘Massive’ as a proper single, even though he never fully released/promoted it as a single it still pulled 100M streams on Spotify alone with little promo. I heard it a lot outside all summer long in my country. Justice for Massive, it’s the best house song on there 😭

HipHop fans over hate on honestly nevermind, it genuinely comes across as ignorance to me, there are some stunning instrumental moments on that record. I do think Drakes performance was mid and half assed, but I think that so many rap fans can't even appreciate the beauty of some of the sounds from that project and that upsets me considering how closely tied house and hiphop are when you look back at the history.

@YeezyLeaks I don't like the album, it's mid, I like some of the instrumentals and I like house music. Also, I love Kanye's art. He's one of my favourite musicians of all time and has made multiple timeless classics that I love and enjoy with all my heart.

I hated 'Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven' but I'm glad I listened to that first because he did an alternative rock album in 2012 called 'WZRD' and that one is sooooo underrated. I like every song on it and I'm not even a rock fan. But please check it out as it is amazing, just listen to 'Upper Room' for example, it's such a good track.
You have to give it to Wayne he went out of his comfort zone and went gold it was unexpected which makes it that more interested he took a risk and that is what matters regardless.
The only disagreement I've got is Encore. Stuff like "rain man" and "big weenie" are works of sick genius

I am a die-hard Chance the Rapper fan. I'll be honest that The Big Day was not his best AT ALL, I did not like Hot Shower at all, felt like he was making it for the fans who may have been on the outside looking in but it came off desperate. But he has some moments on the album that show he was capable of doing classic chance work like "Do You Remember, or 5 Year Plan". I know his next album/project will be a huge step up by the few singles he's released The Heart and the Tongue, Highs & the Lows. Whatever Chance has next he will bounce back HUGE.
He received great reviews. It should've been another artist on the #1 spot

Also, I say Yeezus was worse than Jesus is King. At least the latter was a little more consistent even if it wasn't good. Yeezus with the exception of Blood On The Leaves, Hold My Liquor and New Slaves was a torturous mess and that was mostly hard to go through especially with the lyrics, production and ego/arrogance Kanye would go far to reveal which is just plain terrible. Revival and Relapse was way worse than Encore. The middle of Encore was weak. CLB is toed with Honestly Nevermind. Nas Untitled was probably his worst album. Kingdom Come and Vol. 3 are bad. Lupe last few albums weren't as good as Lasors. Lil Wayne's Not A Human Being 2 was bad.

Not only because it followed possibly Hip-Hop’s greatest 3 album run, but also because the lowest points are some of Em’s worst songs ever, but the highs are some of his best and most beloved songs, so it just makes it feel inconsistent as hell
