Non si sono neanche SPRECATI a comporre una sigla italiana, con quello che è stato Goldrake in Italia. Se non fosse mai esistito Atlas UFO Robot, questo cartoncino animatino sarebbe anche carino... ma facendo i dovuti paragoni, sti arabi hanno vomitato una merdina tiepida.

製作陣の意識が出てるかもしれませんね。やっぱ主人公こうだ、子どもがカッコよく感じるよう描こうという気持ちが奥底にあったかもしれません。
現代はオシャレにスマートな感じに仕上げたいという感覚じゃないでしょうか。作り手が「子どもたちが喜ぶようにしよう」という考えも減ってるのではないでしょうか。

What's funny about this is in the 1970s character designs were light years better compared to today's weird one week doujenshi/h-game level designs. They should've learned a few things from Yamato 2199 modernize BUT stay faithful to the original.
Totally agree, Yamato 2199 is how to modernize an old anime. The old Duke Fleed was so much better in every way.
Yes and no, by today they look diferent but on those year they where very recycle, dont believe see, devilman first anime, getter, kitetsu jeeg, tekaman and many mora, they called it the toei protagonist

新作見たけどコレジャナイ感が半端無かった・・・
I was born in 1976, just to be old enough to see Grendizer in the italian version (probably the first anime to land in Italy)...
... there is no comparison.
The OG Duke Fleed appeared older, much sad inside for the loss of his original planet (actually lost in a war he could not fight in time) but resolute and unbreakable in will, to defend Earth as his adopted place. And also had Grendizer as an actual co-protagonist, as there were ALWAYS a fight against a Vega's robot monster each episode, and each one had its own "fight plot/tactic", in which you could sense some stakes to actually achieve victory for Grendizer
Grendizer U has some cool visuals (I like the refreshed mecha-design) but... dunno... it is flat as storytelling: not focusing realling on fights, not really going deep in the character development/emotions (probably also by the less number of episodes to actually build a more developed story), with a kid/younger Duke that, actually, put his planet in disarray by himself, in a fit of rage/mental breakdown when he could not take full control of Grendizer.
Grendizer U: 6/10 overall (decent, watchable, but... something is missing...)
Grendizer OG: 12345678987654321/10. Larger than life, maybe less iconic in Go-Nagai mind (his first born is Mazinger), but at the time the one with most maturity in the development (... coming after the full development of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger stories)...
... and the italian dub version is THE BEST one in the world and exponentially elevated the scale. For each Grendizer U episode, I keep earing in my mind the ICONIC Italian Duke's voice (deep, powerful and explosive) of Romano Malaspina!!!
Wrong Guy!!! A lot!! The French version is the BEST of all, SOrry!! ^^

昔のロボアニメ主人公って少年の憧れのナイスガイだったのだろうけど、いまの主人公って情緒不安定で悩んでばかりいいる「大丈夫か?」って感じのばかり。憧れより共感という事なのかも知れんが、爽快感を求めて見てるのに、アニメを見てまでウダウダ悩みたくないね。

少なくとも勧善懲悪ロボアニメの主人公は、逞しい熱血漢であって欲しいですね。
Feast of Wolves did this better than the reboot. But the reboot’s take on this scene is really good.
こうして見比べると、新作も旧作の雰囲気をうまく再現してると思います。
ただ個人的な感想としては、当然新作の方が画はキレイですが旧作の作り込みの凄さに改めて驚かされる形になりましたね。

Actually Actarus looks like a wimp in this version, he's slim and looks weak not to say a little gay, he's always crying, whereas in the old version he's muscular, he's indeed a little older, he's got wisdom and he always gets his revenge wihout having to be all wimpy all the time. That truly bothers me.

All that's missing is the classic Duke Fleed soundtrack, even in an homage during one of these launches in U. I'm just pleased to see Grendizer get some attention after such a long time of MazingerMazingerMazinger and GetterRoboGetterRoboGetterRobo shows.

the new Duke fleed is too weak and not mature like original 1975 classic. too much useless romance and talks instead of action. Story is also very foggy on almost everything. they should have just remastered and add new modern effects and design to the classic and it would have been gold. also, the theme song absolutely no comparison with 1975. the original theme wins hands on. the new one is not suitable at all.

옛날 그렌다이져 만화는 아날로그 작화 하나하나에 작업자의 땀냄새가 풀풀 날 정도로 거칠고 뭔가 대범하고 임펙트가 강한데... 지금 나온 작품은 가볍고 순하고 그냥 애들 수준인 것 같음...
진정한 일본 애니는 60's~90's 시기였음. 나머지는 너무 가볍고 개성이 없음...

The new Duke Fleed is a little boy with no charm and depht, the classic one was a beautiful and irresistible character, more mature and romantic. Shingo Araki and Kazuo Komatsubara's designs are too superior, there is no comparison. On the contrary, the new Grendizer is very well done.
