I won't lie, Tranzor Z was my introduction to Mazinger Z. And it made me the passionate Mazinger fan I am today. While its widely forgotten today by most of the fans (as its not the best version of Mazinger), Tranzor Z served its purpose; it introduced western audiences to the series. And for the most part, it did its job well.
I remember Tranzor Z very well. It may have been edited a lot, but so was Voltron and Ultimate Muscle and they did well. Voltron made it to DVD but not Tranzor Z nor Ultimate Muscle, I wish they both did. If only there was some way to go back in time, get a second chance to watch those classics, and relive those good old days.
@@dreamguardian8320 Of course. But I think we can both agree that while the Americanized versions of those shows are heavily edited, they have their sense of charm. Especially for those of us who grew up with them. They may not be as solid as the originals, but they're still enjoyable in their own right.
I watched it in Spanish when I was a kid. I saw Tranzor Z on Channel 60 Chicago, but US edited Anime has always been lame. In Latin America, all the did was translate the dialogue. Everything else was left intact. They didn't try to westernize the story or the characters. The Japanese names stayed the same.
That's because networks where you lived didn't have standards and practices to deal with. Nothing stifled creativity more than censors. There was an amazing Flash Gordon series in the early 1980s that was VERY well done, up until the network executives demanded they make a bunch of "kid friendly" changes. The show was cancelled almost over night after that.
Robotech, Tranzor Z, Voltron, Trailblazer was the line up back then i often stepped away when trailblazers was on but yeah my childhood and intro to anime. 😎simple time is always the most memorable.
In San Bernardino back in 1985 my dad gave me 20 bucks. I went to the Chinese swap meet and I got me one of those bad boys before the cartoon even came out. I ended up trading it maybe for some bicycle parts Huffy or Red line.
I could only make it about three minutes in before getting too irritated with AI voice reading the script in this video. Maybe try using your own voice, or use another script reader with a voice that is more natural and can actually pronounce words correctly. It's too bad because I grew up loving Tranzor Z and always wondered what happened to the production company that made it by altering Mazinger Z.

I was lucky to see it in Spanish. I saw the whole thing.
Watched this in El Salvador...no editing...it was great
Oof, the AI voice is hard to listen to. Still very informative though

This would've been WAY better with a human voice... Constructive criticism ❤

An English dub mazinger z with tranzor z theme would be epic
