CLIP DESCRIPTION:
After a family dinner full of food and farts, a depressed Klump (Eddie Murphy) is reminded by his mama (Eddie Murphy) to always believe in himself.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Eddie Murphy gives one of Jerry Lewis' best-remembered vehicles a 1990s overhaul in this hit comedy. Sherman Klump (Murphy) is a college professor and respected biochemistry researcher who is kind, considerate, and a genuinely nice guy. Sherman is also appallingly overweight; coupled with the fact that he's painfully shy and a bit clumsy, his romantic prospects are rather bleak. When Sherman finds himself working with a pretty graduate student, Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett), he falls in love and is eager to impress her, but at an upscale nightclub, his weight attracts the attention of an insult comic (Dave Chappelle) and his bumbling spoils the evening. Sherman's latest project is a genetic weight loss formula, and despondent over his failure to win Carla's heart, he subjects himself to a massive dose. Suddenly, Sherman is transformed into the slim, trim, and handsome Buddy Love; however, the drug also boosts his testosterone level, turning the likable Sherman into the arrogant, skirt-chasing Buddy. In addition to playing Sherman and Buddy, Eddie Murphy also plays four other members of the porcine Klump family, as well as eccentric exercise guru Lance Perkins.

Sherman’s mother is honestly the best type of mother you could hope for. Unconditional love and support for her boy, she treasures him just the way he is. It’s so sweet.

I wish I knew how that felt like. Seeking your mother for support and unconditional love. My parents abandoned me from their lives over money. I still try to reach out to them, telling them I’m a few months away from getting a Bachelors Degree and that I’m making a good earning at work. Still get no replies tho. I just wanted to let people like me know that they aren’t alone. You can always reach out to me, it’s never easy being alone and abandoned..especially by the people who made you.

You must also keep in mind that his Idol, the late great Richard Pryor did it first in the 1970 block buster, Which way is up! Richard played three charters throughout the movie and pulled it off as believable! He played himself, he played the old man, and he also played the preacher as well! Very herlious stuff for the 70s! 😂
But you fast forward to the late 90s and Eddie Murphy's scene just blows the roof off any competition from the past! 😂😭

I distinctly remember this watching in theaters and the whole audience burst out into laughter every time they farted. Such good times.
The farting scene at the table was one of the best parts of this film. I laughed for hours. Eddie Murphy should have recieved an award for all the different characters he played in this film. Eddie Murphy is extremely talented. Thank you Eddie Murphy for the hours of enjoyment of many of your films.

That was more food than a Thanksgiving spread. They had fried chicken and pork chops, beans and rice, greens, peas, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, etc. It was a smorgasbord!

I used to replay this scene so much as a kid. But I always would get so confused at the brother.
