U.A.A.P. in general is a yearly (before the pandemic) sports competition for big universities and schools in the country. It includes basketball, cheerdance, volleyball, etc.
One thing that I just realized is that the Philippines both celebrate/observe Dia De Los Muertos (on every November 2nd) and Dia De Los Santos (on every November 1st)
OMG I LOVE THE MOVIE COCO! Similar to Mexico's Dia De Los Muertos, Filipinos also visit the gravesite of loved ones at night to pay their respects, pray, sometimes eat, or play games next to their deceased loved ones. The cemeteries would be crowded all day and night. Also, get well Waleska. Drink lots honey lemon tea. It'll soothe your throat a bit.

In the Philippines we have a celebration in every Nov. 1 called ARAW NG MGA PATAY or DUA DE LOS MUERTOS because of Mexico Vice Royalty of Spain Colonize the Philippines 🇵🇭. So we kinda can use that concept because how mexico celebrate Dia Delos Muertos is literally similar to how we Filipinos celebrate it.

You should see " nu pep squad 2017 uaap" thats the season they lost and on that season they were coming up for 5-peat (5years consecutive years) but they failed because of a lot of stunt mistakes.
This competition, is just school competition for every famous University in Manila every year for their grade. They're all performing before the university basketball/volleyball league finals start. If I'm not mistaken.😅 Most of the crowds are the students in every University. Maroon is the color of NU. Yellow for UST. Blue for ADMU. Green for De LaSalle and ETC. Their monickers/nicknames I guess. Ateneo/ADMU "Ateneo Blue Eagles. (Blue)" NU "National University Bulldogs. (Maroon)" UST "UST Growling Tigers. (Yellow)" LaSalle " De La Salle Stallion. (Green.) ETC. Hope this helps.

I used to have a performing arts scholarship in the Philippines . We trained 6 hours a day 6 days a week. 5 hours if that is training and conditioning. And only 1 hour is choreography rehearsals. I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys are the same.

It is kind of weird we don't do something like the ofrenda considering how it's something Asians do and that it's basically the same as pre-Hispanic practices with the anito/nuno stuff. The Philippines may also have deeper ties to Mexico because the Philippines was administered from Mexico and a lot of what we think is the influence of Spain is actually by way of Mexico. And the cultural exchange wasn't one-way. For example, I read that Filipinos who migrated to Mexico shared their tuba making techniques and it was applied to a local plant giving the world tequila. It is a little appropriative because we do have our own traditions surrounding it but I think it's meant to be appreciation of something in their culture we can relate heavily to.
Salabat drink(boiled ginger with honey or sugar) is good for sore throat or no voice at all. Most Singers in the Philippines drink this before performing on stage.
In the philipinnes, the format of competition is cheerdance. Not usual to the western which is cheerleading. In the philippines of the total score 50% is dance and 50% is cheerlead
