    Use the 4 stop built in ND filter to use f2 at normal shutter speeds

    Thanks for sharing. Would you do a video later on showing all the accessories you use with this camera? Thanks in advance 😉

    Great Video! I am waiting on my pre-order, but i have an XT-5 and yes, the autofocus is definitely not as good as my Sony. Do, however make sure that you put the camera in “boost” mode (it is not on by default out of the box). This will drain battery faster (not badly though in my experience), but it does allow the camera to use the full functionality of the autofocus system. The autofocus is definitely hindered when turned off.

      Great tip. I’m gonna try the boost mode this week.

    I'm a small female so the camera fits my hands perfectly. (Helps make up for the rest of the world being made to fit 6' tall people.) What makes me crazy about Fuji is that if you change one thing on the menu, half a dozen other items will gray out. I've never been able to find a chart that says, If this is changed, this will stop functioning.

      @movetomirrorless  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      agreed... same experience here... I think I have the hang of it now. it really takes a bit of trial and error, menu diving, and shooting with it A LOT.

      Thanks for sharing experience with Fuji menu. The excellent video alluded to Fuji menu being complex, worse than Sony. That's also one of my complaints about my Sony cameras. When one setting is changed, it may trigger a cascade of changes that I did not anticipate. I guess it has to do with all the features that are built into these cameras. Glad that I'm warned ahead of time before getting my hands on a X100VI.

    I got this camera and still learning on it but as I'm Sony user I shocked from AF there's big gap between Fuji & Sony for that !!

      The lens motors are the main limiting factor (not saying that other recent Fuji models reach Sony´s AF, but they´re much better than the X100, provided you use the latest Fuji lenses with linear motors).

      If Sony can deliver a camera like the x100vi even if it’s crop sensor for under $2000 with beautiful retro aesthetics then they’d have a big hit. Maybe they can have a full frame big brother a La the rx1 but with the same retro styling and no higher than $3000 then that would be a bonus.

    Really enjoyed the video. Especially appreciate the perspective from a Sony shooter. I recently added Sony A7Cii to my Sony system. It's quite compact without a lens even when compared to the X100VI. Wondering what is the magic about X100VI that makes it a different experience from another small camera such as A7C or RX1? Maybe its the combination of all the elements including size, styling, material, JPEG color, controls and displays? Maybe another video about all the elements that's unique to X100VI from the perspective of a Sony shooter?

    • @movetomirrorless
      @movetomirrorless  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thanks for the comment... the a7cii looks really good too. When I think about your question regarding what makes the x100vi so special... my quick take on it is that it's the special combo of everything, all for under $2000... it's really hard to find a camera that gives you the combination of image quality, 40 mp, IBIS, hybrid viewfinder, good enough lens that is tiny as well, great JPEGs, compact size, built-in flash and ND, a super quiet leaf shutter, and on top of that, it looks awesome! PLUS, you don't really need any accessories, you can leave it as is and it just works.

      @@movetomirrorless Thanks for the reply! I was considering Fuji X-S10 with the 27mm pancake lens as a cheaper alternative for street and family photography. I find many of the Fuji camera designs to be quite attractive including the X-S10. The problem is that combo is quite close in price to X100VI especially considering the 27mm lens is a f2.8 and the sensor is not the new one with the high resolution not to mention all the other features you mentioned. In some ways X100Vi is rather reasonably priced. Looking forward to more insights into X100VI and photography from your videos.

    I’m wondering. Can you use any brand flash, e.g. a Sony as the off camera flash and have it triggered b6 the X3? Or do you also need a Godox flash as your off camera flash? Thank you. Great videos you make.

    You're not going to believe this, but the newest Fujifilm app and wireless connection system is a massive improvement over previous versions. You would have pulled out your beard along with your hair.

      lol.... well, I'm glad there's progress. :) seriously though, if they were to just improve the app to where it's stable and reliable. the user experience would be sooooo good on this camera.

    Is it good for taking talking head videos?
    If I have 2 extra batteries?
    Considering the fact that a lot of quality B-roll footage can be captured taking an advantage of the 6k 30fps 40mp.

    the A up top on that large dial doesn't mean automatic... it stands for Aperture Priority...

    • @movetomirrorless
      @movetomirrorless  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You sure about that? If that’s the case why is there an A on the ISO dial?

    • @movetomirrorless
      @movetomirrorless  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for mentioning the. So I just looked it up on the manual page 74. It says to out the camera on aperture priority, set your desired aperture on the aperture Irving and then set the shutter speed to “A” for auto.

    • @a.b.c.d.e
      @a.b.c.d.e 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      no, on the X100s the "A"s all stand for automatic, and setting shutter speed to "A" while selecting a specific aperture just happens to cause 'A'perture Priority. Setting both aperture and shutter to "A" goes to full auto, and setting ISO to "A" puts ISO into the full auto mix, too.

    • @hdm-nm
      @hdm-nm 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The A means automatic but only for the dial it's on. All three controls (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) have the A.
