[ tutorial ] Press windows key + X and open Terminal in admin mode execute the following command: takeown /f "C:\Program Files\Windowsapps" /r github.com/ambiennt/KeyPatcher 1.18.12 C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.18.1201.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe 1.17.11 C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.17.1101.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe
I'm not sure, but I recorded this video before 2b2tpe and 2b2e implemented an offline login system. so if you log into the server once on 1.20+ version, do /authentication or was it /offlinelogin, command in chat, then set the password, downgrade back to 1.18.2 and then try joining the server, you can do so with the password you had just set.
yes works for every version below 1.20. you'll only need to change the filepath that you input to the program. for 1.17.11 its: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.17.1101.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe
Enter this command (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.18.1201.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe) in the last keypatcher I get this error (Failed to open file for patching! This may have happened because: - The Minecraft executable is stored in an OS-protected folder (such as WindowsApps) and has not been unlocked - The Minecraft executable is currently in use - This program does not have the necessary permissions to write to the Minecraft executable Note that even with sufficient write permissions, applying modifications to appx files requires sideloading! Enter the full path for the Minecraft executable file OR its parent folder:) I did everything perfectly according to the order in the video, and the files are in the correct location, and there is no application that refers to MineCraft. What should I do?
did you have minecraft off at the time of doing it? and you are certain you're on the version 1.18.12? and opened both the command prompt and keypatcher as an administrator? apart from that I'm not sure what could be causing errors. if you cant get this to work, check the keypatcher github page. there's a workaround for using version switcher / launcher, that doesnt involve any command prompts or stuff since you aren't accessing a protected folder (windowsapps). I haven't tried it but have a try i suppose github.com/ambiennt/KeyPatcher/tree/0.1.0

1.18.12
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.18.1201.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe
1.17.11
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.17.1101.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.Windows.exe
i've done everything correctly but whenever i try to join a server it just loads infinitely until i get connection timed out.
Me too, did you solve it?
I am talking about 1.18.2, when I type what you say into the windows terminal and it says access is denied, how can I solve it?
