  • An up close comparison of the cartridge progression from the 1866 to the 1876.
Also a comparison of the size of the rifle in correlation to the increase in cartridge size.

I'm looking at selling my Spencer carbine copy and buying a remake of that bigger, wider, heavier weapon. Thanks for making a great video without useless talk. I subscribed.

They didn’t want bigger, wider and heavier … until 1886. Then it was bring on the heavy weights! Nice video, thanks for sharing it.

Hello sir, I'm a old, small time Winchester, Marlin and old double barrel shotgun collector myself. My collection however, in no way rivals your large, exceptional and wonderful collection! One thing I have long noticed in videos, is that the camera lens can trick your brain and sometimes it makes it hard to tell size and dimensions of items when they are compared with similar items. I know from personal experience that the model 1876 is much larger and heaver than the model 1873 but I have to say, your video does not do justice (by no fault of you) in the comparison of these two rifles, and just how much they really do differ. I am just noting this in case one of your viewers may have not had the opportunity to see/hold in person, these two firearms next to each other. This is a very fine video, but as I said, the camera can/does some tricky things sometimes, through no fault of the camera man!
I just found and subscribed to your channel, and am very much enjoying your videos! You do a wonderful job teaching, explaining and describing the firearms and the history behind them. You are also a very good storyteller, and your gun collection is...amazing! Thank you for giving us all the opportunity to enjoy, what you present. Carry on sir!

Is it possible to cycle and shoot a .45 Long Colt and a .45-60 WCF in a .45-70 Government action?
