    What should we try to get Sub250 to make next? A 2inch 2s micro?? YES!!!

    Nice review Nick, I recently put together a 73mm frame quad with 1102 18000kv motors, 1610 Gemfan props, running a 450mah battery and a 12A AIO, I'm really surprised how well it flies on only 1s. It struggles a bit for torque in big dives, but it is a great backyard flyer. I'm so impressed with the Betaflight 4.3.1 features it means you can really get a lot out of these tiny quads. Thanks again for all these great videos that inspire us to get out(or stay in) and play.

    Good review as always, Nick. The Sub250 NanoFly16 in class 1S with 40mm propellers and a weight of 29.5g is too heavy. Others make lighter and more efficient models. What would I change after the purchase? I would remove the lipo mount on an elastic band and the canopy on a lighter one, about 1.5g and with camera angle adjustment. This should be about 3 g less. Which, unfortunately, still does not bring its weight closer to those of other manufacturers, which oscillate around 22-23g. So I'll be waiting for other better models.

    Hello Sir, This isn't about the Sub250 quad but, I was hoping you could help me with a problem. I just bought the Happymodel Crux 35 analog and everytime it has been in the air it seems like the flight controller freaks out. I will do a punch out over the house and nose down on the way back down so I can pull out before hitting the ground. As soon as the quad is looking at the groung it spazzes out and starts spinning (Yaw axis) uncontrollably and smacks the ground. Do you have any idea what would cause this? Have I just gotten a bad quad? Any help will be very appreciated! Thank you.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be many things. One is air mode on? This keeps the props spinning when at zero throttle and stabilizes the quad. Could be esc desync, this can sometimes be solved with an increase in startup power or pid tune, could be a faulty motor, or faulty esc.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well we don’t full know if there is going to be a feature in elrs v3 that we HAVE to have. That is a big factor. There is also the possibility that elrs v3 is compatible with elrs v2. For me elrs v2 works great and I will likely stay on v2 unless there becomes a major feature I need or a bug that causes flight failure.

    I'd say it's way too heavy for a drone of this size. Carbon frame is a bit of an overkill to me. Tiny whoops these days are sub 20g with prop guards. I think plastic frame would be much better in terms of cost and weight, which would work with better flight time. An argument that carbon frames are more durable doesn't speak to me. These things weighting 20 grams rarely break at all, and even if the frame breaks, you can just simply buy one for like 5$...

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Carbon comes in handy when our performance reaches the limit of plastics holding the motors "static" during quicker maneuvers. Flying a 3dprinted frame can often be a challenge to tune and fly very aggressively due to the motor/prop movement in space.

      IDK... this 1s like a 2s? Hard to imagine that's true as 2s gives a small quad so much more punch and less battery sag. This is just like yesterday's 1s... A cruiser. I have tiny 2s quads that will literally run circles around this one! Heck, my newly built 2s DJI 75mm carbon fiber framed digital quad will run circles around this even though it's a little heavier.
      It's really hard for me to get excited about these last two reviews because:
      1. They're 1s only. Limits performance so much when compared to 2s. If they were 1s and 2s, let me tell you right now, you'd only fly it 2s, because 1s just wouldn't do it for you. 🤷
      2. It's analog. People still buy this stuff when digital is all around us from multiple manufacturers now? I promised myself about a year ago to never spend another dime on analog - anything. I've got analog quads laying around all over just collecting dust! Once you go digital, it's really hard to get excited about flying analog. 👍
      3. It's so much dough! 💰💰💰 For just a few bucks more as a PNP, and a few bucks less with Crossfire, I can buy a Caddx Vista with a Nebula Pro Nano and convert one of my " dust collectors" (analog quads) into digital and have that ultra clear picture it's hard to stray from!
      When a brand new company comes into the FPV market right now, and produces analog quads, they certainly have a short life expectancy (as does analog), and I don't think they're very smart. 😂🥴
      Nice review Nick, they'll sell a few, I'm sure, but at over $150 for a 1s cruiser, I can't see many paying that much for so little. I don't think the analog only guys will lay out that much dough for something this limiting. Live and learn, I guess. 😎🤘

    Thrust lumps could very well be related to ducted/protected quads from the prop combo overcoming the duct inefficiency. Possibly why this seemed more smooth/stable...I fly my Mob6 ductless with 40mm 2blades and it seems much smoother than the original ducted setup.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't you think if it were a result of the duct it would be consistent? The ducting is ever present. The 0803 is better at carrying more weight, but we don't see 0803 all that often these days.
