  • In this episode I get the wipers working again in my 1956 Ford F100. I ended up replacing the motor, switch and installing new universal style arms. I also modified the arms to use modern J-Hook style beam wiper blades.

Really appreciate that. I just found you going through this complete restoration.
I just bought a 56 Ford. It was restored about 10 years ago.
And I'm going to be doing a lot more upgrades to it
I don't think there's a way I can send you a picture red but thank you

Good info. I wonder of Mid-Fifty just made an improved transmission over the stock one? Mine are still the original ones, so will have to take a look at them a little closer, one day.

Your new wiper motor the fulcrum that goes 360 degrees is shorter then your original one and arm that goes through your cab that arm is longer and it's throwing your sweep longer that's what's throw in it off 1/16 or 2 when linked throws your blade off almost an inch of travel distance 57 58 and 59 Ford parts also work you had the correct original wiper arms except for the driver side with the dogleg in it it's supposed to be straight I went to an 18-inch I think wiper blade where it's three pieces took the two outside pieces off turn them around put them back on you'll see the outside pieces or offset and cut the wiper blade down to fit it he recently I got and hold of Sacramento vintage Ford and got them right off the counter I tried the Dual wiper wiper blades I think they call him snow blades the motor doesn't have enough power to pull them

My truck came with inside tailgate latches and they removed the chains. I really want to restore them. I see online I can buy a chain kit but I'm a little confused on the tailgate itself. It looks like they grind it off the high volt do you have any" of that or how to turn up the tailgate?

I took the gear off of the wiper motor that you didn't take off and I strip the gear out of the wiper motor it's a thing composite plastic fiber looking thing I need the gear out of the inside of it can undo the end of the motor you can rotate the brushes in speed up or slow down the motor rotation
