Just ordered this pair, tried a pair on before ordering and you’re 100% correct to go up a 1/2 size. I may try some gray, or maybe even orange laces, to give that extra color you suggest could’ve been done in the pull tab. Thanks for the review!
That’s great to hear 👍 if you like the look of the CodeChaos, then check out my review of the Mizuno Wave Cadence - very similar style, but the Mizuno passes the waterproof test - nothing came through! The Tour X is very different shoe to the CodeChaos...I’d give my Under Armour Spieth 4 review a look as it is pretty much going head to head with the Footjoy Tour X. Planning to do a ‘most stable shoe’ comparison video soon too 👍 Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already (I think you might have done already but just in case 😂)
Love the look and the comfort, have the pro SL new version but got wet when playing in the rain so now looking for a shoe to get me through the Irish winter. Will take a look at those other reviews though as I have store credit from my previous shoes could be limited with selection 😪 tour x look like a solid waterproof shoe so will try them on tomorrow
@@stevenp5234 I don't think I did the hardcore waterproof test on them, I still have them so I'll see if I can dig them out in the morning and do the test to let you know.
Thanks for the review. I’ve ordered some as more of a summer shoe. However no problems putting some trainer water proofing spray on the tong/mesh which would help with water proofing and staining.
I wear a 10 in adidas lite racer and other running shoes..... in the code chaos, the 10 wide feels like absolute heaven (obviously wide sizes exist now where at the time of this vid they didnt) I ordered the grey ones.
Great point on the wide fit - I have quite a narrow foot so the regular fit me great, but even so I can feel it's a close fit, especially in the toe box. Thanks for watching Chad!
Yeah need to give them a proper clean soon, just have too many shoes to review at the moment! Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already 👍
Great review mate. They are lovely looking shoes. Might have to wiggle some cash from somewhere, especially after the commitment of wearing them in the bath!
Thanks for watching 👍 Very nice; They are so cool. Was hoping to pick up a pair, looks like they use a different upper material than the regular CodeChaos?
Thanks for watching. I’d say it’s breathable enough. There’s more breathable shoes out there for sure as the upper isn’t all that breathable on the CodeChaos. However the mesh tongue does help a little so I never got uncomfortably hot in these shoes even in the summer, just warm 👍
I went true to size and they’re fine for me, but I could have gone half a size bigger to be fair. Haven’t felt much give to be honest so far. Fit quite tight across the toe box and top of the foot, so could go 1/2 up for a bit more wriggle room 👍
Do you find your big toe on the inside corner slightly touching the roof of the toe box? Just received a pair and I’m concerned about them rubbing on the course. I went a half size up as well as I have wide feet 😂
Thanks for watching Josh. Personally I don’t, but they are quite a slim fit. Maybe see if you can get a pair of the code chaos sport which have a wider fit, and then keep the ones that fit best?
Thanks for watching Jim. I’ve never had any problem cleaning the tread. The foam is the same as all shoes with white boost, so it does mark up pretty quick unless you use a protector. But it hasn’t bothered me to be honest.
Haha, that's actually a tough one. Both are VERY good golf shoes, but are actually quite different - leather upper on the Pro SL with a more traditional look vs synthetic upper and sporty look with the CodeChaos. If you can find the Codechaos and like the looks they are significantly cheap so they could be the way to go. The Pro SL can take a little time to break in, especially at the heel, where as no breaking in with the CodeChaos. Hope that helps :)
@@GolfGuyReviews Same quandary here! I don't mind spending the extra to look after my feet. Would you say one trumps the other in terms of foot care? It's really difficult to judge without being able to try them on...and even then I would struggle to make a decision!
@@kylehartigan8909 It's a tricky one as both are great shoes, but are very different. The Pro SL Carbon does have a high quality feel for sure, but that's understandable given the materials and additional cost. If I had to bet which would last longer I'd go with the Pro SL, but a lot will depend on how you look after your shoes. With that said, the CodeChaos was more comfortable for me straight out the box as they fit more like trainers, compared to the Pro SL which is more substantial and can take breaking in, so it really depends on what you're looking for in your shoes and how much you're happy to spend. Both are some of the best spikeless shoes available currently. I just want to highlight I have zero qualifications when it comes to foot care, I just give my honest opinions of how I find the shoes to fit and perform. No one knows your own feet better than you 😎 So my advice where possible it to take advantage of free returns, and don't rush the decision 👍 I hope that helps.
@@GolfGuyReviews 👍 Thanks man. I managed to find a free return for the CodeChaos so will see how they feel. I'll probably end up buying them and a different pair of more water proof shoes for winter...likely the Pro SL Carbon 🤣
@@thl9015 Ah sorry I didn't realize you wanted the white ones specifically. There's an all black version here in the UK with a hint of very dark purple at the bottom which seems to be really popular given it's winter now. Maybe they'll re-stock the lighter colours for spring/summer.
Thanks for watching! I can’t say I had too many issue like you mention on wet concrete, but I can see why they would be slippery given the harder outsole used ikon the ball of the foot. That said, any spikeless shoe using a hard outsole will be slippery on wet concrete
@@GolfGuyReviews Golfers i know are turning to trail runners for golf with vibram grips and gore tex because they want to walk anywhere in their golf shoes like nike pegasus trail 3 goretex for example.
Boost is not a stand alone piece of technology, nike and other brands have made very competitive cushion systems against it. Also the "grip" of the shoe is called the outsole
Thanks for watching ODonskey. I've done a fair few reviews of different shoes using either Nike React or Phylon, Puma Ignite or Fusion foam, they each have their own characteristics for sure. Appreciate I didn't use the technical term, I try not to as I feel the majority of the golf audience will call it grip :) But thanks for the feedback

Nice work J Reed. Love the idea of changing the laces out, I always want to do it. Some grey with orange reflective in them could look sweet!
