The Acela II set is much less. I pre-orderd mine last year from Train World. The price was and still is $525. 👍
Add everything for dcc and your looking at 650 ish. High price for a bachmann set I think.
The prices on some of this stuff seems pretty excessive! Its exceeded the price on most Scaletrains Rivet Counter locomotives in many cases. That being said, I'm glad they're doing a C36-7 in HO scale, interested to see what they'll sell for on hobby shop websites.
I also have the Rapido Turbo train set in the modern Acela paint scheme. Unfortunately, it's a fantasy theme as the turboliner was never in service with that paint scheme. The big question is when or will a manufacturer like ESU or TCS get the new Acela sound files. No one ever had the sound files for the old Acela which I converted to DCC and sound. The sound files are from a Euro train and not accurate. :(
