    Burger here. 🍔 I definitely agree with all of your reasons here, Steph & Nick. Very well said! 👏
    As an American expat, health care in Korea is nothing short of a Wonder of the World in my opinion. It's such a great system. 👍
    I'm so happy you mentioned FOOD as well, guys! Korea has such a great selection of foods to choose from! And, I'm not only talking about Korean Cuisine. It's literally a foodies' playground. Plus, you can always count on affordable & healthy food that can also be delivered virtually anytime! CONVENIENCE 😋

    Okay, I have to choose between Japan and Korea as my place of employment, same company just have to choose between one of the branch. I have known Japanese people but I haven't met or interacted with korean people. I am inclined to Japan but South Korea also sounds good. This helps a lot.

    • @kind0fkorean

      @shhdya9703:
      I have lived in both countries and there are several contrasts which I'd like to point out. Life in S.Korea seems more 'raw' compared to that of Japan in that the difficult aspects of life seem to be more visible in S.Korea.
      Salaries have tended to be better in Japan but research salaries in your industry. In general, Korean people tend to be more dynamic, outwardly emotional, extraverted. In general, Japanese people tend towards introversion and subtlety. In Japan, it might take longer for people to accept and trust you but both peoples are sensitive in general. Once you make a real friend in either country, you have a friend for life. I think it's easier to understand Korean culture.
      The Confucian ethos is extremely strong in Korea and colors everything ---especially relationships.
      I guess I would describe the difference as a on-screen Broadway Musical in Technicolor (S.Korea) vs a painting such as Impression,Sunrise by Claude Monet. You can see objects clearly in the foreground but the background isn't so clear and THAT is where the real action is happening! I lived there for 4 years. Of course, S.Korea has it's elegant, subtle aspects of the culture and Japan has its very emotive side as seen in Enka Music.
      Actually, I think you have to think about your own emotional and social needs as well as compare any financial differences as well as the weather!
      It has been a year since you wrote your post. What did you finally decide? How did you fair?
      Thank you!🌺🌺🌺

    Thank you 🙏 so very much for iterating the reasons to visit or live in South Korea. For myself, I have asthma & really love that Busan is a favorable option. Seoul can be on the pricer side for the cost of housing & the poor air quality. So, when I visit, I may choose Busan to visit & will enjoy the older generation for conversation, etc. Also, love to visit Jeju Island 🏝 too! 🥰❤️🤗 The vast amount of food choices are amazing & it really made my mouth water! 😋🤤🤭 Really love the affordable health care, too. It is so outrageous how much the price of medical insurance is, here in the USA. The last quote for myself was about $450 a month! So, it is sad that I am not able to afford that amount. There is another option that I need to check out for lost cost medical care. Hopefully I will qualify to receive the benefits.

      I lived in S.Korea,too. As a woman I would warn the 'starry-eyed' sweet young things to not go to S.Korea thinking that ALL of the men are K-drama heroes just waitng to rescue them and put them on a pedestal all to the tune of their favorite singer's most popular romantic ballad. Many of the young female students/visitors are so naive and truly believe that everything in S.Korea is as it is portrayed on t.v. in the K(orean)-dramas! I would say that many of the men there are just hardworking, polite regular guys who want to live a peaceful life. But just like in some other countries, there is a nasty strain of machismo in some Korean men which leads them to believe that rape is o.k. Quite a number of young foreign women and I daresay, Korean women, too, have been date raped, often drugged with something in their drink . There is now a documentary on TH-cam about their experiences. A woman who is vigilent and more street saavy or who is accompanied by her husband, boyfriend or girlfriends has a better chance of avoiding it.
      Please warn all of the women you know who will go there to be as careful as they would in theiŕ own country, after all there is no perfect fairyland
      anywhere in the world, S.Korea included.🌺

I remember in school we had a asian immigrant, don't remember from which country but she had a problem with her computer and I helped her. And Korean males like to pay cause it is how they show they are doing well than you. My biggest issue was the food. I got allergies and you can't get the details here in korea when you eat out. I spent only 5-6 years in Kangnam area in the 90s. Maybe Korea is better than UK being overloaded by Muslims.. But for me who hates cold weather I prefer my state of FL.

      While this CAN be the case unfortunately, it's not a universal truth here. I have many friends from the African continent here who Koreans are super friendly, loving and kind too. They say they have never been treated with such kindness. But, it depends on how lucky you are. England is the same sometimes.

      @@kind0fkorean I am just aware that asian culture is known to worship white people and would regard white over their own. There is nothing wrong with having a preference but the Asian’s preference for white as the ONLY beauty standard is twisted and toxic. It does no good for society to harbor such an ongoing mindset. But I guess media is to blame for such a skewed perception … meh
