I'm not a pilot but found this interesting. A lot of systems to precheck before even starting on the preflight. Wow!! Thanks for the insight. Looking forward to seeing more.
@@sahilsangwan8948 USA, at the time I made this comment I was in Cleveland, working for an airline that’s now shutdown. I’m no longer working on this fleet type, however bigger and better ones. I just Study initial maintenance training for ERJ 190, for myself, and tis video is excellent explanation about of starting with APU and GPU. Ver y good. Thank you so much
Yeah he forgot to turn EMER light after GPU connected. But on Boeing planes pilot do the fire warn procedure later during IRS aligning. Not sure if he should have done that during FLT CTL test
should you really be using the ptu this way? 175/190 checks before departure are at least 25 minutes, the hydraulics will get to temp on their own by then.
Questions: 1. Does the APU Gen get pressed (white light off) before or after the APU start? 2. Does the DC Pump have to be on? and then after engine start does it come off? Thanks.
The APU GEN pushbutton is normally kept pushed in before start thus the striped bar is off. The DC fuel pump control knob should be kept in AUTO . After APU starting the system automatically shuts off it once APU is feeding the main AC buses and then RH AC fuel pump Will feed the APU. To do that, the RH AC fuel pump control knob should be in AUTO also.
As the content creator said, the transfer is automatic. The only thing you have to do is push the GPU button out. It will still read “AVAIL” on the button.
APU needs to be started up before adding any other electrical devices, otherwise u will drain the batteries below 21 volts. Nav lights, beacon, inspection and airline insignia go on last...
@@L1011DFW the battery will *eventually* drain with electrical power on and without GPU, APU, or eng power. However, the position (nav) lights should be turned on whenever an aircraft is powered up, especially if hydraulics are on and flight controls are moving. It can be extremely hazardous to those on the ground outside the aircraft to not know when an aircraft is powered up. With light aircraft, the beacon light (or strobes if no beacon present) is used to warn people in the same manner. In all my years of flying, I've never once turned off a beacon light because I've always made sure to keep it on as a signal to others the the aircraft is powered up (and engine start may commence at any moment).
what pumps should be on when defueling, or cockpit fuel pumps switch configuration for defueling both tanks simultaneously to avoid fuel imbalance after defuel. Thanks
Depends, If you are defueling both tanks like you mention, no much you can do. The defuel truck will open the valves needed. You will run into fuel imbalance if the pressure fueling system is broken. if thats the case over the wing defuel takes place. But id you just transfering from tank to tank, just turn the opposite engine pump to help out with the transfer.
Im surprised the aircraft doesn't have something like a CMOS battery to keep track of the time. Unless 'm not understanding what I see on the clock screen w hich seems ot be showing the time since you connected GPU power :)
it shows Zulu time, local time, date and chrono. As for the battery there is an alarm that alert the crew that the batteries are draining (ground crew horn will sound)
can you charge the E170's BATT with the APU or do they need to be removed like a S-105 to get a full charge.... I kept getting a Low Volt light starting... mechanic told be it was nothing to worry about... removing the Battery and charging it seemed to solve the problem. I do not use it enough to keep the battery charged..... even though all the systems are off I still drain the battery to the point where I have to do a Manual start (which i might add is Incredibly Dangerous and No one should ever do this with even the smallest beach-craft)
Yo can recharge the batteries with APU. It will ussually take about 45 minutes to charge (depending on how low they are) The batteries get to a point to where it cannot not be recharge, anything less than 10v. So, replacing the batteries is your best option.
AV rated Battery's are How much??? and where in Alberta Do I get a new one? Reconditioned are good but they will only warranty them for a year. I have been renting but he gives me discounts if I do Maintenance. I spend too much time on the ground because of my Vertigo....
yes. but GPU will be disable due to power transfer from GPU to APU (APU has priority as main source of electrical power). but, if APU is broken GPU is use with ground air power
Autobrake isn’t really necessary. Having flown the 145 and now starting into this, you can simply step on the brakes and get as much effective stopping. For autobrake to work, you need weight on wheels and a speed over 60 knots for 3 seconds. The second you touch the toe brakes, they disengage anyway. I’d say they’re helpful on RTO mode, but landing numbers don’t have autobrakes factored, except you do get the runway distances through ACARS.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Now i can see how it works in my flight simulator(X-Plane with Embraer 175).
Same.
X-Plane 12 looks very realistic
Thank you very much, really helpful! If you can do others video about the E195 would be appreciated.
i do maintenance to Emb-170,190 and 145. It is so interesting your channel 😊

this cockpit is the baby of Airbus and Boeing. Airbus color theme, button layout, but with boeing yoke
Thanks, now I am able to steal an Embraer

Interesting video. Where's your accent from?

Thank you sir. Nice work.

should you really be using the ptu this way? 175/190 checks before departure are at least 25 minutes, the hydraulics will get to temp on their own by then.
This is only done by maintenance when acft needs to be relocated and no time to wait 25 min
