    Hi Michelle, I did your pre warm up today &. your Biellmann off ice stretch. What a wonderful idea! The Biellmann stretches was very challenging but great. I am 64 years old & a Figure Skater myself. My time has been fulfilled by doing a lot of Yoga, stretching, working on my mobility, flexibility, strength and off ice exercises. Love it ❤️.       I have been a figure skater for a bit and I love it! I got into skating because I watched Yuri On Ice! (me being the weeb I am....) I now have the opportunity to start competition and I’m having a lot of fun!

    Can I just say this really works!!! Did this multiple times last month and got my biellmann. I try to do this routine every time I stretch so my biellmann gets better. Thanks for the video and recommend to every skater to try this video!!!! :)

    I needed this so much😻 but now the ice season has finished earlier in my town because of the corona virus😭😭 i am soooo Sad about that 😢 i would have an examination in the end of march but i hope that my friends and i could do it in September or october👍💕 i love your Videos 💞 They're verry helpfull😊❤❤❤ love uuu (ps i'm from germany)

      Coach Michelle Hong i Never was the stretchiest one but i kept practicing ❤️❤️ i‘m proud of me because i learnd to do the splits 😍 your tips for the Axel and double jumps were also verry helpfull❤️❤️ i didn‘t get them all but i also keep trying on that😁😇

      I feel you. Between the virus and the summer break, my rink, which is also on a university campus, is closed until the fall semester. I’m use to losing ice during the summer, but this is very sudden.

    P.S.Ham Strings unlock the hip flexors etc. and stretching only lasts for 10 minutes, that's why we always see Ice Skaters moving in-between their competitions performance!!! 🧘

    Figure skater, runner, and gymnast here......all started in my 30s. As for a Biellman, that is most likely not on the table for me as I really struggle with my back, shoulder, and quad flexibility (working on it), although I do have my splits. It also probably doesn't help that I have a long torso, making the reach that much harder. lol.

    it would have helped me if this video were in real time. i kept having to pause it because it's fast forwarded, glance at it because the music is playing and i wasn't sure what step we were on - it's a great stretching routine that i had to fumble through because of the pacing. just some feedback...

    Thank you for this!! I do have a request: could you do a video (or point me to a video of yours) with shoulder stretching? I'm not able to to do the proper hand hold because I don't have the flexibility in my shoulders. Love your channel - thank you for all your great content!

    Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I’ve been able to do a sort of messy Biellmann spiral, but I can’t keep my knee behind me (it turns to the side). I think that’s because I need to work on my flexibility. 🥰

    WEIRD QUESTION LOL But is there a way to practice the Biellmann for when we QUICKLY have to get out of it due to protecting yourself from slipping on the ice? Obviously it wouldn’t be safe for our backs to do that but I’m wondering if there is some sort of way to practice that. In other words, how do you practice releasing a biellmann quickly?

    You mentioned barre class! It's the first time I've ever heard anyone in the figure skating world mentioned it! (part of it is probably because I don't know a lot people lol...). But yes! I do barre! And I do it for skating! But I've never heard anyone mention it (people usually say Pilate). Hearing you say it is really reassuring. Would you say is helpful though? They do work on the muscle groups that I though are pretty important for skating?

    I'm having trouble with holding it and keeping balance. i also have trouble grabbing my foot with my other hand. i can only grab my elbow or my wrist. do you have any tips?? i always tend to get frustrated with it and i dont want to be🙂

    I had a spinal fusion surgery a little over a year ago, and they put metal rods into my spine. They only fused i think 12 levels of my spine so i can still bend mostly normally except for some stretches which make me uncomfortable. I have recently started figure skating and I wanted to learn how to do the biellman but I dont know if my spine can bend like that anymore. I am currently doing specific stretches to help me become more flexible and I think im going to try these stretches to see if my spine can bend like that 🙂

    Wow this is hard! My back is very inflexible so currently I can lift my leg reasonably high (like, above my head height), but I’m nowhere near being able to reach my free arm anywhere near it 😐

    Nice👍. I have done these stretches and other difficult ones. But I had to stop, There was one time I did a stretch, I guess i hurt my neck and I couldn't breathe for 30 seconds. Since then I have headaches especially when I'm tired, Now i have a lump feeling in my throat Associated with headaches. Have you heard of a injury that could cause this?
    This has been going on for almost 3 years. My mom told me it's the stretching that triggered it, so I stopped. I am doing leg stretching.

      The tool is actually a band to carry my yoga mat. I recommend getting a theraband to help you!

    I'm so young but I wish to become an olympic figure skater. My only fear is that i'm too tall to skate (i'm 5'6). as well as not being flexible enough

      Most tall skaters (like myself) can actually jump alot higher (or atleast give the appearance of doing so). You may need to work alot harder than shorter girls, since they have the advantage of a center of gravity closer to the ground, but as long you are fully stretched you will be a beautiful skater.

    Why is this video unnecessarily speeded up in parts? It’s unfortunate that what could be good information is made useless with you choosing to not narrate certain moves and speed up portions making it impossible to follow. Was the idea to….not follow along?
