This song in the movie everyone was on their feet stomping and singing along, clapping to the beat, but this version, I would have KILLED to be in that room!!
@@ilsukdyang8134 hahaha. Tbh his doctor probably already would've guessed he'd do something like that! All he'd have to do tho is show this performance and his doc would be like okay, I get it lol
This was probably the worst song for him to try to sing from the whole score: that belting at the top of his range really strains the sinus cavity (which seems like where he had all the stitches). If he had done a ballad where he could switch to falsetto, he probably would have been fine.
I feel he was so overcome by the emotion of this song because its rather like his own life. He started on stage, for the entertainment of the crowd and then got famous and lost sight of what started it all. This song literally recounts that, you can see he gets emotional right at "because it lead me back to you" (the stage, broadway-esque performance) and he cant physically stop himself as hes overcome with it.
You can feel level of commitment and dedication the performers had already for the show. The passion. They believed in it from the depths of their souls. That’s how you know you have the right people in the room.
And poor Hugh had to go back into surgery & have the stitches replaced. His doctor wasn’t pleased, but it got the movie made & we have both the movie & this wonderful video! Love Hugh! Glad you watched this one too.
You should watch Jeremy Jordans comedic recount of his standing in for Hugh Jackman, "The day I saved The Greatest Showman". It's super funny and there is singing in it too.
Agreed, it ie wonderful! I have seen Jeremy preform live 3 timesI New York, including this performance and his voice is so powerful it fills the room. He is amazing and my favorite performer, would love reaction to any thing from him! Thanks Travis, love you and your reactions! 🤗❤️
I am shocked the floor didn't collapse under them and the windows busted out. Seriously. I would kill for them to do a full on live performance of this song together.
Wow, I love Hugh Jackman! This song is really emotional! He's such a complete artist, he does everything so good and he always puts so much effort, dedication and feeling. Thanks for your react!
I knew you would love this. I saw the look on your face when Hugh's nose started bleeding. The first time I watched this it was at that point that I started balling. That level of dedication hit hard.
This really is such a powerful video on so many levels. It takes you on a ride and drops you off. Hugh Jackman is a force for good and he lights the fuse. Spectacular. I get emotional every time I see it. Thanks for reviewing it Travis!
“I’m sure there are other talented people that I don’t know about” Natalie Weiss! She’s a vocal coach, known from the Breaking Down The Riffs series on TH-cam!
Such an incredible moment you can feel the spirit of the Lord in that room!!! When Keala comes in belting it really makes me cry. She was singing from her heart, they all were!!!
the emotions are so palpable in this one that they just jump through the screen, especially coming from Hugh. I, like you, could tell that he wanted to sing so badly that he literally could not help himself. Jeremy knew it too, which is why he smiled haha he's a true musician and if anyone ever doubted it before, it's proven in this video. when you realize that he popped the stitches in his nose and then still continued to sing, how can you not admire him even more?! once again, the energy in the room seemed so electric and I would do anything to have been there! great reaction once again Travis ❤️
I’ve watched many of these videos of this song but this one made me smile the most just watching the sheer elation on your face. Great great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻
I enjoy reaction videos because listening, looking at a performance through someone else's ears and eyes always enlightens me. ODDLY, i just posted this same behind the scenes on my wall a few days ago (followed by This Is Me) because this version is my favorite version! How fortuitous your video popped up in front of my eyes :)
this video and the greenlight of this is me are the two videos i think of whenever someone talks about the power that music has, it is so all encompassing
wooooow! beautiful. I love Hugh beautifull voice and charisma which is rising out from his soul. And it is umbelievable combinnation. And I love watching you how you react, because when I listen to the music I am most of the time alone and it is great to share the energy with someone. You are doing a great job!!!
Thanks so much, powerful stuff. Always loved Hugh Jackman. Scary that this is the second or third time he's had cancer removed from the nose area. Thank goodness for his wife, she found it the first time.
Part of living in Australia 🐨. Very high incidence of skin carcinomas and God forbid melanomas. Im 51 and have already had a BCC, basal cell carcinoma, cut out the side of my face. Hell of a lot more than 80 stitches🤪! Have more spots and small sores to be sorted out yet 😱! Blessings 💗
Had me in tears the first time I heard this and the fact Hugh had 80 stitches in his nose yet told his doc to GTF & had to sing this anthem !!! The Kerala Settle This Is Me broke me and it was a song that really really hot home for me… love love love the film and every track too
This was the anthem at my daughter's wedding 2 years ago and I still am amazed at Hugh's dedication for singing this song while recovering from surgery. Brings tears to my eyes and happy memories to me every time I hear it :)
I am so happy you finally got to watch this green lit version, after seeing you react to Keala Settle's green lit, This Is Me, I looked forward to you reacting to this. Thank you for the wonderful reaction.
I know it’s several years later, but nobody mentioned that there was another pretty famous singer in that ensemble. Each time the camera pans to the right. The young lady in the ensemble, with the curly hair in the front row, wearing black and burgundy is Loren Allred, the singer of Never Enough. By the way, she just sang a new version of Never Enough on AGT Fantasy League in January. Mind blowing. You’ve never reacted to her, so this might be a good time to start.
I'm with you on this movie. I saw it 5 time in theaters as well and this performance, and all the pressure riding on this presentation, was insane. Can you imagine the energy in that room?! I've seen this a lot of times. It's so good. Fun reaction. My first time to your channel. New sub!
I did not see this movie until last year and I'm kicking myself that I waited so long!! Now I play the soundtrack every chance I get and the same for the movie. My husband will say "You're watching it AGAIN?" LOL
Jeremy Jordan was originally cast in the role that Zac Efron starred in. Sometimes directors will see that an actor is simply not right for the role. Read: The original actor in Back to the Future was NOT Micheal J. Fox. It was Eric Stolz.
Hugh basically turned into a hellfire and brimstone southern preacher here. I'm not even Christian but this whole soundtrack is like a religious experience. ❤
You are definitely my new fave, I don’t know any other TH-cam reaction channel that legitimately mimics my own reactions!! Now if you just become obsessed with Sara Bareilles, we’ll be totally on the same page. lol
Cynthia Erivo provided the astounding ad libs. She is the black woman on the stand with the blonde hair. She does nothing without putting her heart and soul into it.
I'm not a musical theater guy but that was just amazing! One of my favorite videos and the movie was just outstanding.....if you can get past the historical rewrite making him into a wonderful person.....
I really enjoy your reactions ❤ and I don't know if you are looking for something new to listen to but if you are, I recommend a band called Why Don't We ❤ they are my favourite and I would love to see your reaction to them and see what you think 😊
Bless you Travis....This is Australia's favorite son. Hugh is the real deal...so down to earth. He starred in the movie of Les Mis if you've never seen it I highly recommend it. In the early scenes I hardly recognised him as he had lost so much weight for this. But the raw emotion of his performance is nothing like I've seen before. Don't know if you want to 'react' or not but please check out the link th-cam.com/video/pJx1pRCey78/w-d-xo.html
These stars are sometimes only hired to just work on te development of the musical.. . They just perform for the workshop not necessarily going on to star in the actual final product..... You definitely need to see Jeremy Jordan vid about his telling the story of that moment in the workshop.... and hear him finish the song... there are several Jeremy Jordan vid you should react too... he even was part of a all male broadway backwards cell block tango
I know I've said this before but I'm gonna repeat myself you need to watch Jeremy's "The Day I Saved The Greatest Showman" it sheds a whole new light on the situation and helps you see his side of the story it' makes me feel so bad for him tbh
And people say magic isnt real? What happened in that room that day WAS NOTHING SHORT OF MAGIC.
I tear up every single time. I love this movie.
One of my favs !
When you realize that 6:30-6:50 - Hugh is singing at top volume and is absolutely drowned out by the chorus!!! They were carried by the energy!!
This song in the movie everyone was on their feet stomping and singing along, clapping to the beat, but this version, I would have KILLED to be in that room!!
ME too ! I always said that after watching it again, and again.
So true, that was a religious experience!!
The scene in the movie was excellent, but something happened in that room that doesn't happen very often and that performance went well beyond.
Me too Hannah Hester
YES!
If they ever do a Broadway version of this show, I want all the people in this room performing it.
Yep
Hugh's stiches broke and his nose was bleeding during this performance! That's dedication!
Wow!
@@lisabaker4255
I can just imagine Hugh going back to his doctor and saying, "Remember when you told me not sing..."
@@ilsukdyang8134 hahaha. Tbh his doctor probably already would've guessed he'd do something like that! All he'd have to do tho is show this performance and his doc would be like okay, I get it lol
That helped it get greenlit. He's bankable and this was his 9 yr. Project. Was a good move. He couldn't help it. Worth it.
This was probably the worst song for him to try to sing from the whole score: that belting at the top of his range really strains the sinus cavity (which seems like where he had all the stitches). If he had done a ballad where he could switch to falsetto, he probably would have been fine.
Keala and Cinthya in 7:00 thats G#5 are crazy

Hugh's stitches burst here in this song which is why he keeps touching his nose as blood was running down it.
You should watch Jeremy Jordans comedic recount of his standing in for Hugh Jackman, "The day I saved The Greatest Showman". It's super funny and there is singing in it too.

It's more than a little bitter, too. Heh.
I find it kinda sad too, that I cried lol
It's super sad made me dislike Hugh a bit.
Makes me see this videos as cringe and performative
@@miloc6507 Oh boohoo, get outta here troll.

the passion in that room is thick!

Brings tears to my eyes every time u watch this reaction! Both of them really. So powerful emotional felt like I was in church lol
The passion in that room is PALPABLE!!
I’ve watched many of these videos of this song but this one made me smile the most just watching the sheer elation on your face. Great great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻

Hugh is so talented. Heck they all are.
Best reaction!! Loved every second✌❣️🇦🇺
They did Jeremy so dirty with this whole movie and video
These people are welcome to come party with me anytime! Love the energy and the passion!
To be in that room at that time... Bring it on Choir Boy!!!! This should definitely be on Broadway. I would pay to see it.
Jeremy Jordan was originally cast in the role that Zac Efron starred in. Sometimes directors will see that an actor is simply not right for the role. Read: The original actor in Back to the Future was NOT Micheal J. Fox. It was Eric Stolz.
Though to be fair, for Back to the Future they wanted Michael J. Fox from the beginning lol. But u make a good point!
Or simply the other is more well known than the former.

Zach Efron replaced Jeremy Jordan in the actual film. Bummer for Jeremy because he’s one talented man. So glad u did a reaction is this one too. 👍
This scene in the movie was my favorite. The choreography was amazing. I saw the movie I think 4 times in theater.
What an uplift
I love your reaction was the same as mine the first time I saw this
tick...tick...tick...💥
Are you saying he should react to it because if so I completely agree
I reccomend also watching "Jeremy Jordan- 'The Day I Saved The Greatest Showman''. It sheds a different perspective on the whole scenario.
This is my favorite movie. I know I've watched it over 100 times.
I love the soundtrack for this movie.
I literally asked a few days ago if he would react to this song! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
oh and a suggestion for a future reaction: PTX singing The Greatest Show. I have a feeling you'd love it, though can't put my finger on why 😉

Jordan was supposed to have a part, but it was given to Zac Efron, instead.
i mean cynthia erivo was in the room but wasnt in the movie

If you react to The Wizard and I from Wicked do the one with Idina Menzel because she’s a badass. 😊🥳🥳
Please check out anything from Wicked but preferably The Wizard and I.
God take me to church!
