For those unaware this allows armies of your choosing to be put under AI control as and when its needed, Perfect for large fronts or huge nations. Especially if a lot of your time is spent micromanaging one particular army. I would love to see this feature return in ck3 but I am unable to see anything regarding it in the dev blogs.

It's already in CK2 though, isn't it? More specifically it's non agression pact that prohibits factioning, and marrying close relatives results in those non agression pacts.
@@HanakoSeishin yep that's been in CK2 at least since the Conclave DLC. Marrying your close relatives to your vassal's close relatives nets you a non-aggression pact and stops them from forming factions.
Let's hope it's not just the fixed amount of soldiers at a time that decide the dynasty head, because if it is it's going to jump like crazy during a war. "Hey, I now have 1 more soldier than you after that battle, I am the dynasty head. Oh no, I lost a few men and now my cousin has 3 more soldiers and he's the dynasty head" and so on.
@@jonathanrich9281 In 8th century games the Carolingian empire almost never breaks up at all, and in 9th century games the Karling princes just inherit each other's titles and blob back together. The tribal mechanics are much better at breaking up blobs, but I don't think those are suitable to this situation (the Carolingian empire didn't break up because ol' Chuck's sons lacked his force of personality). Basically Kingdom and Empire tier realms are immune to breaking up through inheritance in practice.
I mean, GOG has their latest games like Stellaris and Imperator Rome as well as the back catalogue, so I don't doubt they'll be releasing it there as well; it's just that Steam has insane brand loyalty and name recognition; but I guess the current/previous CKII does actually require Steam integration...

This could be used in non-ironman games to create cadet housesby temporarily giving and then removing the bastard trait from younger sons. They have to be alive and produce a child while having the trait, however, even though the new house will include children born prior to that

It looks like you guys took thee flavor of ck2, and the mechanics and systems of eu4, and put them together perfectly. just don't go wild on the dlc this time and this could be the best game
There is a mod called wanderer in ck2 its great you start as a low peasant baster with no land no job nothing and start your up to the ladder I hop they make one for ck3 I always like from zero to hero games
What I learned in CK2: Marry for love & fertility! Meaning, choose a spouse who has at least 50 opinion going both ways. And if after 2 years there isn't any news get a new spouse. Having 5 children results in a much bigger advantage than having only 1 or none at all with a couple with dislike between them. If 2 spouses like each other but after 2 years there is no child there is a problem with the fertility. I imagine it won't be much different in this one. If the house is big with a lot of branches you can choose according to dynastic advantages, but with a newly created ruler you need some safety in numbers. Otherwise your one kid will die of a flu and then your character gets himself murdered by their wife at the age of 40 due to attempts to get babies from a lover.
That was the start date in base CKII, but DLC (like The Old Gods (867), Charlemagne (769), and the (free patch) Iron Century (936)) added earlier start dates and IIRC Paradox stated they'd include some DLC stuff like playable Muslims in base CKIII, so this might be one of those things.
There are two start dates in ck3, 1066 and 867. There used to be more in ck2, but alot of them were a little broken. There will probably be more through patches and DLCs.

I hope dynasty designer comes in game at launch, I've only used custom dynasties my whole time playing CK2.
It won’t be in the game at launch but will come later as a future free update.

I don’t think it’s really meant to be used as full on tutorial. It’s mostly just a video introducing the features that Ck3 will allow you to do.
