Totally agree here I have a 2018 LCI M2 love the car the new designs are not great lol front looks terrible and the rear looks O.K. Interior refresh is nice though would love to have the digital gauges
Fun review but the ZF 8-speed is a torque converter automatic (not a dual clutch), and the car isn't just sold for base or with a carbon package: there are plenty of options to add to the car including adaptive headlights, the HUD you had in your tester, shadowline, carbon fiber roof, etc.
The '23 BRZ and M2 are a world apart in my experience. For the price brz is really good, but head to head against m2 performance, cabin noise, utility, and features it's not comparable.

i traded by 2022 gr86 for a m240. Such a superior car. Even the 230i was magnitudes more exciting and fun to drive whether on a highway or twisty roads. I can only imagine how amazing the m2 is.

0-60 is 3.9 according to BMW not 3.5 and it’s not a dual clutch. I love the car but hate the rear end-It reminds me of a Nismo 350z square rear bumper, and I can’t get past that.
It really does just look like a Lego version of the F87. I've got a 21' M2C (manual), this new one is not meant for the same type of drivers or owners at all.

The 230i and M2 are very different from each other, the 230i is build with luxury in mind, the M240i is the balance between luxury and performance, while the M2 is a true M car.. a driver’s car.

Except I’ve owned an OG M2 and now M2C and regularly tracked both. The weight IS an issue. I would have no issue moving to G87 but it isn’t a clear upgrade, it falls behind in some areas, weight included. I’m not afraid to criticise because I want BMW to improve on what I love. Makes no sense to just roll over and accept it. We’ll never get what we want with that attitude. I’ll remain optimistic and wait for the G87 CS but unless they are criticised, BMW won’t listen and will have no incentive to improve.

Looks are very subjective. It took a while for the M3/M4 grill for me to get used to and now I do love them. The overall look of this new M2 has yet to grow on me. For now I’ll choose the M3/M4 over this.

the gr86 gets gapped by mini-vans. That's really all you need to know about such a sad car.
M2 steering wheel itself is so much better, the precision and weight are also better than thr gr86.
