Hey, thanks for the video! Really helped me get the carbs off. I've reattached all the cables but when I use the choke lever the mechanism its attached to slides across but nothing appears to open or do anything. Whats meant to happen when i use the choke lever?
Hi, I haven't logged into YT for a while, just noticed your question. You may have too much slack on the cable? Cable should be tight-ish on both open and closed choke, pushing the arm actuating the choke plungers on the Mikuni carbs. When the plunger is raised it allows fuel in the passage. Choke off the plunger covers up the passage on the carb. As far as setup, should be in a Haynes-type w'shop manual or YT vids etc. around on it. I noticed on mine if there's a high idle like around 1500rpm my choke makes no difference regarding sound of motor, however at 1100-1200rpm when cold you can hear the change of sound note and there's a difference, running smoother when cold so working, I guess. Can't be too much help here unfortunately without looking at your bike to see what's going on. I suggest to look up 'mikuni 32mm carburetor' 'choke plunger'.
Pretty hard to get to if you've already pushed the carbs back into the inlet manifolds. Everything is in the way. I put the cables on first whilst holding/supporting the carbs above the manifolds before pushing them into the manifolds.
