  • This video describes how the Canadian Flower Class corvette HMCS Sackville was converted to a loop layer late in WW2, and a research vessel in the 1960s. Photographs were used to construct a model of the ship ias a research vessel, at a scale of 1:72. The ship is depicted conducting a seismic refraction experiment.

    That Revell kit keeps popping up in lots of guises. It is a great looking model.

    I remember her tied up at Jetty 5 in the 1970s when she was a research vessel ... painted in two colours: "Battleship Gray" (not the Canadian Navy standard one) and Dark Blue. We knew what she was but someone had taken her teeth away.
