  • Our 2013 Jeep Wrangler JKU kept throwing ABS, traction control and hill descent warning lights. The following codes were pulled with Appcar DiagFCA:
    - C100A Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
    - C1011 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Erratic Performance
    - C1014 Left Front Wheel Speed Comparative Performance
Since that wheel sensor was changed the previous year, figured the culprit was likely the unit bearing / wheel bearing assembly.
This video would also resolve the same issue on the passenger side, if the following codes appear:
    - C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
    - C101C Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Erratic Performance
    - C101F Right Front Wheel Speed Comparative Performance
    00:00 Introduction & Error Codes
    00:38 Component Location
01:30 Unplug Wheel Sensor from Harness
02:10 Remove Brakes & Axle Nut
    03:23 Remove the 13mm 12 Point Bolts
    04:59 Remove Unit Bearing
06:23 Old Bearing Out, Install New
    07:48 Bolt Torqueing
    09:03 Routing Sensor Wire
    09:34 Test Drive

Just got a c1015 on my 108k mile 2012 JK this morning. I'll start with the sensor, then if it comes back I'll do both hubs. Really great video, the split screen sections are awesome and the lighting is spot on to see everything.
    Many thanks!

Great video,.. I have the same issue but on the right side,.. I changed the sensor BUt the code and the lights are still on!!... I hate to say it but DAMM changing the that part is going to be a pain in the rear!!... any other issue beside that changing the bearings???

Thanks! With a different Jeep, had one of the unit bearing bolts (with the 13mm 12 point head) snap as I was unbolting it. The bolt cavity in the knuckle was full of crud and something jammed up.
Someone I know had a spare bolt, but for a D30 axle with smaller U-Joints. A bit of time to grind off the extra metal and success!
      Good luck with yours.

I’m doing my right sensor this weekend. 2017. 113,000 miles. Hopefully not wheel bearing.

Good luck. I’ve had issues getting the sensor out of the unit bearing in one piece due to winter salt.

How many kilometers on the jeep? I'm starting to see a similar error I sadly didn't have an ABS capable reader so that's my next purchase.

It had over 200,000kms. Our other Wrangler is also over that mileage and needs front hub bearings (got the parts this week).

I forget which I had here, but I’ve converted all my power tools to Milwaukee. I really like the M12 Fuel Stubby (crazy compact power with the right battery), the M12 Fuel right angle impact, M18 Fuel Mid torque, M18 Fuel high torque with One Key. All are 1/2” since my impact sockets are all 1/2”.
If I had to live with only one, I’d get the M18 Fuel mid torque.

Jeeps are the victim of shoddy design and workmanship. Its amazing how many problems a low mile Jeep often has. Planned Obsolescence. I have a 2018 Jeep. But i consider it junk compared to my Sienna with 300K miles on it. Toyota is still king.
