How could you block the body from using a specific metal/etc. for anything other than in place of the perfect bone?
I'm looking at selling my Spencer carbine copy and buying a remake of that bigger, wider, heavier weapon. Thanks for making a great video without useless talk. I subscribed.
Great video !
A pleasure...Ok Video
A pleasure...
So you dont crimp at all if the bullet doesn't have a cannalur?
An actual reloading room, that doesn't look like it was made for social media.
is the barrel also suppose to reach out and touch the target?
One of the few shotguns you can shoot on a motorcycle
Found a 1897 in my Barn that I forgot about for 40 years 😟 A little surface rust, but it cleaned up well 🙂 Now ,shoots great and still looks great ✝️🇺🇸😀
It look drop dead gorgeous
Great overview of two classics. Thanks!!
I have the Hawkeye. It's a three digit Sn 756. I have a original box of Winchester ammo and a 1962 Guns and Ammo magazine with the write up in the Hawkeye. Nice video
..Thomas Bennett, head of Winchester, did NOT want to pay JMB royalties - he was perfectly happy with the standard setup he'd had from the beginning - buying the design outright from JMB - Bennett was 'getting over ' on Browning and he, Browning, realized it - he'd been getting royalties from FN for a while and knew he could take it to Belgium but wanted US sales also - his relationship had been solid from the beginning with Winchester - but I assume that his brother, Matt, who was the business brain of the company, talked Jon into demanding the royalty payments...I love the story of Bennett's refusal onre of the best cautionary tales in business history...EVER!!!
The gun that took JFK
Just out of curiousity what gauge were most of these shotguns?
If it’s an original Winchester most likely 10 gauge.
James Files was a crack shot with this. got JFK in the Temple
Thank you for all your help information. Specially, on the 22 jet, thank you again.
Does it lock on the hammer like a rolling block rifle?
Have 256 Win Mag and 22 Rem Jet barrels for my TC Contender. Love them. Have a son that lives and works there at the mines.
..hell of a story...Winchester just didn't wanna pay royalties..as he'd been getting from FN since he first went to Belgium..
thank you for these cautionary tales.
Thank you for sharing!
Isnt that also the exact same action used for the 70 150 cartridge in the worlds largest lever action
well sir, thank you for these important lessons
...that's how I taught myself reloading in 1974 after I came home from the better part of 3 years in Germany...and on Rockchucker press also reading the Hornaday manual...I reloaded for my Smif 29..44 mag and spl...
I just stumbled on your channel... Fabulous stuff... THANKS
I would love to have a 50-110 1986.
I've got a westernfield in 243 it was made by Mossberg.
A 22-250 is a really good gun I've got a Howa in 22-250 and it shoots great.
I've got a few Browning guns I've got one auto 5 it was made in 1958 .
Kind of short on 1901 details. Just saying.
Just bought a 1901. Very clean. Just gotta buy some shells or load my own.😢
Sir, what is the name of the action on the 1886? Different from other lever actions that eject from the side. Thanks.
Cool looking place ya'll got there!!! Is that a model T huckster parked behind you?
Have you tried this for hunting yet yourself?
Nice 👍👍👍👍
Please do a demonstration on reloading primers with cap gun caps. I save alot of my primers in case one day I can learn how to reload them safely. Wonderful content sir
The terminator shotgun👍🗿
I just picked up a 1897 and I’m going this weekend to pick up an original 1887 😊
I'm restoring my reloading room and never feel like I have enough room for every thing. I can see you run into the same difficulties 🤣 We are probably about the same age so have about the same challenges,; though I am a bit more space challenged and arthritis challenged (mores the pity) but still functional with frequent breaks for sitting. Thanks for sharing lots of good ideas!
I am not an expert on guns, but aren't rolling blocks single shot?
You are correct - this is not a rolling block - misnamed by the content creator. John Browing designed the lever action at the request of his employers (Winchester) because they wanted to keep their theme of lever-action repeaters and he advised them that a pump was more appropriate for a shotgun...which he did for them a few years later. The "remington system" as rolling blocks were known then had nothing to do with this shotgun.
I was young, bought a300win mag my uncle had one and reloaded his, i bought IMR 4831 his manual was for Houghdon ,it wasn't good ,had to pry the bolt open
