A fact that you may not know is that the A361, which runs in full from Rugby to Ilfracombe is the longest 3 digit A road in the country

What about the A303 which could of been A30 but it goes parallel to the A30 from the M3 west of Basingstoke to Honiton. Where it meets with the A30 as you head towards Exeter and M5.

@@Andrewjg_89 well im glad that someone else agrees that the A303 should've been the A30 instead

Loved this one as the A361 is 'my' road, grew up in Braunton and in busy summers used to see if I could beat the ever-present traffic jam at 8:59 as I walked down to work in the village centre

I went to school at Braunton comp in 1988/89!

The A47 cuts right into East Anglia including Norfolk and bypasses Norwich. And it actually starts right in Birmingham but most people say that it actually starts from Nuneaton to Great Yarmouth and goes into Leicester, Rutland, Peterborough and bypasses south of King’s Lynn and Norwich. And I also think that it’s also a very long road. Maybe you could do the A47 starting at Lowestoft or from Birmingham or Nuneaton.

Which needs to be upgraded to dual carriageway standards

There’s only a small bit of it in Birmingham. The rest of the section to Nuneaton’s now the B4114.

Goes to Lowestoft south from Great Yarmouth nowadays.

@@blueberrysavers3547 Absolutely. As what I have heard on the Norwich Evening Standard newspaper and Eastern Daily Press newspaper.

I used to live at Chivenor (8:33).
When I was last there, Chivenor was an RAF base, but a reduction in the flight and tactical training requirements thanks to the end of the Cold War, saw Chivenor close as an RAF base, and a change to a Royal Marines base.
The cycle/walking trail that follows the old railway route from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe is a lovely ride, with not too heavy gradients... that trail is to the left of the road next to the estuary.

I believe I've been on this section of the A361 towards Barnstaple from the M5, on the way to Bude last year!

And then decides to use the A399 and A3123 to avoid Barnstaple.

No one needs that many roundabouts in their life! I greq up in North Devon and learnt to drive in Barnstaple but can honestly say I've never taken the route through town since the new bridge opened
