    On this episode, we finally receive our Glideaway shower door (from NorthCoach RV Equipment) and we're ready to build our shower!
    We start by cutting our Villaboard Lining cement panels (from Bunnings) to dimensions and fix them to our 8020 extruded aluminium profiles.
    We seal all the edges, waterproof the joints with Crommelin Liquid Reinforcing Fabric, cut our Wet Area wall panels (from Bunnings) and glue them with Sikaflex 11FC+.
    We install our DIY Composting toilet in the bathroom (Separett Privy 500 urine divider) and fix our exhaust fan to the wall. We also wire our 12v shower light (from Road Tech Marine) through our pre-placed conduit.
    We are now ready to fix our Methven VJet shower rail/head and order our custom shower tray!
    Bring on finalising the final bathroom touches and starting on the Camper kitchen next week 🥳

    Chris, just a word of advice. If your going to source cable for your project from an electrical wholesaler, make sure it is multicore flex and not seven core building wire or something like that. The reason for multicore flex is that a moving vehicle flexes and vibrates, buildings are generally static in comparison. The more cores your wire has the more flexible it becomes as a general rule, that's generally why it's more expensive. Heed some advice from someone who has done some diesel locomotive rewiring, it's all multicore flex stuff, well insulated with a hard shell protective coating. They use the best because they cant afford for a loco to break down. You should think along the same lines, just my two bobs worth. Other than that, keep up the good work, I'm loving the show. P.S. I like your new ladder placement much better this time round.

    Try to ensure that the shower tray drains whatever direction the truck slopes.
    Might be easier if you have 2 diagonally oopposite drain holes.

    Awesome work on the shower - looking great! Be proud of yourselves!!!! One can be critical of your own work but at the end of the day it will be easier to fault find and if anything goes wrong you are better off blaming yourself than knowing you paid good money for someone else's mistakes! Got to go with Ange this time...Zippy!

    Couple of tips Chris, when cutting the board if you score the line with the edge of the blade on the saw it will prevent the chipping you had. Also with the hole saw, drill the hole and run the hole cutter on reverse it will score the hole for you before it starts cutting helping you achieve a cleaner hole cut.

    hello when pulling string four electrical wire use a vacuum to pull the string through the channels if you know what I mean. shove the string up inside the first hole put a vacuum on the second hole and it will draw the string to the other hole through the cavity and then out the other hole.

    • @TheOutFit

    Absolutely love this build and look forward to this every Friday now. I have a custom canopy on my landcruiser which has suffered from cracks due to chassis flex off-road. So many hours and $$$ went into this build which is disappointing. Might be a good idea to take the Mog for a drive Off-road with ruts etc to see how the box and fit out performs. I would hate to see the same thing happen to you guys, especially on its first major trip.

    Congrats on getting your first child potty trained LOL. As any parent will tell you that is not an easy accomplishment. Install looks clean simple and easy to maintain (the best kind to have for maximum enjoyment). Once water system is usable take the Mog out for a flex/vibration test run before adding more that could end up water damaged (good excuse for 1 or 2 day overnighter stress break :). Wishing you best of luck on further projects looking this great in the end.

    Try putting some masking tape on the opposite side of the board to stop the chipping of the edge. Also score the face with saw just touching the surface before doing the full cut.

    Hey Chris. To eliminate chipping on the boards, when cutting run a length of masking tape where the blade will go through, then make your cuts over the tape. NO CHIPS!.

    • @mikewatson1105

      To go with the slat base, how about an extension hose for the shower head so you can move both the wooden floor and the shower outside; then you'll have room to splash without fear!

    Those lights are massive overkill (very bight) for that small space but you can dim them though so you might find a 12v dimmer switch or just use a potentiometer on the switch wall plate so you can have a more relaxing shower.

    • @TheOutFit
      @TheOutFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest the light is exactly what we wanted, very happy with it! It's not dimmable. We have bought warm white dimmable 12v lights for the rest of the camper 👍

    • @ottigreenisgo
      @ottigreenisgo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s good that it’s perfect, I’ve got the smaller ones exactly the same brand etc and they are too much for my sprinter van, so figured the larger one which from memory is double the lumen would be way too much for such a white reflective space!
