Imagine the kind of man who creates a mechanism that does all of that in one smooth motion. He has to see it all happening in his mind before he cuts the first piece of steel.

This rifle can handle any load .357 you care to shoot. There's no 'concern' about the action linkage, because in the 'fire' position the lever causes the linkage to be nice and straight so that any recoil energy is transferred to the frame, which is the secondary reason they designed it so that it won't fire without the lever and linkages in the proper position.

Without searching for an answer to my questions, you answered them. One of those beautiful weapons is in my near future.

I have this in .45 long colt to go with my colt saa .45. I love both. Can't beat the old west. Nice video.

Very informative video, I will now follow the same maintenance procedure with my Uberti 44/40 1873s and .45 Colt 1860 Henry.

I've run 5 or 6 thousand rounds thru my '73 Uberti in Cowboy action matches over the past 5 years and just recently had to change out only the lever do to wear. What a great gun. Accurate and mostly trouble free.

Nice video, thanks! I know I'm late in the game but I just ordered my first Uberti. I got the US Marshal IT in .44mag, not in my hands yet but soon. I've been watching any and all video's on the 1873 and yours is one of the best. Detailed and well explained.

Just picked up the Uberti 1873 .357 Trapper because it was in the shop and I have been wanting a .357 lever gun since the 80's. I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle, not to mention the beauty of the American Walnut stock.

I like the close-ups and slow laid-back style.

A good explanation of the mechanism I think is one of the simplest and most robust mechanisms of a rifle. Angel from Spain

Personally I don't like the safety mechanism. I find all grip safeties distracting (Colt 1903 & 1911). I think I would shoot my uberti 1873 more often if I could remove that mechanism without causing any problems. I shoot my Henry and 1866 most of the time. I have collected Uberti lever guns in 44-40 and 45 LC. I prefer 44-40 because it is more accurate and the slightly necked case expands into the chamber to keep powder residue blow back to a minimum. I really enjoyed this video showing the guts inside. Much better than a schematic.

I almost wish my Henry had an 'action cover' like this. It would be nice to help in cleaning and lubricating it.
