      The A30 batteries don't make reliable connection to the BT2.0 connectors on my WhoopStor v3 so I'm guessing the pins on BT2.0 are slightly thinner.

    Great review. Neat little quads. I wish battery connectors for these would settle on one. Glad I didn't get any GNB27's. Good to see Flywoo following up with improved PIDs, too many products stop any sorts of imporvement once the first unit ships. As always, love watching you abuse new stuff and your recomendations/tips. Happy early Father's day!

    The deadcat v1 analog was the first drone I ever purchased, and the one I started flying with outdoors, up until it took one too many crashes in the snow and had to be retired. I pretty much had no choice but to get the v2 (in HDZero of course) and I absolutely love it. Definitely could use an improved PID tune, as I do get a lot of shakes when flying in certain ways. That being said, I *love* tree surfing with this lil thing, it's great for going along the branches and sneaking through all the little holes and spaces you discover as you go along.

    I still have a UR65 that struggled to get two minutes on a battery even when the battery was new! I have since upgraded from 0603 motors to 0802 motors due to the fact that when I attempted to change props on the 603 motors, three of the four shafts came off with the props. The 0802 motors and a 450mah battery now give 4 minutes of flight time even though it is a little heavy!

  • @DonJohnsonFPV
    @DonJohnsonFPV ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Nick,
    I heard your "complains" on 1002, but you need to take in count that all those made by RCinpower (Flywoo/sub250/HGLRC) use flat magnet, and this is a bad choice for flight caracteristic and efficiency... Just compare them with some HM, the difference should be pretty obvious (but yes HM 1002 aren't durable for a non ducted motor...)

    I have had really great flight times with HDZero on 45mm bi blades and a 1s 85mm hdzero build I managed to get down to 33.6g so far without sacrificing durability. Both get around 5 minutes practicing power loops indoors for most of that time. I originally intended to try and build a 2s setup with 200 - 300mah batterites wired in series but I find the 1s works well enough for indoors if you get the weight right. I really wish 1s with flywoo 1002 15,500kv had just a little more power as it would be perfect for 1s indoor and 2s outdoor but to get any meaningful power out of 1s you need at least 20,000kv and a light build out or 22,000kv+ on heavier builds.

    You can run 45mm props on the Analog version (at least with the newest model with the Goku F405 ERVT 12A FC), no cables to cut. I was looking around for the "new PIDs" but I assume they are shipped on it, if I have the latest model (bought a couple weeks ago). I've been loving it, but I found that the bundled 1609 props would spin off in flight with a sharp maneuver. I had a spare set of 45mm GF props (from my Meteor75 Pro?). I bought some more and they've have been working great. Good to know they won't work on the HD version, tho.

    Nick. I built a similar set up with 0802 as suggested by your video, felt anemic. 1002 motors with Gemfan 2015 is the best combo. I just built similar set up with the new 1003 motors, this blew me away! felt more like an 1102, was able to handle 2023 propellers very well, it even flew well with 2.5 propellers. You may wanna try them on your rocket set up.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm. I have not had a similar experience. 1002 motors I have tested, in my opinion, could only effectively handle up to 2inch biblades effectively. Maybe you have found a especially good 1002 motor or have and esc config working well in these configurations. I have also tried 51mm props but having difficulty tuning out excessive prop wash.

    Very good review! I would like to ask a few questions pls.
    1. I got Radiomaster Boxer and will it be compatible with this ELRS version drone or it might be made to be compatible?
    2. I see there are 450 nad 750 batteries of flywoo - and what the difference in weight(you didn't put on the scale the 450 one) and fly time between the two? Which one would you suggest?
    3. Is frame and/or canopy is enough durable or should i purchase 1 extra from start so i don't wait/nofly while waiting for new one if 1st breaks?

    Great review. I can't help but think that these 1s Nano FR/DC 16 are smaller versions of the 2s version which is not selling well. Happymodel Mobula7/Moblite7 are still king in the same price range because having owned a 1s Nano Baby Firefly, flywoos are less durable compared to the Mobula tiny whoops. I am actually considering trying this 1s Nano FR16 frame with the Mobula8 X12 lite AIO, but not sure if the clearance of the USB plug is enough on the X12 AIO to fit the 1s Nano FR16 frame. Spare replacement parts seem more easily available especially in Europe with HappyModel tiny whoops also.

  • @Bill_Bo
    @Bill_Bo ปีที่แล้ว

    I just got one of these analog. I have only been flying FPV for 2-3 weeks and this is my second FPV quad. I started with the Meteor65 which I love and it has no problems. The issue I am having with Nano Baby is when I drop quickly almost straight down it can start trembling. Is that what you call "wash out"? I really wish it wouldn't do that.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I presume your dropping down with the quad flat? If so we tend to call that prop wash and honestly its going to happen on most fpv quads to some degree. The issue is we are flying straight down in the air disturbed by the props already, so the props are flying through what we call dirty air. To descend smoothly we need to use some forward and nose/pitch down.

    • @Bill_Bo
      @Bill_Bo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickBurnsFPV Exactly. It is when I drop flat, which I do quite a bit as I am always catching myself from going faster than I am comfortable. I am going to try upping the damping in BF which they had set at 1.25 hoping that makes it a little smoother while I am still learning. I am having a blast flying a little every day. off the top of my head something like the happymodel crux3 1s, or the hx115 from betafpv. These are 3inch propped quads which will get more flight time, at the expense of size. Great info on these fun looking quads, I thought about dropping a hint for one of these to the kids for falther's day. But I just happened to see a huge price drop on the TCMMRC Kun65 on Amaz0n and couldn't resist it.
    What you said about motor size was interesting.
    I have a relevant question about that when you get a minute
    I'm in the process of resurrecting a Mobula7 (on meteor75 pro frame) that got pretty busted up, and I ruined the camera on. I'm putting a Runcam Nano3 split 255 on it *and* making it a pusher(proof of concept tinkering basically😀). I have a feeling its going to be on the heavy side. I want to use 45mm props but debating on using the RS0802 20000kv motors from the Mobula7 or some 1102 18000kv Betafpv motors?
    Obviously I don't know what I'm doing and it will probably fly like a turd, but I just want to see if I can do it.

    I kinda get tired of these manufacturers coming out with these BNF drones with all of these mistakes that could have been either designed better or improved on. These are yet two more like that. I think we need to realize we can build a similar quad that is so much better than what any of the manufacturers come up with. Use a better canopy with fully adjustable tilt for our camera. Picking a frame that fits those 45mm props, etc. Seems these BNF's are always a compromise! 🤷
    Another thing... If you are getting 7 - 10 minute flights - YOU ARE USING TOO BIG OF A BATTERY ON THESE TINY 1S QUADS! Performance is much less, than if you just expected to get 3 - 5 minutes a flight, but you get so much better performance because your lipo is so much lighter weight! Just change your lipo more often and reap the benefits of a proper weight lipo. These aren't supposed to get long flight times, they are supposed to get high performance and 3-5 minute flights. Understand, getting long flights is killing your performance! And, long flights is a NEWBIE THING and we need to ignore. The Newbies that constantly bring up "how long of a flight did you get?" Kinda Newbie questions. As I mentioned, we are used to getting 3 minute flights, and pretty much anything longer than a minute of so longer than that and you are using too heavy of a battery. IT'S A FRIGGIN' 1S! 🤦
    Bottom line: Build your own, get camera angle adjustability, use 45mm props, etc, etc... All the things Nick mentioned you can achieve by building it yourself!
    Use proper lipos to get good flight times but not double weight lipos to get long flights compromised by the super heavy weight of your huge lipo! Just like whoops, these micros aren't about long flights, they're about getting the weight as low as possible to get great spirited performance. RIP IT! 🤘
    Well, unless you like flying heavy barge?! Lol
    Best of luck! 😎🤘

      It does sometimes surprise me how much other look at long flight time, at least the verbal section of FPV. I have had a few that won't by an fpv drone until it can get at least 10 minutes of flight. I suspect many of those are either coming from camera drones or haven't been around long enough to develop much of a flight envelope.

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickBurnsFPV Yes, they're coming from camera drones...and those don't have a choice of batteries...just the one that's made for it. We need to help these uneducated Newbies - Help them understand that with FPV drones we have a choice of battery sizes. Help them ESPECIALLY UNDERSTAND that long flight times equal lower performance - lower to the point of sluggish response and the "Flying Barge Syndrome!" They are simply new to the hobby and don't know any better. We have to educate them TO KNOW BETTER. They need to learn that long flight time isn't "really" a thing with micro drones. With camera drones, they can't afford to purchase many batteries because they charge about $100 each! With micro drones we can buy several dozen batteries if we want to. They need to be taught that 3 - 4 minutes is normal and ultra lightweight batteries is THE BEST! It improves performance, as you know, and gives us the performance that is normal for FPV drones. We simply take one battery out and pop a new charged battery in and take off and fly again. OR, RIP AGAIN! Because the micro performs awesome cuz the battery isn't making IT FEEL LIKE FLYING A HEAVY BARGE!
      You, my friend, are just the guy to teach these nubile FPV pilots! BURNS KNOWS BEST! LOL
      But, no offense, you've got to quit making it seem like a 10 minute flight time is a good thing. It's not! Because you and I both know that battery is way, WAY TOO HEAVY! All Micros should use between a 260mah and a 380mah lipo. Remember what you recommend for a 2S? That little Turnigy 2S 300mah that I went out and bought a slug of because they are the best! You know,.I've never even owned a1S bigger than 380mah?! Seriously, I've never even bought a 450mah 1S - TOO DAMN HEAVY when that same micro can easily fly on a 300mah 1S and perform way better. "It's all about weight with micros/whoops!" ,,, and more lipos is the way to go intead of BIG ONES! :)

      @@NickBurnsFPV For what it's worth, the appeal for me isn't to recreate a camera drone.
      I liked the V1 so much because that 7 - 8 minute flight time led to a sort of mini-explorer that could always be in your bag. At a moment's notice, you could be buzzing grass level across whatever cool place you found. If you managed to lose it forever, you were out maybe $130. Just a ton of fun.
      I absolutely get making a 3 - 4 minute freestyle machine, but I'll miss having this option now that the original has been replaced. I guess I'll have to try to just recreate it myself? I've never built a micro but I don't see why that shouldn't be doable.
