@@seraphinefontana3058 It is beyond good. It is so extremely powerful and emotional, especially considering the story behind it. Hugh Jackman was on doctor's orders not to sing but the emotion of the moment took over.
My favorite moment is this video is when Keala turns around after the first verse and the male soloist. the transformation in her energy from when she first came out from behind the stand is incredible
This workshop was a moment in time that has become so legendary. The emotion, the magic that was in that room that day could be felt through video. If Keala never does a single thing again in her life she will ALWAYS be remembered for this role. " This is Me " has become an ANTHEM to so many people throughout the world. This song saved me. I am disabled both mentally and physically but this song reached out and just absolutely smacked me like a fright train.
How can anyone not feel the emotion in the room, in everyone in the room, and Hugh when she's holding his hands, it looks like Hugh is about to tear up. She really brings the soulful emotion to the song that interprets the song so well.
This isn’t a rehearsal, it was a showcase for potential investors trying to raise the money to make the movie. The other video with Hugh Jackman doing “From Now On” is even better in my opinion. Also, the level of talent beyond Hugh and Keala in that room is insane. Pasek and Paul, Cynthia Erivo, Jeremy Jordan, Carrie Manolakos, Andrew Keenan-Bolger. All Broadway stars and I’m sure I’m leaving people out.
Oh I’m so glad you’re doing this, she was so powerful here and yes a little pitchy but with the emotion it was going to happen like you said emotions can choke the voice. This is a beautiful rendition of this song.
Her singing has told a lot of people’s stories. A lot of people feel like they are not fitting in. It feels like she is telling doesn’t matter who you are, just be yourself. This is what i feel like what she wants to tell people. I love that song. It is so beautiful.
I cry every time I see this video. I can feel her emotions. She has heard all of the negativity and that pain is real. Also, I’m quarantined so I’m more than a little emotional. Stay safe everyone
This is one of my favourite songs and this particular version is actually my favourite version because it shows Keala's real emotions. The movie version is powerful but this one may be more so because we are better able to identify with her emotions that she is sharing so vividly in it.
This song has become my anthem. I’ve been told by many people that I’m useless, worthless and I would never make much of myself. I’m almost 28 and I’m about to graduate in 2 fields that are heavily male dominated, so as a female I’m in for a fight
I’m SO glad you did this one instead of the one from the movie itself. At this point she hadn’t even been cast for this role. There is so much more emotion here than in the movie. I want to second another commentator’s request and ask you to react to Hugh Jackman’s song from this same workshop. And another request: please react to any of Avi Kaplan’s new music. In addition to the official videos (and in one case he has an audio only official release then later a video. He has also released some of his music recorded in his home that are spectacular. Please?!
Poor Jeremy Jordan. He was the stand in for Hugh (sitting two down from him) and was sick as well. He is amazing! Please react to him if you haven't already!
I think that what made this so emotional is that even though Keala was in the role she meant every single word personally when she sang. I hope you get my point.🤩
I am able to sing a tiny bit like how she can and I was very sad one day and I started belting this song out. My mom was recording and she put it on facebook and I got so many positive messages. Since then this has been my favorite song.
I absolutely LOVE all of these behind the scenes green light clips for this movie!! My favorite has to be the "From Now On" with Hugh. Such POWER in those voices! 💖💖💖
Keala is so inspiring. She has such a powerful and soulful voice, and the way she uses it is just so breathtaking. The sheer emotion of her singing is incredible and has certainly made me cry on more than one occasion. I would say that that's the kind of singer I want to be, but my voice is generally very different from that. As a leggero tenor, I feel like I would probably end up damaging my vocal cords if I ever tried belting like that
Thank you for reactive to this. So much joy is in the clip. Keala was clearly very nervous, and the young man who's name escapes me but I know he is a very successful broadway star himself, who gave her sooo so much with his lines, that encourages her to conquer, when she turns around its like she is a different person and I love that. The energy in that room must of been amazing beyond belief..
You should react to Little mix's cover of Love on the brain and also their Paper Penthouse performance. They honestly have some of the best live vocals I've heard in ages.
I love The Greatest Showman, Keala, and "The Is Me"! Tara, your kind and positive words at the end of this video, talking about how emotional this song is actually made me tear up! The first time I watched The Greatest Showman and saw the movie clip of this song, I cried because it was so beautiful, but getting to see her performance in this was just so heart-warming and powerful. Then hearing you elegantly put into words this experience was so touching as well. Thank you again for being a beautiful, amazing person and great vocal coach! Looking forward to your next vid!
When I first saw and heard very goosebumps. You need to see Hugh Jackson singing after he was told not too. He just couldn't help himself and it too was amazing
Wow! I am sitting here listening to the music and the tears came bursting all of a sudden while I still can´t stop smiling because of the emotion, the energy the singing and the feeling in that song and in the room. So amazing!
All I have to say is that we live in a beautiful time.... despite Rona's appearance..... humanity is ONE and it's about time that we all realize that! Be you unapologetically bc there's not another YOU 🌏💜🙏🏼
can you please react to Idina Menzel singing “Always Starting Over” at the 2014 tonys. it is a song from a musical she did in 2014 called IF/THEN. the song is very powerful and her voice is AMAZING in this performance. she holds the last note for close to 15 sec. if you could react to this it would be amazing. thank you
You should react the video of Hugh Jackman doing "from now on" it's from this same day!! He got very spiritual and emotional during it because he had found out he had cancer and was told not to sing, but did it anyways :D it's amazing ♥♥♥♥♥
Definitely anthemic for all of us "less thans" in the world. It's the raw emotion and, as you said, it seems to be her story so the feelings are amazingly real and bless her for being brave. It's difficult to be vulnerable especially in a "professional" setting where the stakes are high.
another good example of the "tongue in front of the bottom teeth" trick is Ben Platt's performance of Somewhere at the Grammys. i would LOVE to hear what you think of his voice. LOVE YOU TARA
This is one of my favorite videos!! I watch it repeatedly bc I love how raw her emotion is and the atmosphere in the room is electrifying. Love that you reacted to this!!
Would have been here sooner but was on a conference call for work. I love this performance so much because it was so raw and even though the nerves were real, it gave a wonderful build up
Hi Tara - When you said how special to be in that room, I'm totally on board. The musical energy in that room is beyond anything I've ever seen or experienced. Being there would have made my life so much richer.
It's the most fantastic proformance ever...I love that song SO SO much and Keala is everything...I know her struggle, as it's mine to..mayby not identicle, but I feel everything she shows and her and this song is SO theraputic to me...
Fun Fact: when she was sing the reason she started to cry we because she was bullied when she was younger for being her size and she related to the song so much she started to cry.
I love watching this session as it feels like pure magic coming through the screen. Gives me chills everytime I see it. Hugh singing 'from now on' was also incredible.
Keala did a amazing job! I love her. And you should react to Now United. They're awesome. They sing AND dance at the same time, it's beautiful. There's a lot of live shows that you can react. 😉❤

Of*
But ur right
@@Vbear_OT7. Normally I catch mistakes like that, thanks!😅
@@Vbear_OT7.You corrected “of”, but then wrote “ur”? Pure idiocy.
you should also do Hugh Jackman "From Now On" It's from the same session as this one.

This one of those songs where the soloist and backup singers feed off each others energy in a glorious loop.
YES. I've watched other live performances of this song and they don't come close to the emotion and power of this one.

I know what you mean, Dean. The perfect song for those of us who feel we don’t ‘fit in’ with society. It’s empowering.
How can anyone not feel the emotion in the room, in everyone in the room, and Hugh when she's holding his hands, it looks like Hugh is about to tear up. She really brings the soulful emotion to the song that interprets the song so well.
Phil Shields 101 I think he did, he let out a grunt like he was about to
He did
I completely agree with that statement
Do a react video to Hugh Jackman “From Now On”

Oh, I hope she reacts to that one also. They are both so heartwarming and great performances. Agreed, there are so many talented singers in that room.
Have to do From now on from this same session....will take ya to CHURCH!
Yeah there is also Natalie Weiss 👌🏻
Omg is Cynthia the one with the colored hair? I always thought that was a man lmao Can't believe I couldn't recognize her.
Indeed. From Now On was much more magnificent (not saying that this one isn't)
It's nice that she finally reacted to this tho
Omg, did somebody noticed the piano guy? I absolutely love him. Of course Keala and everyone else is amazing as well ❤️
Yes!!
I think he’s one of the writers of this song :)
@@sofiaguerrero0969 is he? Wow, absolutely amazing.

She was so brave for playing that role and she killed it!!🤩

I think that what made this so emotional is that even though Keala was in the role she meant every single word personally when she sang. I hope you get my point.🤩
The Greatest showman soundtrack is one of the best ever.
Best since grease from 1978. Especially in the UK both were on top of the charts!!
Yes! Soon after it came out I listened to it every day for like 2 months!
I still listen to it whenever I need a pick up or inspiration to keep on going. The music lives outside the movie.
Jill Anderson I listen to it in my car all the time. Me and my daughter do the “other side” on karaoke ❤️ It’s such a fun soundtrack!
