Kendrick’s album was really polarizing and it was fascinating to watch happen live. People thought either thought it was his best or worst album with no in between. I hadn’t seen anything like it since Whole Lotta Red. It split the timeline, you could tell those who hadn’t been through healing and who has. I’ve been on a healing journey myself since 2020, so I was on the side of that it was one of the greatest. Not the greatest, but a close 2 or 3.
I mean I haven't had a healing phase yet but I always appreciated the lyrical opennes of it. Took me 5 listens to not hate it but even when I hated it I respected the lyrical content, it was the sund department that was lacking really. I still find that it's sonically lacking but I don't exactly hate it now. Father Time is my favourite and if the whole album had production like that then it'd easily be Kendrick's best
