Solid State batteries appear to be exceedingly difficult to make. Ultimately, you have to be able to make cells cheaply and with a very long service life. Solid State batteries pose huge challenges in those areas. The leading battery manufacturers are making steady progress year on year, improving existing batteries to the point where the advantages of Solid State batteries are being eroded. By the time they come to market (if they ever do), they will probably just cost more but have the same characteristics.

Exactly. Companies like CATL are solving all the issues. No cobalt/Lithium. Dendrite growth. Cycle life. They are all being tackled really quickly.
