You were much more polite to her than I would have been. These people who think their property rights extend straight up into space, need to be schooled on their ignorance. I would have told her that if she thinks that I don’t have the right to fly over her property and take photos, she’d better be on the phone with Google about both Google Earth and Maps.
You have no clue how helpful this was. Great job handling the unexpected visitor from across the street. Beautiful color grading. Honest. Straight-forward. Well-explained. Thanks for the tips and tricks. Can I just steal your brain? 🤪👌
I really liked this video. Thanks for dropping some knowledge bombs on me. I'm also glad that I'm not the only one who gets crap from other people about flying my drone. At least the lady came back to apologize to you. That gave me the warm fuzzies inside. I also have to agree about showing the running water in the video. It shows the potential buyer that the utilities work. Would you suggest also filming under the sink and other mechanical areas to show the drains and everything are functioning properly? Sort of like a video-taped home inspection?
Agree water on in bathrooms/kitchens, gas stoves on, ceiling fans etc./... movement is king. Well done. Is that Webill S your favorite/best gimbal? Ever use the Sigma 16mm 1.4 in side?
Nice job! I’ve been waiting to see more real estate videos from you! I’m just starting out and wanting to start doing real estate work myself. Thanks again!
Hi! Thanks for the useful insight into shooting real estate! Just wanted to check how would you compare the Rokinon 12mm and Sony 10-18mm? Is there a reason why you picked the 12mm for this shoot instead of the 10-18?
The A6600 is a great camera. It’s limited for 4K slow motion and the colors take more work than say the Fuji system I just switched to, but Sony cameras are solid and AF is right on. With real estate I don’t need AF because my lenses I use are manual. I personally edit in Premiere Pro. Producer Paul edits with FCPX.
Thanks so much for this video! Can you tell me which ND filter you chose for your Rokinon? Also, what made you decide on the Webill this time and not the ronin sc? Thanks again!!
Great tips man love your channel and the fact that you purchased an xt4 haha I’m looking into doing real estate photography and video with my xt4 and mavic air 2 just pending the 10-24 lens and possibly a gimbal as well
Ken, what handheld camera stabilizer are you using. I just have a drone and I can't shoot at low levels. I really like yours and would like to get one.
I understand the dismissive approach to the neighbor, when you know you are in a clear airspace you are literally doing nothing wrong. Dismiss and avoid the escalation and time wasted. Thank you for describing the settings as you go along!
Nice tips, deciding whether or I want to go in real estate drone business in Illinois after retiring at the end of March. (If I survive CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. LOL). Regarding the lady bugging you, maybe if you wear a reflective vest with FAA licensed pilot lettering along with a few cones She would have minded her business. 🤔
Loved it, great content and creativity. On the average how much do you charge to to do a shoot like this? This seems like an excellent ad and informational piece for the prespective buyer. Am I right, this shooting part is the easiest , post is where the the time and effort come in. Keep up the great videos , I know you tube is not easy but I love your dedication.
Very interesting video. I recently helped a Photographer do a real estate shoot, so watching your work flow gave me another perspective. You had a lot of great tips and tricks for getting better images and video. The shoot I was on didn't involve any video, so I found that part to be of particular interest. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Hey man, thanks for this video! I shoot RE videos with the same gimbal and lens, but use the A6300 for now. Do you have a list of the camera settings you use for video with your Weebill-S, Rokinon 12mm, and Sony A6600?
When you were doing your interior photos, what was that device mounted on top of your camera and was that a remote shutter release dangling from the camera? Finally, what were you holding in your hand? It looked like a flash. Would you link or tell me the brands? Thanks. I'm gathering equipt to start up my own RE photo/video biz. Very well put together video.
Love the video bro. I see you filmed in the log profile and during the video you showed the post production result. Is there a quick way you can explain how you edit that to look that good? Thanks!
Good stuff. What is the 4-1-1- on the shutter release on a wire that you used for the photos (Time: 01:20 - 02:20'ish)? Also, is that unit attached to the left side of your camera ... is it a transmitter for your flash (model #, etc.) And, final question: what flash are your using here? Is it a speedlight model? Thanks ... looking forward to the next post. Chuck : +) PS: do you encounter the annoying uninformed (about drone rules and law) neighbors a lot on your shoots?

Im in Jacksonville and I drive down to Orlando at times so when im down there hopefully I can hit you up and watch your BTS in person. Thanks!

I use manual focus. For video aperture 2.8 to f6 depending on the environment or scene. Shutter speed is always 180 degrees of my frame rate example Shoot at 24FPS so shutter 48 with that said some cameras can’t do 48 so 50 works as well.
@@OriginaldoBo Thanks. Iam experienced real estate photographer doing my first video gig next week... ;) little nervous. I will try to use Nikon d850 on Ronin S and mavic air 2 for filming... trying to.prepare. Thanks for any advice.
What laptop do you recommend that will be sufficient to edit the real estate photos and videos? Especially since you are shooting most of it in 4K? A lot of photogs speak mostly on the video gear but not the laptop, computer, and hardware/software minimums. Thanks!
i noticed you use a rokinon 12mm for your video on the gimble how do you manage manual focusing or what do you do exactly to maintain focus. Plz explain aperature and focus for me please im new.
For interiors this video you are shooting 4k24 the month before you said you always do 1080 at 60p. I want to use the best resolution at 4K but I get worried not having the wiggle room of slow motion if needed. But I’m afraid with the Sony a6400 the bitrate for 1080 60p is only 50mb. I feel like the video will look terrible and cheap. Especially at an elevated ISO which is common with interiors. What do you suggest or recommend?
Depends on the client and camera this work is never one size fits all. When shooting Sony I prefer 4K I use 24 because it does well with low light. I haven’t shot 1080 60 in a long ass time
OriginaldoBo I want 4K 60 bad and finally Sony come out with a camera supporting that but of course it’s $3500 full frame. So much money to upgrade right now.

I know right wish a Sigma 12mm Zero D 1.4 specially for those ugly dark houses that I'm getting lately 😂😂😂 maybe I can get most of the home out of focus
Hi, thanks for sharing. I am getting into real estate video with my a6400. What do you suggest for getting focus ,auto or manual? I have the sony 10-18 f4.
Ken, could you talk about how you focus with the Rokinon 12mm. I couldn't see you adjusting focus and I saw you do shots where distance obviously changed. Also why do you use a manual focus lens in this situation? I have the Sigma 30mm already and need a wide angle for my GH5 to do real estate. Help please. Thank you for this video. The rokinon 12mm is such a wide lens, once set, you don't have to change it. If you have it, use focus peaking to set the focus. You won't set the focus exactly on infinity for that lens. It can be a tiny bit to the left or right of infinity.
When that filter slides across the screen, are you increasing the saturation? Or what is changing to make it looks so much better from those before and after filter applied shots?
He shoots in s-log or another profile to work in it in post; the slider shows the difference between the initial results, vs his final edit which goes to the client. It's alot more than just saturation.

This is awesome thank you for the tips, this might be my side job that I start while I am laid off. Also great job at handling the angry people when it came to flying the drone!
you can do this by rotoscoping that first clip in After Effects, either manually, or with the aid of tracking (mocha AE would be my choice). Then basically you've got an alpha/cutout on your first clip, and you lay it on top of the 2nd clip (which needs similar pan/motion to sell the shot).
