What wasn't lost on me was the fact that the building behind your truck had lawn care equipment just sitting there. Like, what? And you, a man from an entirely different state, not only cleaned up that mess at the cost of your time and equipment, but recruited local firefighters to help. The biggest kudos to you!

34:00 when they said the line of mowers belonged to the Sheriffs department! Crazy... wonder who is supposed to do the upkeep at the cemetery.
I know the one we frequent is kept up by county workers. If this isn't a private one, shame on whoever has forgotten it. And if it IS a private one someone needs to find out who should maintain it and restore that connection and task. Seems like it might have gotten lost in the system after the flooding but time to get it back in the system again and get some workers out there regularly to keep up what he started. It's a lot easier to maintain after a big clean up like this after all.

Respectful that a cemetery is a solemn and peaceful place , I was thinking maybe a few shrubs would soften it a little and maybe seats for relatives , if any , to sit and reflect our cemetery's in the UK , have trees and shrubs and it makes them so beautiful and peaceful.

Just watched the cleanup of this cemetery and being a genealogist I thought I would just add that this is the Johnson Fisher Cemetery in Port Sulfur, Louisiana. It can be found on Find A Grave and there are a few requests for photographs from this cemetery. Also, the GPS locations are missing for this cemetery. You do such a wonderful job. I would just suggest you carry a GPS locator and document the cemetery for Genealogy purposes, or report the cleanup to the local or state genealogical society so they can go and locate the cemetery properly and do a walk through. It is important to locate lost relatives. It should be the city's responsibility to take care of abandoned or neglected cemeteries.

Watching him in this video. The lack of care in this town. I’m sorry I will not be coming in again. I just cannot believe what I’m seeing. thank you Kevin for showing most respect and care and the people that live there and walk by it day by day. And that trash pile the things he was pulling out shows people were throwing stuff there. There’s got to be a way they can clean that pile out of that grave yard there’s no reason for it except lazy . I’m sorry I should not be so disrespectful. I don’t know the people but I just feel bad for the lack of respect to the people in the graves. I’m sorry to anyone that lives in that town that I’ve showed any disrespect to.

U have so much respect and have the hugest, most caring heart. U take pride in any transformation u do. U, ur dad, Al & AP need to go on a tour together for u all care about other's needs.
This is one of ur best videos showing the respect, care, precision cutting and the best final touches. Most just cut tall grass down and leave it to look just as bad.
I've had 6 back surgeries that now limit my lifting, but i can still use my zero turn and weed eater. Please take care of ur back for when it goes, it's never the same again. Just last year I was mowing 3 yards, and now this year I'm down to just half of my yard due to a very steep hill. I did just buy a new Toro self propelled mower for the hill, but I walk very far due to not having full use of my right leg.
A big thank u to the firefighters who helped u out a little. Thank u Joe for blessing u with some fresh shrimp after a long day. U made his day by getting in touch with him and going by his place.
May God always watch over u while ur working and away from home. May He continue to Bless u and ur family.
Sending much respect and fan love for u and ur beautiful family from Rush Springs, Oklahoma ❤❤

I appreciate how precision and neat your clean-ups are. You’re not sloppy and you don’t leave it sloppy like some other lawn care people do on TH-cam. I like how you keep going over the grass until most everything is nothing but dust and dirt. I know that’s extra gas and effort but it makes all the difference in the final job. Even when you’re exhausted you still try to do it all right/correctly. Not half assed or sloppy.

I honestly felt very claustrophobic knowing that I was inside of a bowl of water. I was there for 2 or 3 days and it rained almost non stop😬🤣 Joe gave me the tour and showed me the massive pumps that the country uses to constantly pump water out of the area.

Also, I lost my dad 60 years ago and I moved away from Namibia to Cape Town.. I've only been back twice to visit. I know years ago. The cemetary in Windhoek in Namibia was classified the tidiest in the world. Don't know if its still today.

    Wow. That was absolutely brilliant.
    Congratulations.
I don’t have an award for you, but that was the best thing I’ve watched on my television in years.
    I actually cried.
I was flipping between you and another American and his sons and then an Australian guy all day, because I found it helpful to have my headphones on so that I could feel that you guys were working so hard lawnmowing and I needed to pull my weight. I did a lot of cooking and cleaning.
I was about to go to bed and this video popped up and it piqued my interest because I take my dog for a run to our town cemetery each day. The grass is mown short or non existent because it is in a big paddock on the edge of the bush. The dog can’t get grass seeds stuck in her and it is very quiet and pleasant. I just drive the roads between the graves and she runs and she has a few swims in a little dam in the paddock next door. I watch the swallows swoop over the dam catching insects and the family of Superb Fairy Wrens hopping around in the short native grass. It is the loveliest time of the day.
When you gathered up all those old plastic flowers I was wishing that I was game to do that too, because they are awful things.
One only needs to sit quietly in nature to see the beauty and serenity at a cemetery. I only lay natural things on “the ancestors” (😂) graves. Pomegranates, daffodils, rosemary, roses and other flowers all have special meaning to them and me.
I’m Australian and I have definitely had a dose of culture shock through your channel.
I’m pretty proud to think that that would not happen here.
Now I understand you so much better, because although that attitude exists everywhere I didn’t think that Americans would be so selfish as to not mow their neighbour’s nature strip especially men in service as such. Yet it exists here in Australia too. I’m not accustomed to it where I live. Most people would mow two or three houses down if needs be.
Anyway fantastic video. Very, very powerful and the sea level stuff was fascinating. There was a barge going through at the start of the video and my eyes were 😳.
ps. The placement of the camera and those fireman sitting on those lawnmowers, with you working in the rain was absolutely cinematic genius, if it had not been actually happening.

Thank you for doing that, it's so sad to see cemeteries become overgrown and unloved over the years. Seems once the immediate family of the people buried in a cemetery move away or pass on, then there is no one left who feels the need to be sure these places are kept up. One day this will be all of us. I happen to be a cemetery nut and love to visit old ones and just wander around and read the stones. I will talk to the people as if they are right there listening. So much of our history is preserved in the info found at cemeteries and we really need to respect them and take care of them. No one much seems to have that level of respect these days. Sad really. Im not too far from this locale, in Beaumont, Tx. Less than an hour west of Louisiana on IH 10. Yet most all of our graves are in ground and not so many above ground like there.

It seems every time they experience a bad hurricane the community has to do the best they can with whomever is left (many are forced to evacuate and relocate other parts of the country) to maintain the cemeteries until someone from the family /appointed individual can return to do it.

At first I thought it was debris from years of cleaning the graves and not hauling it away but I think it was a dump site once the top layer was removed. Construction debris. If that's the case, that's low down!

It seems ironic that Kevin is mowing a cemetery where a lot of orange lawn mowers are neatly lined up in the background! Great job, Kevin!😅

It’s watching from BC, Canada. It is 5:16 pm and just finished watching the video. I applaud you for the work you do, very thorough. I’m somewhat amazed at the city for not doing more to keep the cemetery tidy and especially not giving you more help, when you’re not even from that area. I also think the fire fighters could have helped more to remove all the debris piled there. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and have to say I’m very impressed with your work. Keep it up, you make all the homes look so well cared for, others must be so impressed with your work.

So sad to see so much disrespect for a cemetery. Thank you and the firemen who came to help tidy up . God bless you all. ❤🇬🇧

Wow, that was a lot of work to get that cemetery cleaned up. It’s a shame that somebody chose the cemetery as a trash dumping ground. You did the best you could to clean it up and especially in the rain. You did a great job. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
