Yep, that was my first guess, too. Seems quite a few of us came to that conclusion. I still want to see how this all pans out, though. Does he finally do the right thing and stay at the bar to drink copious amounts of coffee and ice water to sober up?
My guess is that the car symbolizes that he was responsible for killing someone while drunk driving. Seems to be a frequent thing in video games.
Yeah anytime someone in an indie horror game goes through a bunch of creepy shit where a ghostly person chases them it's either murdering husband or drunk driver. It's getting so old lol
Whoa. That demo _felt_ like a hangover. The changing focus, movement, and opening scene made me want to take a few Advil and lie down. 😂 Yup, I'm interested to see how the game plays out. 👍

Ha, this indeed felt like a hangover (minus the monster, at least in my case) ^^
To quote Freddy Krueger : "every town has an Elm Street"
The demo is cool but I'm a little bit concerned about two things. First the monster I guess is Futakuchi-onna or "two-mouthed woman", a youkai with ZERO relation to alcoholism or any kind of addiction. If they truly cared about Japanese folklore they should have chosen a more appropriate creature like Bimbou-gami. Second, this is YET another demo from an unreleased game from the guys of Unfollow and Follow. Are they gonna release any of these games? Or this is some kind of strategy like the devs from Abandoned?
Could be kuchisake-onna tho, lurking for lonely people in empty alleys at night.
But isnt the Futakuchi-Onna mouth supposed to be gluttonous & eternally hungry?
Gluttenony & Addiction are closely bonded in concept. That could be what they are going for? But that could also be me giving too much credit
All these brilliant Horror Game Demo's of late. I really cant wait to see the full games of them.

And especially ones with History.
And Japanese And Asian Story lined Horrors are my favourite.
(Also a Big big fan of Japanese Horror Movies.... And classic Hammer Horror).

"Why is this happening to me?" Because you killed someone in a drunk driving accident and now you're in purgatory/hell. Yawn. (I should add that the game looks great, it's well choreographed, everything is on point, but they coudn't signpost the inevitable ending to the final game harder if they tried.)
Indoors was Phasmaphobia, outdoors was Silent Hill

This being a psychological horror game, and the protagonist being an alcoholic, I bet he's responsible for the death of someone while being drunk... Honestly, the only thing that appealed to me during this demo were the great visuals, the rest felt like a bunch of scenes stitched together, sprinkled with a few jump scares. And using the "this was a nightmare" trope twice in 20 mins doesn't bode well for the full game, imo. With that said, I'll probably watch it if you eventually decide to play the full game, because it does look great.

i wont lie, its been a while since I have heard the voice acting from an indie horror be so damn good. Whoever it is, did a damn good job, esspiecally at the end...he truly sounded terrified.

It feels like it's going to follow the generic "Guy accidentally kills someone when driving while drunk, and victim haunts him, or he's trapped in some semblance of purgatory where he relives his greatest mistake," type deal.
It could be interesting or subvert that expectation... Either way, good or bad, I'd still watch you play it.
The set up and premice is nothing new but this was pretty well executed. Voice acting decent. Looks very nice. Seen worse, pretty frequently on this channel in fact haha.

Damn demos lol so well yeh… that was a thing. It looked really good… I duno all these demos are blending together and feel like the same game of a different chapter in a larger story lol always have little sections that intrigue me to want to see more though usually. Just hate feeling like I know where it’s going is all… but at least it wasn’t like…. Dropping us in a house and circling two corridors the whole game looking for differences…. Those games end up boring me to tears half the time… but I’m interested in who that lady was that he wandered into her shop and she said he would be back.. right now the “monster” seems like an obvious link from his alcoholism as a crutch… you know on his back just out of sight… you can’t see her but you can feel the weight of her regardless… she’s stabbing you in the gut… just like you will have body aches and illness linked to addiction…. Just kinda the way I saw it… but yeh it could be cool to find out how they’re going to continue this if you choose to play.
