Thanks Div, I never thought of a universal motor. My 39 chevy was missing everything and I thought to try something from a salvage yard. I will only have a windshield so I will need wipers just incase
@@TheFrameoff it can get up to around 35 - 38 degrees C where I am. And pretty high humidity. Just across the mountain near me, it is regularly in the mid 40's

Very cool , love it coming down from the top ! My old 49 Chevy truck had vacuum activated wipers . Didn't work very well. Yours will be much better. Your donor wiper arm looks suspiciously like a mid 70' Ford truck. I have had trouble finding blades for mine. One step closer to getting on the road man !!!!!!!!!
Neat, thanks for sharing I’m building a 1947 ford coupe rat rod myself. I watch several videos to get tips off everyone. I see you are a great metal fabricator. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks again.
good fix Div, I purchaced some new chrome wipers and wiper blades officially for a Citroen Mehari at Burton here in NL to fit my Reliant Robin. but You can also look for a boat parts dealer with Allpa or Roca boat parts which surely must be in Mosselbaai. they use the same universal wiper-motors and small wipers on speedboats and small fishing boats. I was considering some "Allpa boat seats for my Reliant Robin, but not just yet. 👍
Duff very nice job. Hopefully they pass. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
Hey div Try a rear window wiper off a small SUV or Hatch back Mitsubishi Challenger wagon has a small rear arm and blade about 8" or 200 mm and you can nip the blade or a wiper off an old Mini Minor they are about 6" - 150 mm

All the things you have to do to be street legal. Looking good so far. I’m real curious to see the final wiper. Is that motor rated for monkey shit?! 😂😂😂 👍🏻👍🏻!!!!
Plan to use the truck as a parts hauler and will most likely need wipers often. Rains a lot here. Dont feel like struggling😅 If it was mostly a show car, different story
Just a little fab work and it's done.so you had to have your glass cut.? There's a place here in California it's called brother's trucks if you ever need hard to find parts and hardware you can go online and order a free catalog.they stock OEM parts. It's more for the custom builds you pay for shipping and your set.
Wipers are over rated Duff! 😂 you should get two pieces of twine and install two pulleys. Tie the twine on either side! 😂😂😂 manual wipers….👍 just messing with you Duff. Always enjoy your content. Have a safe and super weekend young man. 👍🇺🇸🙏
Duff you can see clearly now! “Happy trails “
Awesome !!!! Genius !!!! That's old school for sure !!!! Hope yall have a lekka day as well !!!!

She'll run, but not so sure about burning tires with that little four banger she has!😅
@@ratrodsafrica Lol, 😂😂😂👊
Thanks for showing me that 64 years old and never knew about that wiper motor Wonder why more builders don’t use them ? Loud maybe? Makes you wonder.
Actually not loud at all. To me at least...😅
Cool , you putting in glass , or another product . yep going to be a sweet ride when it hits the road ... Build On
Glass! Plastic (Perspex, Lexan, whatever) is just a pain!

Great little wiper project
Hi , Im loving your work. 😀I forgot to say the travel montage from your trip to town really looks very similar to NZ bro!
Thanks brother! I think there are many similarities between my part of SA an NZ😄
I put a Hand Wiper in my 1936 Chevy. Rain X Works good .
😂 I didnt feel like the hassle! We often get rain and want to use the truck as a parts hauler

Yes, it will do the trick. Thanks Donald
Truck sure is nice, 👍
Around here I think they sell those wiper motors for boat windshields. Very creative.
Yes, that's true, now that you mention it.
nice job i know on my 1956 dodge it was a pain setting up the wiper linkage.
Yes, been there! Another reason for this easy way out😅
If you have them in South Africa. The peterbuilt 359 used a short wiper
Thanks but we dont have those magnificent machines here! Think the wiper from a Land Rover will work, they only around 11" long
Diff you are a very creative man!
Genius idea man.
Thanks brother!

Very lekka Div. Been watching your channel for a few months now from Joburg. Very informative and entertaining. Thank you.
Hey, lekka Joeys! Thanks boet.
Looking good 👍👍🏴☠️
Thanks pirate 😂
Looks good. I have that same motor so this was a good learning experience. From the dry banks of the Underwood Branch, thanks for the fun.
Happy if it helps man
Nice idea using that type of wiper motor. It saves you a lot of hassle:-)
A LOT of hassle!😅
Hmm 🤔 that's a good idea you have. I want to see how you cut it to fit.
Thanks. When I get the wiper blade, I'll make it fit
good job Diff very informative also boats also have small wipers motors also small wipers to fit keep up the good work
Problem is, as soon as you call it boat, the price doubles!😂
look at this add on ebay ( Universal UTV Electric Windshield Wiper Motor Kit Assembly with Spray Bottle for )
Hi Neat, kindly explain the process of shortening the wiper blade. Thanks in advance
I bought wiper blades closest length to what I wanted, then simply cut short pieces off with a grinder and cutting disc. Carefully 😃
Thanks again Diff.
Looking great 👍
What’s the last thing that goes through a bugs mind when it hits the windscreen?
It’s arse. lol 😂

Hey div Try a rear window wiper off a small SUV or Hatch back
Mitsubishi Challenger wagon has a small rear arm and blade about 8" or 200 mm and you can nip the blade or a wiper off an old Mini Minor they are about 6" - 150 mm
Good suggestion, thanks! Need around 11". Will go see what I can find
Oom try n beetle se blade , hulle het mos n klein venstertjie
Vorder mooi!
Dit kan dalk werk. Of Land Rover, ou een.
There are a few cars that had wipers for the headlights. Those are probably too small. My Veloster has a very short 8 inch wiper blade on the back.
Thats true! I need something around 11 inches. I'm thinking Land Rover, series 2 or 3.
Good Man 👍👍
Thanks ✌
interesting
Maybe look for a old MG or triumph sports car wiper arms there pretty short fiat torpolino or 500 a possibility.
Cool! Yes, you right. Think I can make that arm work with the blade from a Land Rover. They also very short.
I want to buy it...
What do you want to buy, the truck, or the wiper motor?
Do you have a video of these working. I’m looking to putting some on a 42 gmc
This is the only video I have on the wiper motor
WHats the Mini1275 or 1100 arm dimensions... it's an option to look into
Could be! Also think Series 2 and 3 Land Rover can work.
👍👊
👍👍😆
Do you need a wiper if you don’t put in the glass? No serious.. would a wiper blade from the back window of a suv hatch work
Good idea! I'll see what I can find at the parts store. Thanks
what is the length of the wiper shaft? i have a '53 chevy truck.
I cant quite remember, but it is quite long. Maybe 4" or more. I had to cut mine shorter.
👍🏻🍺
