This episode was directed by Yuugo Serikawa, he made the best episodes in the show imo, episodes 1, 32, 38, 41, 48, 52, 57, 62 and 67. Sadly did not go on to work on Great Mazinger.
These series is about the robots, like Godzilla is about Kaiju Most fans do not want the mature human nonsens in this, we want to see Mazin fight robots, upgrade, etc. You know mecha stuff.
