I believe what you say is true. The part about a good band sounding better live than in the studio. You know what band sounded great in the studio, but had notoriously less appeal live? Steely Dan. Or so I’ve heard from critics.
@@B3burner steely Dan was actually good live the problem with them was they used alot of effects you can only achieve in the studio through multiple tracks, you can't do that live, I'm a musician with a trained ear for stuff like that, and the average listener wouldn't really know that. Steely Dan took for advantage of the technology they had for the times, but when they played live they did good. I'm going by video footage, and stuff. I myself have never seen them live but I've heard negative stuff about them and looked it up, and that's all it is. They all played clean live, and on point.

Can we please appreciated what an incredible sound of that ride cymbal? Also, they sound better live than record.
They were a very sonically aware band. The guitar was also so simple and effective- great tones that were always musical.
